  1. Thanks so much for keeping us posted!! I'm glad you let us know what it was like for you after surgery and glad it all went well. I've heard so much about the gas pains and that they hurt worse than the surgery itself. Hang in there! I've heard the first few weeks are a battle, but after that everything gets a lot easier. Can't wait to hear more from you. Congratulations!!
  2. It sure is tough not to let our nerves to hold of us, but we are all going to be GREAT!!
  3. Wow, you have your time and everything already. Can't wait to hear about your progress postop. Best of luck to you!
  4. We have a group that we started called April 2012 Sleeve Buddies. You can join that if you would like. It's great having that extra support when you need it. Good luck!!
  5. For those getting sleeved week of April 1 - Best of luck to you!! Can't wait to hear about how you are doing and about the wonderful transformations that are taking place for you. Remember, we are here to support you 100% preop and postop. Our journey has just begun .
  6. Well thank you very much!! It's the preop diet and making sure I get all my Water in. It makes such a difference eating healthy. I always feel so good when I eat the right way. I have more energy, my knees don't hurt, and I just feel good. That's why I don't understand why I just couldn't stick to it in the past. I know how great I feel, but I guess food is more like an addiction. Not anymore, taking control now .
  7. A hoho is a small chocolate cake with cream in the middle. Wow, it must be a pattern for 14 years old. I remember going into high school and I felt like I transformed from middle school. Then, since I basically starved myself, I started eating again and the weight just started to pack on. I really think that was the only time I was at a good weight. Well, we certainly knew what happened to me after that . One of the reasons that helped making my decision with the surgery, was my daughter, she's 8. My yoyo dieting has effected her, so I need to take control of my weight issues.
  8. Hi Jaime, Congrats on your upcoming surgery!! Best of luck to you too! Courtney
  9. That would be great if it was covered! Good luck to you!!
  10. Good luck with your consultation!
  11. I just talked to my surgeon's office yesterday about the same thing. I am getting sleeved on April 4. I am not allowed to drive for 7 days after my surgery and have to completely be off all pain meds.
  12. Wow, look at you!! You look amazing!! Congrats!
  13. Hi! Welcome to the group! Yes, the ninja is fantastic and it is not an expensive unit. I got mine on QVC and it comes with lots of extras which I love and will come in handy postop. I just made my first Protein Shake in it and it came out very smooth. Good luck on your preop appt. . .are you excited?? It is hard believe that April is on Sunday already!
  14. No problem! I just happened to notice that question for some odd reason
  15. You're funny!! Have a great holiday and enjoy yourself. I have once worn a bikini in my life, that's when I was 14 and I didn't eat . . . and by that I mean, the only thing I ate in a day was one snack, that's it. That was the only time I was ever thin. Even now if or I should say when, I get to goal, my body won't look good in a bikini after having 2 kids. I will probably still want to wear the skirtini. My husband said something funny to me, he said, "when you loose your weight can you please wear skinny jeans?" I just laughed because I cannot imagine myself wearing skinny jeans
  16. So true!! Yes, the benefits definately outweigh the risks. I am excited!! I'm excited to start fitting into my clothes that are stored in my closet that range in all different sizes. The lowest I have is size 12, so I will be shoppping when I need a smaller size . Nothing from last spring fits me since it's all too tight, so now is a perfect time to get it done. At least I won't have to start shopping for one size bigger, like I would have to do if I wasn't going to do this surgery. So excited!! Thanks for all your support!!
  17. Hi! There was just a post regarding the same question. All have said, you do not wear underwear in surgery. I think it would just get in the way. Plus, some surgeons use a cathetor also.
  18. Thank you so much for posting all of this information. My surgery is next Wednesday and this will be a great tool for me. It's pretty much right on target with my surgeon's advice.
  19. They both sound good. You can also write about weight loss surgery versus weight loss/ diet programs. Since weight loss surgery is being judged as being the easy way out (we all know the real truth in that one), and that we should just be able to lose it on our own with diet.
  20. Snoho, That's great news!! You will have the same surgery date as me
  21. Good luck tomorrow on your preop admission. It will really hit you tomorrow that you are doing this. It didn't really hit me until I had my admissions testing. April 10 is only 2 weeks away. That's going to go so fast!! I also have the same mental things going on in my head right now . . . my main one is, what if I fail or what if I lose and put all the weight back on again like all of my other weight loss attempts. Hang in there!! We are going to do great, be thin, and feel fantastic!!!
  22. Congratulations!!
  23. Snoho1, Congrats on your surgery date!! I went through the same thing last night with my husband. He just showed his true emotions to me last night . . . nothing like waiting to the last week . So now I am more nervous than I was before. However, I'm still 100% certain I'm doing the right thing, but all kinds of different emotions are coming out.
  24. Oh wow, that's fantastic!! Yes, I got the headache (it felt like a bad hangover) on the 3rd day. That was the only day that I felt like that. Fingers crossed that you will feel better tomorrow. Good luck!!
  25. Thanks for the update on your friend!! Yes, next week is the big day!! Just can't believe it. Met with my doctor today and everything looks great (bloodwork, kidneys, liver, chest, etc), so I got cleared for my surgery. Woohoo!!
