  1. Houston(Cypress) Banded 3-23-12 by Dr. Spigel
  2. I was told if I had surgery on Friday I could be back at work on Tuesday. Im not sure about that. My dr removed my gall bladder due to it being inflamed ao not sure if that prolonged my recovery or what but when Tuesday came around I was still relying on my pain meds like clock work so I figure I just needed to take a week off so I did and glad I did so when I went back to work I was good. Just dnt rush your recovery thats awesome that you have your husband there to help. Just stick to your dr instructions and you will do great. try not to over due anything. But walking is good so as long as your not lifting anything you will be ok. I was banded on 3-23. I have a 2 1/2 y/o son and thats good you have kiddos they will come in handy when it's time to exercise trust me. Congrats on starting your new life.....
  3. I have tried six star 26g protein it taste horrible but I chugged it so i got my protein. Wouldn't but it again. I do still get sunkist protein shots 24g of protein they taste pretty good. You can find them on amazon.com they are like $2.50. Hope this helps...
  4. I had that feeling the night b4 too. I was banded on 3-23 it was a struggle at 1st becuz i missed the the junk for I used to eat but trust me it gets better . Plus you find new foods you like and can adjust some of your old foods to make it more healthy for you. Your doing this for you and make sure you dnt lose focus. And having kids is a plus they are good exercise chasing them aound and playing with them. Good luck and and keep us posted!!! Congrats on this new chapter in your life.....
  5. I didn't stay overnight I made sure I would be out the same day only becuz Im a single mom to a 2y/o little boy so I needed to get home. But i stayed in the hospital all day 1pm-9pm. They were so sweet and so attending. Your 1st day will be ok it's the 2nd and 3rd where you will be relying on meds more. But trust me it gets better. Just stick to what your dr tells you for your after care and you will be great. Congrats on getting banded!!!
  6. I agree with everyone else call your dr ASAP
  7. Oh wow! Well 1st off I appreciate reading about ppl exp with certain drugs whether it be otc or rx. Nobody on here is a dr and we know we should check with our dr they are just trying to help. Plus it's a forum you can post whatever you want. Just because you dnt think it's right doesn't mean everyone else feels the same. And I would be glad to take some advice from Elcee anyday......
  8. Hey Manda I do suffer from anxiety and have been for many years. Unlike you I take medication to control panic attacks however since being banded I have not taking any medication or needed it for that matter, I was banded on 3-23-12 and have been doing good. Exercising helps me also. Congrats on getting banded!!! I worked myself up right b4 my surgery and then afterwards I was like I worked myself for nothing. But I do understand it's the fear of the unknown. you dnt know how you will be or feel. But that's y this website is here to help you and for support. If you have any questions or you need to vent or freak out just come on here and do it. If you have any questions or just wanna talk message me...Good luck

  16. nicole1095 posted a blog entry in Self Acceptance
I struggle with self acceptance and Im not sure y? I hoping with the weight loss and more respect for myself this will no longer be an issue. I have always wanted to fit in with my girlfriends but I feel I stand out like a sore thumb. I used to be a social butterfly and now a days im a hermet crab. I struggle with being around a crowd of people It makes me very anxious. Im not my normal bubbly friendly self. Im shy quiet and come off rude and snobby but by no means am I any of that. With this weight loss journey im on im hopping to find me again. Lose weight and gain self acceptance and I know I can do it with support and motivation. And When I go out I can feel great and have a good time instead of worrying about hiding my fat rolls or when I sit down can you see my back fat.....My goal is to go out have fun for me and no one else and look great doing it...... Being a single mom I don't go out often so this will be all new to me again. It's a chore to get me to go to the store then I have to worry about what Im going to wear (not to look cute) just to make sure I don't look like a clown in clothes that are to tight or that don't fit me. I usually wear jeans and an oversized t-shirt that way Im covered and don't feel suffocated. So im just kinda of rambling on then point of my blog is to gain self acceptance back. I have taken responsibility for me being overweight and out of shape now I want my self acceptance back and I WILL GET IT!!!!
  17. So with this new journey that im on i have been thinking alot about bathing suit shopping. Keeping in mind i haven't owned a bathing suit in about 8 years. When ever we go to the beach or lake i usually wear tank top and shorts no big deal or I just don't go becuz lets be real im a bigger person and i sweat in heat and i hate to be hot. So with my on day 4 of my post op and 16lbs lighter im looking toward summer and all the fun things i plan on doing with my 2y/o son. On the other hand how comfortable am I going to be showing off that much skin?? My 1st reaction is like HELL YEA!! show off my hard work but I didn't do it for anybody but me. So im struggling mentally what kind of bathing suit will i get? will i still cover up? how comfortable will i feel? So much to think about..... But im really missing the big picture here I WILL FINALLY HAVE OPTIONS!!!!!! Like b4 going in2 a store like lane bryant and spending $100 on a swim suit that i don't really like or going into a store and just getting a plain black one that supposed to hide everything. Now I will be able to go into diff stores try on whatever I want and in diff colors and won't have to pay extra for the bigger size!!!! So excited for that!!!!!
  18. Getting banded Friday and Im still so confused on what kinda of powder drinks to have? My dr's office has some stuff but it's pretty expensive. What kinda od recipes does anyone have for post op when I can start eating food again? Also what vitamins are you taking they gave me a list and at my dr office they are $62 kinda pricey? Thank you for any help!!!!! Today is my last day to eat anyhthing I start my liquid diet tomorrow. Getting excited and nervous!!!!!!!
  19. So pre-op went good and all registered. Surgery is friday not sure of the time yet they will call me thursday. I guess I didn't realize how much the post-op protien shakes would be. Does anybody have any good advice where to get good protien shakes at a reasonable price?
