  1. I think moonsiren is the most accurate here. There are other body parts that produce the hormone..however there are some people that experience spelling and articulate issues. Some say that they are only temporary and cannot really determine if they are due to the hormone or the body's reaction to change and less nutrition. Let's research this topic more. I believe it would be beneficial for folks that have had this surgery a few years ago to comment on this topic. It would be nice to hear from those folks.
  2. I was just reading in another forum that the hormone that is cut off with stomach is also responsible for memory and there have been people that are having trouble remembering things. Is this true!? Anyone else post off with same issue?
  3. I am 36 and i am concerned about sagging and loose skin. Is anyone my age that has already had the surgery? What has been your experience about the surgery after fast weight loss?
  4. I am assuming since post opp we will eat very little compared to before, that bowel movements will change as well. Did anyone suffer from constipation?
  5. Lets all keep in touch. Let's give each other motivation. Every year it seems like i gain another 10 lbs.
  6. I am 36 and getting ready for surgery. I hv 3 boys and a girl
  7. Cool!!! Have u already been sleeved? I just got my endoscopy done...and pcp already approved the surgery. Cool!!! Have u already been sleeved? I just got my endoscopy done...and pcp already approved the surgery.
  8. Those are my stats currently and working on getting sleeved. Anyone have a success story to share? I am overall pretty healthy.
  9. I had that question also...two weeks seems very soon...but we are all very different.
  10. For the most part, i hear people that have had this surgery do not regret it. Based on your personal experience, and taking into consideration post op recovery..would u do it again? Is it worth it?
  11. If u don't mind me asking, what city r u in? Not putting u to sleep sounds cruel..i would make sure u have the right doctor in the city..
  12. How awful..why didnt they put u to sleep?
  13. That is scary..having your tummy hurt cause u ate a roll..but i guess it is good...cause that is what makes us gain weight. Do u maintain your energy?
  14. Because u r not eating enough?
  15. That is very interesting...i am assuming u can eat those things but in small portions?
  16. Thanks for replying..are u able to eat any type of food?
  17. Na....just think positive. Do u normally feel. "good"? If so shouldnt be a problem...but if they do find something atleast they will find it before it causes u any issues...but just dont be nervous about it. Actually u should feel happy about it because it is an opportunity to check on your health. After the procedure u will feel very good that u got it done and will realize that it was a piece of cake...read my posts bfore i got it done. I was feeling the same way..but it was un necessary....so just enjoy.
  18. Mine was done at 7 am...or i had to be there at 7 am but the doc didnt do it until about 10 am...so they checked me in, put me in a room...met all the docs and nurses...then i saw my doc and he assured me it was a very simple procedure...then the aanesthesiologist put me to sleep in a second...so weird..that is the part that freaks me out how quickly they put u under...then the next minute i was awake..i looked at the clock and it was an hour later. It took about 30 min for me to wake up. The procedure was pretty short. I got dressed and we drove home. U cant drive yourself...i felt woozy all day, bbut not bad. No after pain. I actually felt like i had a vacation day away from work. I did not go in...at night i ate dinner as usual. This morning i felt a little pain in my throat area..kinda like it was swollen...but nothing major at all. Dr did find a hernia that he will fix during the sleeve procedure. Hope that helps...relax..endoscopy is simple.
  19. I hope that you r feeling better. I am sorry u r going thru this. My prayers r with u.
