I popped out 3 babies and one of them I had 0 meds. My Sleevie Wonders surgery was a day at the park compared to that. I believe I was sleeping the sleep of the dead while my leak test was being performed. Never took anti nausea meds post op cuz I didnt have Nausea but Ive been on Nexium for 12 yrs ( Im a lifer) so my stomach is made of cast Iron. If you do vom, it may just be a slime as its called and its just frothy saliva plus whatever you are expelling. I think you will be A ok. I also did not need any pain meds, narcotic or otherwise.

I see a lot of people on here who have had a lap band and then have the sleeve. Is there only a certain amount that you can lose with tbe lb ? I am curious to know why people dont lose with a lap band. Are thdy really phasing them out? My friend had one in 05 and she only lost 37 lbs and I want to ask her why but I dont want to upset her.

I just had a scrambled egg white and a tiny piece of wheat sandwich thin not the whole thing and it went down fine, no discomfort. 5 min later I get that salivating mouth and up comes it all. What happened? Ive only vomitex 1 other time about a week out. Today Im 6 weeks. I was never a big barfer before surgery, what the dillio?

After almost 6 weeks post op, I finally felt the restriction and oh boy is it uncomfortable. I microwaved one of those Hormel pot roasts and made some mashed tators. I took 1/4 cup of tators plus a tiny chunk of beef and sat down with a mag to eat, not paying attemtion to my signals and before you know it I had eaten all of it. Crap, now I know what it feels like, my chest hurts and I have a headache. Crap what have I done? Remedies? Should I lie down? DumbRycherchick

5 weeks and 35 pounds gone.

I'm in Md had my surgery Jan 30 at Meritus in Hagerstown. On my way up there now for my 2nd follow up.

It didn't even taste like I remember. Live and learn the hard way. I'm a hard head!

Been a little depressed cuz I'm having a hard time eating. Everything Sits. So what did I do? Since before my surgery way back in my freezer was little tiny single serve cup of Ben& Jerrys choc fudge Brownie ice cream so I thought, I wanna try it. What a colossal mistake! Too much sugar and its sitting below my esophagus. It was not but 5 spoons full but after 2 I chucked it. Man what a shock to the system. I repent!

I've been married almost 20 yrs. He's been with me literally thru thick and thin so not much will be different for me. He is the only man for me so no wandering eye for me.

If my loss keeps up I should hit onederland in April. Havnt been there since 1993!! Congrats

Everyone I have tasted taste like butt. I don't mind the Special K ones but they have too much sugar. Even the Premier ones are kinda icky.

I am 5 wks po today. I just dont feel like eating. I work 6:30to 3 m~f and in order to have energyI still do protein shakes. I have tried lots of diff allowable foods Im just no longer interested in eating. Unless its liquid It sits and I feel uncomfortable. Will this pass? I also have not exercised other than walking cuz i dont have the energy. Please tell me this will get better. Eating is like laundry, I hate doing it but must.

Look at it this way, yes I was not required to do a pre op diet but, you will lose more weight before and after. You will have leg up!

God will not bring you to this surgery to have you go out on the table but I get the fear. You will be fine and the min you wake up think of how brave you were.

Ooh yeah! Felt The same way. A peace and calm comes over you that and a pre surgical sedative. You will wake up!

No pre OP diet. I even gained a few pounds and not a word was mentioned. 5 weeks post op and def 30 pounds gone maybe more. I will get weighed Fri at follow up appt

You appeal it. They want to see how bad you want it and to what lengths you will go to have it. Your doctors office will know what to do.

You just found out you have to quit smoking ? I'm sure this isn't the first time a doctor has told you. I mean no harm by this but I sure hope you can not pick it up after surgery. Can you imagine you have this surgery to become healthier and if you still smoke after you are still unhealthy. Good luck.

Not always. My liver was the size it wad supposed to be. He palpated it and i had tests done. That is why I didnt have to do a preop diet.

I just advanced to regular food s too, tell that to my stomach. I still cant handle most reg foods so i stick with my protein shakes.
