blood clots

How long before the danger of a blood clot passes? I am 3 days post op.

I took shots for two weeks post op to reduce blood clot risk. I believe there's risk for up to six weeks.

That's why we're encouraged to be up and around as much as possible. The more you move, the less likely you are to get them.

I know how scary and they only gave me thinners in hosp but notjing to go home. Now im scared.

Ok i guess im good on that part cuz i cant sit still

They generally only give you the shots (like Lovenox) if you're high risk. I had a high start weight, so I was at greater risk.
