  4. Missy~ I cant tell you which one I read it on but I did see a post on here where a person had the op in one hospital 3 hrs from her home and did get the fills from a doctor close to home. If I can find it, I will let you know but I do know you can do this.
  5. NW Houston, (Cypress)....Not banded yet. Hoping for Aug/Sept.
  6. Fantastic, B-52! Not banded yet, and your post came in at just the right time. Feeling rather ..."what am I doing?" time? HAPPY FOR YOU!!! pssst~~~~~wear them tight tee's! After all, 1952 was a great year!
  7. Dy~ You have come to the right site here. It is absolutely wonderful and everyone is so helpful. I have not got my band yet. My insurance wants me to go through 6 mons before I have my surgery. So I am looking at surgery date of Aug/Sept. When I was first told this, it depressed me. I wanted it RIGHT AWAY! But now I am glad because everyday I think of something new, look at it in a different light. I am tired of feeling and looking like Jabba the hut. So, read on, my dear. You will find that the positive entries excite you and out weigh the negative. Take your time. Good luck, new friend! Let us all know how your doing!
  8. Well, well, well Mrs Clooney! Aren't you a hot shot?....he he....YES YOU ARE! I enjoyed reading this! I have not had my surgery yet but scheduled for Aug/Sept and the last of Oct. I will be going to Rome. Join me? I am extremely happy for you!!!!
  9. I have not gone through the surgery yet but I have gone through 60 yrs of life. And stating that, people can be soooo totally rude! I have heard "helpful" (not!) advise on just about everything in life, from giving birth to having bowel movements~~~(hmmmm, strange those 2 things came to mind, eh?) and believe me, DON'T LISTEN TO THAT BULL@#$%! As a wise man told my hubby before his heart surgery...."Your fondest dreams and worse nightmares never come true." Good luck lillesday! And please stay tuned in Aug/Sept to calm me down when I am going in!
  10. WOW...I woke up this Sunday morning and I have new friends and sista's! Elcee,Gottobeme and Sasha, this is what the nurses told me. I would be out before the gas was given. Hypnosis, I never heard of this. This is very interesting. I was kinda wondering about what Sage said. It has been a long time and I have had the laughing gas at the dentist and didnt freak out. I am hoping that I will be where Muelle was,.....lol....OUT OF IT and not giving a s#$t. Thank you all, seriously! This is a wonderful site. I am so glad you are all here!!
  11. I would like to hear from those of you who have already had the surgery. I am suppose to have it in Aug/Sept. My biggest fear is the gas. They ~the nurses~said that a shot is administered that puts you to sleep and then they give you the gas. I have had traumatic episodes with gas. Although a long time ago. 30 -40 years ago. Hallucinations, couldn't go under, etc. Can any of you give me some insight into this? This really is petrifying me! Thanks, Kathie
  12. Hi everyone! I am a newbie here! Waiting for my surgery. Should be sometime in Aug or Sept, I hope! I have read so many of your great, supportive threads! What a great bunch of people. We will talk soon, wink, wink!
