Squisha got a reaction from slimagainsoon in not losing very fast!input please!
You will hit lots of stall along the way. Also the less you have to lose over all the slower it will come off. 20lbs in just under a month is great.

I am 8.5 months out. I am down 113lbs and would have surgery again in a heartbeat. But no i didn't wake up from surgery feeling like a different person. I still love food, but I am happier and satisified with a lot less. When I am out and watch others eat I can't believe I used to eat that much an more. I think the way I eat now is more normal than the way I ate before.

You have to believe it will work. There are lots of stall along the way, but I have noticed after a week or 2 stall I will drop a clothing size. Follow your doctors eating plan, don't start solids too soon and you will do fine. I am 9 months out, down 111 lbs and still losing. You can do this!

Squisha got a reaction from amytug in Instead of pizza
I have used flat out, it's a rectangle bread sold near the pitas. I cut 1 into fourths for myself, half for hubby and daughter. I add spaghetti sauce, low fat mozzarella and what ever toppings i am in the mood for. i like to cook it on my griddle pan. Spay pan with pam, place bread in pan for a few min to heat, flip and add sauce cheese and toppings. I have had real pizza a few times since surgery and am satisfied with 1 slice instead of 3 or 4.

Your fat cells store Estrogen. As your fat cells shrink they dump all that excess estrogen into your blood stream.

My doctor asked me what weight i wanted to get to, i told him 199 and he told me that was a good place to start. Once I hit 199 I will decide where I want my final number to be. I am 6ft tall and started out at 407 so for me to get to 199 is still over a 200lb loss.

I told everyone about the surgery and about my diabetes and high blood pressure and obesity going away. I hope I can help others decide to take control of their life and use this tool to get healthier too.

I tell anyone ,whoever says its the easy way or cheating I invite to the gym with me ... So far no takers. Remember what we did is radical, and we represent change and commitment that few people will make hence the jerkey reactions. Let your haters be your motivators!!!

I had surgery March 21 of this year, Easter was hard, I was still on purees, I had egg salad and mashed potatoes. Thanksgiving was much better, I enjoyed turkey, a bite of a deviled egg, and I made sweet potato casserole with splenda and sugar free brown sugar. I also made pumpkin pie with splenda and had a small sliver. It was the first thanksgiving I remember eating just till i was full, not till i felt like i was gonna pop. I was ready to get up and moving, playing cards or games right after dinner, everyone else was tires sleepy and stuffed. So I still got to enjoy all my favorites and never felt deprived.

I have been told Water can not strech your sleeve. But I would talk to your doctor about how much is too much, you can dilute the minerals in your body by drinking too much and since you can eat as much you could pre op your not replinishing those minerals as fast.

Squisha got a reaction from Lissa in This Is Why I Don't Keep My Wls A Secret...
I started to take WLS serious after someone spoke to my mom about there experience. I had thought about surgery for a while but never took any steps or talked to my family about it. My mom came home talking about how well this lady she met was doing and the next week i went to my surgeons information seminar. It is the best thing i ever did and i love telling people about my surgery and how much i have lost and how much better i feel.

    bravo to you lisa.
i am an opener-sleever, i posted on Facebook the day i started my pre-op diet - by this time, everyone in my family, close friends, and some co-workers knew. i voiced my reasons, my hopes and fears and stepped back to see the reaction - and it was and has been amazing. my friends are super supportive and i am only 8 days out. i just figured in these days of social media, there is no way that people wont see the changes my body will go through. i am proud of myself for making this decision. its not easy - and its a lifelong commitment, but if this sleeve gives me a better quality of life not only for myself but for my family it will all be so worth it! sleevers are bad-asses! LOL

Despite losing all this weight, I'm still using my bi-pap machine because my sleep apnea has not resolved. Today I had to make a run to the office of the company that services my bi-pap machine for supplies. While there, I talked to the tech (Mary) who handles my case and she asked me about the pain level and complication rates of the sleeve. Since this gal is tiny, I was curious about why she was asking these questions and she took me deep into the office to meet one of her co-workers, who I'll call Jane.
Jane is about 300 pounds, in her mid-30's and has been researching WLS, including both the band and the sleeve. Mary asked me to talk to Jane about my surgery and I was really happy that I keep before and after photos on my phone. I was able to answer quite a few questions for Jane, and for a couple of other ladies in the office. One of the other ladies in there made the comment that I've lost her entire body weight...and then she told Jane that WLS is a drastic step "just to lose some weight". I spoke up and said, "Yeah, it's drastic. It's also life-saving". Mary backed me up on how sad, sick, and dejected I was before my sleeve. None of them could deny that I am happier, more willing to talk to strangers and much more energetic now that I was pre-op.
I don't know if Jane will look into VSG, but I gave her my phone number, my doctor's phone number, his website, and directions to VST (here!). Mary, the tech, told me that she mentions me often to people who she thinks would benefit from WLS because she's seen my progress over the last 15 months. Strangely enough, I don't mind that she tells people about my story. IMO, if I inspire one person to create a new life for themselves, then it's worth it for people to talk about me.
I felt like a million bucks being able to tell Jane my story...and that Mary felt my story was important and special enough to drag me in to see her friend.

I have told everyone, friends, family, random strangers. I have recieved nothing but postive feedback from everyone I told. The only people I haven't told are my husband family because they have been super critical and judgemental of my weight in the past. We will see my husbands mom for the 1st time in 5 years in June and I will be 15 months out. I have no intention of telling her just gonna tell her it was diet and exercise.
