Itchy Scalp Question
- Help!
Most often a drop in blood pressure for a post op vsg is due to one of two things. Most commonly it will be from dehydration. Even a moderate dehydration can cause the lightheadedness and dizzy feeling. Especially when you stand up. The blood rushes down to legs( which is why drink fluids and lay down and put feet up) it gels get that blood moving back to your heart and brain again and the fluid will help with the volume which will help raise the pressure so that your heart can deliver the blood to all the arteries, etc. Another common reason is if you are on blood pressure medication, sometimes after a a significant weight loss or drop, all of a sudden your blood pressure starts to bottom out after taking your meds and you need to have doc adjust dose or discontinued.- In Hospital Unexpectedly
So glad it didn't turn out worse. Take care of yourself and I'm wishing you a speedy recovery. Congrats on the 32 pounds, that's amazing!- No Carb Protein Bread!
I am also curios to how this sits. Does it digest better than bread would?- Pain In Heart & Lungs
I would call your doc just to be safe.- Biggest Loser Winner Is Raven8888
Thanks, I was just coming out of a stall in all fairness, and I think the scale decided to catch up with the inches. Not sure if I can keep that rate up forever. But I will take it where I can get it. Everyone did so great. The numbers on the scale only tell part of the journey we are all going through. The real change happens within.- Biggest Loser Winner Is Raven8888
Thank you! I love my sleeve!- Help!
Yeah, drink fluids and see if bp is down. Lay down, put your legs up for a little bit.- Sugery To Remove My Stricture This Morning!
Good luck! I'm sending you good thoughts for a fast speedy recovery. I hope this will be the end to your complications. Hang in there.- Very Tired
My doc has me on the sublingual B-12 daily. You can get it at Gnc stores. Helps a little. I'm at about 5 weeks andstill have some trouble with fatigue. However, my calories are still low and it's hard to get a lot of energy when you don't have enough to pull it from yet. I have good days and tired days. Just listen to your body and from what I've learned hear that will continue to improve.- Biggest Loser Weigh In
I just looked back at my thread, my starting weight last Sunday was 191, so only 6 pounds since last Sunday. I accidentally looked at my recorded Saturday weight of last week. Either way I have melted in the past 8 days! It's still a huge victory and so glad to be rid of my first stall! I have been walking around with my new theme song in my head from flash dance, you all know the one. Haha!- Biggest Loser Weigh In
I am on fire this week! last Sunday I was stalled at the same number for two weeks. I was a little worried I would end up weighing in with no loss or just one pound maybe. This past week, I stepped up my exercise, worked on getting my fluids in better, and kept a closer eye on the hidden carbs and I am pleased to report....... Drum roll....... A loss of 9 pounds! Official scale reading this morning is 185!!! That is a total of 26 pounds since surgery day on may 14th. I have 16 inch overall loss across my body. I like this challenge, I think it helped something switch on for me, haha! I went to kohls yesterday and got a couple tshirts in one size down.! Woohoo!- Dear Stallers And Not Losing Weighters
I wanted to add, I just went through that 3 week stall. I expected it from reading this site. I did measurements instead. I stayed at the same weight for two weeks. However, I dropped a combined 3 1/2 inches inthat time. All of a sudden this past week, no joke, I have dropped 8 pounds. So just don't keep looking at the scale. It will happen.- Waiting To Go Swimming?
My doc okay'ed me at two weeks.- When Can You Start Taking Whole Pills Without Crushing Them?
My doc said as tolerated after two weeks.- Freshly Sleeved
At two weeks my NUT said she was more concerned about the protien intake than the calories. She said we didn't have to pay too close attention to it quite yet because she doubted we could even get in that much and gave us a 900 max. However, she was right, even when I think I have eaten more in one day, when I add up the calories I am still under 500 and I am 4 weeks now. Just can't fit in that much yet. It's really hard to get 600 calories in (when you are eating the right kind of foods anyway) So I just focus on the protien and try to make every bite count. I'm sure once the diet is back to regular solids and she wants me to try and consume more calories I will have to figure that out without adding too many carbs and fats.- Refried Beans
I made the pasta free lasagna from the world according to egg face. That was pretty good. Only could take in a few bites, but tasted good and made me feel full.- Not The Best Post Op Week
I'm so sorry! I had complications in my first week as well. It gets better, just hang in there. I know how it feels, it's har enough , let alone having more things compound the situation. To be honest, my fist two weeks were hell. But after everything was corrected and I got back on track with recovery it was 10 times better. I will send you my prayers. Take care and keep us posted.- Refried Beans
It's really not bad. Like I said, just wanted to whine a little about it, just was hoping because I like the taste. Honestly, I tolerate more than I thought. I think if it was thinned down to soup it wouldn't really satisfy the taste buds in the same way. It may get better. Every week I try something that I couldn't tolerate a week before. A lot of trial and error. Some just leave a bigger impressionthan others with the amount of discomfort it presents. I go to solids in a couple weeks, that will be another adventure. I figure there is not really one food anymore that is worth Getting sick over and it's better to just take your time with it. I'm aloud to have mashed potatoes with dry milk and nectar protien and that can be very satisfying. I can also have these coco cereal and milk and pretzels and chips that is the doctors own brand for bariatric patients. They dissolve fast and are easily digested. They satisfy my chewing and crunchy textures nicely. I appreciate all your suggestions. Thank you.- Refried Beans
Thank you for the suggestion. I am not allowed eggs yet. I know a lot of people are at 4 weeks but I want to try and stick with the diet plan my doc and nut want me to be on. I took a couple bites of my sons scrambled eggs and got very sick and had pain. So, I'm not going to break his rules again. . Once I can add eggs I will try that and see if it helps.- Refried Beans
Yep it's strang how some things it doesn't tolerate. I can have pureed tuna fish, pureed ground beef, and pureed chicken just fine. You would think that would be harder to digest. Guess beans are just out for me.- Refried Beans
- Refried Beans
I'm so jealous of everyone on mushies that has refried beans! It is so strange, but I cannot tolerate them. I waited a couple weeks and tried them again yesterday....nope...felt like a golf ball was stuck in my diaphram, terrible feeling. Even after just first couple baby spoons. My sleeve does not like the refried beans, even after watering them down. They just taste so good! I want them to work, grrr! lol! Anyway, I'm just whining. I shouldn't complain, I can tolerate the dairy pretty well and I know some people struggle with that. I'm not sure what I would do if dairy was out too. Anyone else have a hard time with one of the common foods like refried beans? Also...while I am on here posting...I have been craving a nice crunchy salad. (better that then frensh fries) I know I am still weeks away from this (4 weeks post-op) but just wondering when a small salad is something my little tummy can handle? Just want to know average time post -op solids something like that is introduced. Just curious.- Biggest Loser Weigh In
Can I squeak in? I weighed in Sunday morning at 191.- Getting Out Of Bed
I had to roll to my side first and slowly push myself up using only my arms and not my stomach. A couple times I remember just kind of rolling off the bed until my feet were down, then start to stand up. It will get better. - Help!
