Okay so Breakfast was ok. A 1 egg white scrambled. Tolerated ok. lunch, pureed carrots. Made my tummy hurt and gave me a case of terminal belching. dinner at parents was beef pot roast, carrots and potatos with salad. I took a tiny piece of meat, a tiny tater piece and a tiny carrot and put it on food processor with some gravy and chopped it all up. It taste delish but it hurt and same outcome as the carrots so it was a fail. Maybe too soon or too rich.

I wouldnt have a blockage if i had 2 small bm,s in 9 days right?

Hello, 8 days post op and I do still wear Ted if im laying down or asleep but just now I felt a twinge in my calf. Do you think its a sign? Its not been a good day, I threw up trying to take tylenol.

Was aprox 247 on 1/30 surg date scale this am says 230 not sure how much is water but thats whAT IT says there is no way i could toletate purees now. Cant really tolerate liquids. So i will be losing fast but health no

Ladilush, wow did he take into account you are healing? Ive never heard of purees as stage one. Just wow. How much have you lost just curious? Im one week today and no way I could stomach food now. Good luck

I have been having a difficult time with soups and ive been so hungry so i got some lobster bisque thinking a tiny bit wont hurt me. Boy was I wrong! Too heavy! I i.gested about 5 tsps and then i had a bad reaction, I feel chest discomfort and like someone punched me in upper abdomen. Yikes Im a dingie. I wonder if it freezes well? DumbRycherchick

I am 7 days post op today and never thought I'd get to this day ever. I do have a prob. Everytime I drink anything I burp it all most immediatly. And it sits on top of my diaphram and I have a small pain kind of like someone just punched me at the very top of my abdomen. Please tell me this is temporary. I am not eating or drinking nearly enough and I don't wanna become anorexic. I am trying to get the vits down too. Why is it so hard or is it just too soon after surgery ad all of this will be resolved soon? I don't ever feel like drinking ( and eating and drinking is the same thing in this statge) except for pudding. I can tolerate pudding but I still get the punch and burping. Help. I just want to sleep all day and its no wonder cuz I have no energy to use and I have to go back to work Monday where I am on my feet but can rest. Help ladies and Gents. Thanks Janice

I am 6 days out today and just waiting to feel normal. I was in the hosp 1 night and was dis charged by noon the next day. I had no pain medication beside the Toradol I was given in the hosp. I just experienced gas pains mostly in my shoulder. Its very helpful to sleep sitting up. Im still dealing with residual gas mainly just burping that is UN comfortable at times and I don't know if its from surgery our from when i drink. I have seen on here you do not great hunger pains. That's not necc true. I feel hungry a lot and wonder if its real. I still have a heard time getting my liquids in and if you don't you get a headache. I just don't feel like drinking. I had a hernia repair also stop maybe that's the reason why when i do drink it feel like it sits on my diaphragm. It does go down eventually or maybe it goes down right away and i just don't know it. I don't feel like drinking at all so i hope it gets better cuz i need my protein. I'm just hoping out all gets better starting tomorrow cus ready our not I'm going back to work Monday and not reading into it full time. I just wanted to tell my story. I had lower BMI and stayed at 224 for 10 yrs when in Dec of 11 i started gaining a nd daddy of surgery i was 246. My scale now says 236 and i know its water but ya gotta start somewhere. L Williams,I cannot believe your inlaws speak to youlike that. Why is your husband not stepping in to saysomething? You are his wife and by that fact alone you deserve respect from them. How dar any man say oh if this diet works you'll finally fit into our family? I don't know you from Adam but i want to punch him in the face. Why is your husband alowi.g this treatment of you? I would ditch them thin or not. What freaks!

Wow that made me sad because i was always able to do those things. I fit comf. In seats and went on rides at Hershey park. I was able to ride them all without weight limits etc. i did dress nice for a size 18/20 but everything you all described would eventually happen had i not had this surgery. I may not have experianced those limiting things but its a given it wouldve happened to me. I am 6 days post op and cannot believe i had the courage to go thru but ive lost 12 lbs since surgery. Its ok by me its only water.

That is loaded question. I think you know the answer. Its not good with healing and you know all the risks. Ive never been one but my doc said he cringes when his barr. Pts are s mokers, they dont heal as well or as quickly. He said the worst co mbo is a morbidly obese person who smokes too. You did the surgery to get jealthy maybe talk to someone about a cessation program cuz lets face iy even if u are thin if you still continue to smoke you are still unhealthy. Good luck

Every Doctor has a different program. Mine is one week of Clear liquids. Week 2 all liquids still but can add in Protein shakes, sugar free pudding Jello etc. The 3rd week is pureed foods maybe baby foods anything ( well not anything) thatcan be liquified. and Then week is soft foods cream of wheat, pureed tury and gravy etc So far I am 5 days post op and have lost 12 pounds. Granted its Water weight because I am havinhard time keeping up wh my liquids and keeping them down. I did cheat a lile and am having small sips of Protein Shakes and smallspoon fulls of sf vanilla pudding. I ree that within the firstfew mohs you should lose the most weight. I would contact your nutritionist.

Just Staples on like 4 out of 6 incisions. The bigger ones. I will get them taken out on Valentines day. Ohhh dreading that day cuz I will go back to work Mon an I am a pre school acher and on VD my little kids give me tons of Candy. Most of all of the parents know I had this done so hopefully just a card or maybe flowers.

How long before the danger of a blood clot passes? I am 3 days post op.

We do the same thing in our office but its usually just our boss who always has surgeries. I also always contribute and she has had an elective sboulder surgery and a face lift a few years ago. Ive been home since Thurs and tjought maybe they would send something who lnows maybe they will, maybe they wont. I wouldnt be upset about it. Rise above it. I know it stings a little but next ti me its your turn to co.tribute be tapped out. Sorry, not in the budget. I have a wonderful husband and 2 sons and they have made up for what my coworkers slacked out on. If i could id send you some. Hugs to you!

We have Aetna and I had to to the 3 mos. It goez by fast. Not a quick process

I just don't understand how they gave you 2 cups of cream soup. All i could have the second day was I've chipa and prob about a quarter cup. I ate a few pieces that's all i could tolerate. I am two days post op and still struggling with water and Ice. There's no way i can tolerate anything else. You should not have had all that while in hosp. My scale says I've lost 8 pounds so far. Ihope its true. I think you should try to go back to just water and broth. It doors sound like he didn't do something right. No easy on earth you should gain weight After a sleeve. Its basically unheard of. Look into it right away i smell a huge law suit. Good luck. Janice

Im having a hard time witb myiquids. Ive just been so sleepy i sleep all day. Last nite i tried more water and it wouldnt stay down. I just wish o felt better. I have pain around my diaphram. I just do.t wanna get dehydraed.

Hey guys i made it and i did it with zero opiates even during surgery. Its so not bad at all for you pre opers. And i was the biggest baby ever. Pain in belly is just sorness the most discomfort is the gas and here they said i couldn't use Heating pad something with the electrical. It is sooooooo not bad at all so here is where everyone can kick ms now. The only concern is I've already seen the doc and he is discharving me buf didn't duo leak test. Jan

Good Luck to you and I am right there with you today, Mine is at 3pm and have to leave here shortly, the Hosp is an hour away and I think I have to be there 2 hrs prior. I will try to post if I can but for some reason I have the Vertical sleeve talk app on my phone but it does not let me post ony read, I post from my PC. Maybe I will figure out a way to do that during my down time,... May love and blessings to all esp those whose lives will change today like mine. I am hopiand praying that a peaceful calm will wash over me the closer I get. Maybe they will give me a sedati for my nerves just before.
