  1. Running is so addictive! I love it and have run a local 5k race each month since June just to challenge myself. I am running a 5k in September and October and then running an 8k in November with my goal to complete a half next spring!! It's so much easier without the excess weight and I get none of the pains I had when I was heavy. I love running outdoors, it's so peaceful, but I will hit the treadmill during bad weather so I don't miss my workout. Congrats to all the runners....we are doing this!!!
  2. LOVE spin class, take it two to three times a week. The gel seat is a MUST unless you like walking like a cowboy the next day lol. Those seats are a pain in the rear(literally). Totally love the class, keep it up if you like it. It burns a lot of calories and is a great workout.
  3. I agree with some of the other comments, what are your stats? What was your starting weight, how tall are you, do you exercise regularly? Allof these things make a difference in keeping your weight loss in perspective, you are doing great and you are losing. That's a positive. What are you eating? Sliding foods like chips, pretzels, popcorn, cheetos fool you because you can eat more of them but they aren't good for your weight loss efforts. Be positive and know that you can do this! Hugs!!!
  4. Right now I love anything by Florida(whistle, good feeling), Black Eyed Peas, J Lo(dance again), and other upbeat fast tunes. Good luck finding workout music, it makes such a difference for me!!
  5. I was sleeved two weeks before you and am down 66 pounds. I had some stalls in the beginning but was told to eat carbs, change up my routine and sleep. Did that and it broke my stall, haven't had one in awhile.
  6. I am 5 months out sleeved two weeks before you and have had some stalls, but none lasted too long. I was told to eat some carbs(good carbs) and sleep as your body needs rest if you are working out alot like I was. Broke my stall in 2-3 days and haven't had a stall in months. I have lost 66 pounds to date and am 5 pounds from goal, my new concern is will my body recognize that and stop losing weight? I work out 5-6 times a week and am a little nervous I could end up way under goal....not complaining though I used to be way over goal lol!
  7. I am 5 months out and don't drink water the same as before, I used to be able to guzzle 20oz room temp after working out, I cannot do that now. I can drink about 4-5 oz at a time, then wait a few minutes and drink some more. I can finish 28 ounces in an hour spinning class, and still be thirsty!
  8. It does change lives, I had never heard of the sleeve until January of this year and went I thinking about getting a lapband. I am so happy my surgeon suggested the sleeve and I was fortunate to be the second sleeve he ever performed. It has changed my life and opened me eyes. Feels like now since I eat so little, I notice how much food is apart of our everyday lives, it's everywhere and rampant. We no longer eat to live, we live to eat. I noticed that when watching tv there are so many food commercials, now since I among hungry I don't jump up and grab something to eat but I know before I probably did. This tool has been life changing for me,it forces me to be aware of what I consume and to make good choices.
  9. What I won't miss.... Hating taking pictures bc I looked fat in them... Getting rid of the 4 different sizes of clothes(12-18) I kept in my closet bc I knew I would regain the weight I lost regularly.... Never taking a picture in a bathing suit..l took my first bathing suit picture 2 months ago in Jamaica!!!! The lack of motivation and desire to be healthy.... And MOST importantly....the 66 pounds I have lost since being sleeved on 3/14!! I am so happy and healthy!! I run 5k races now, just finished yesterdays race in 35 minutes, I take spinning and Zumba, lift weights and am about to try crossfit!! I don't remember the last time I weighed 164....it was a LONG time ago! I won't miss being over 220 pounds ever again!! Great topic!
  10. You have done an amazing job already, you look amazing and most importantly healthy and happy!! I do think you should attempt to meet your personal goal just to show yourself that you can do it, and if you decide ten pounds from now that's enough and you don't want to lose 20 okay but at least you won't feel like you failed and didn't attempt to meet your goal. Congrats on being healthier and happier.
  11. I will be running 3 miles tomorrow and taking a hour spinning class on Sunday. I will also get some strength training in as well.
