chicagochic got a reaction from Ready4success in Single Incision Vsg
I had no sharp pain at all. I did have some localized pain in my abdomen for about 24 hours after surgery. I did have some nausea and had the dry heaves for about half an hour. That caused me to have a pulling sensation inside for a bit but it went away the next day. I am just under two weeks out and my belly button looks just as if I never had surgery.
Kinda looks like a boob but it's my fat belly! All healed up.

chicagochic got a reaction from MGM in First Nsv
I'm only 1.5 weeks out and down 20 lbs total (Lost half during pre-op) but noticed that my lovely, soft, Egyptian cotton bath towel wraps around me! I am completely covered! So cool!

chicagochic got a reaction from rodswife in Ensure Meal Replacement Post Op?
My NUT specifically said to stay away from the ensure and glucerna shakes. Too many carbs and sugars and things we don't need.

chicagochic got a reaction from vanb0052 in Cooking For One.
The biggest hurdle I've found in my new cooking regime is having so much food. One can of retried Beans is like 8 meals. So I figured I would use ice trays to freeze foods like chili, Soup, veggies, quiche, beans, etc. It works great because I can thaw out one or two "cubes" depending on how much I am going to eat. Plus it's cheaper and easier to store than a ton of bowls that hold too much food.

chicagochic got a reaction from judy7120 in Post Op Breathing Inhaler...have An Ammonia Taste After?
I had to do it as well for a few days post surgery. They said it was something about expanding the lungs and removing fluids. It gets easier as you get stronger.

chicagochic got a reaction from bean406 in New Here! I Was "sleeved" On 5/9/12.

chicagochic got a reaction from MinaT in Weaning Off Caffeine...
I weaned off caffeine and had a Migraine for 5 days straight. Nothin but Water and Tylenol can help. After that first week, I was fine. Just had to get out of the system.

chicagochic got a reaction from Luwanna in Pre-Op Diet
I start my two week all liquid pre-op diet tomorrow. I'm a bit nervous but excited because it means my VSG is right around the corner. I have decided to be as strict as possible, and cleaned out my pantry, fridge and freezer (there was a well timed food drive in my area). I have only kept a few frozen fish fillets and eggs just in case I get homocidal around day 3! It's a matter of public safety..Wish me luck...

chicagochic got a reaction from hope2Bfitand40 in Preparing For Surgery
All Protein Shakes are not created equal and what may taste good/tolerable to one is going taste very different to the next person. Plus I hear that post-surgery, your taste buds may changes. The smartest thing I did was go to GNC and Vitamin Shoppe and buy several different ready to drink shakes in single servings to that I could see which I like. My favorites are the slim fast low carb which has 20 grams of protien and the Atkins advantage are my absolute favorite. Those have 15 grams. Only tolerable are the clear Isopure. Those have 40 grams of protien and I sip on one most of the day. Try not to stock up on the same too much for post surgery until you get a feel after the surgery for what you would like.
