  2. So my doctor tells me I should be on 2weeks sugar free clear liquids, the bariatric dietitian at the hospital says I should be doing 1 week clear, 1week full liquids then pureed and so on and when the hospital called they asked if I was on pureed(im 10 days post op)..im so confused..im going with what the dietitian says but I was curious what others post op diets are(I know there all different)
  3. Everyone has a different e experience regarding pain..I see alot of people who had mild/ almost non existent to people who had a bad pain. I personally was in pain the first 2 nights. I was given the iv that I control, alot of nausea medication, morphine, Tylenol with codeine and regular Tylenol drips. Nothing was working. Im over a week out and im fine..definitely worth a few days of discomfort
  4. I have bcbs and I was approved with just the 6mo diet and letter from my dr. Needless to say I had to still do millions of tests and 3 support groups psych eval..before I could have the surgery(surgeons requirements)..bcbs covered everything
  5. My dr told me using gas x was pointless because it wasn't "that kind of gas" I tried it anyway and it did nothing. Walking works the best
  6. I was in topomax for 2 years. I had so many dental problems because of it and my mouth and head hurt all the time..Its off label use for weight loss did nothing for me. I would suggest to anyone unless you medically need it don't use it
  7. Im 24 and My cardiac consults consisted of an ekg, treadmill stress test, and a heart echocardiogram. Nothing major. Its just procedure for surgery. Tests are like 15 minutes each tops
  8. Pre op diet is to shrink your liver for surgery. I had a week of full liquids and lost 4 or 5lbs
  9. I tried my brothers gold standard 100% whey vanilla. I wasn't a fan but I put it in lactaid milk and also put in sf carnation instant breakfast..it was pretty decent. I think its like 24g of protein
  10. I love premier it tastes so good but that's whats giving me the heavy gross feeling. I never was good with milk
  11. Is injury unflavored disgusting..can you taste it?
  12. But its making me feel heavy and disgusting. I think its the milk..I know there are milk free protein powders/drinks(that isn't isopure). Maybe something unflavored or chocolate/vanilla . What are some good ones that aren't nasty?
  13. I get so thirsty and all I can do is sip..im going nuts
  14. You use no taste protein powder in the smoothies?
  15. Is this something im going to be doing forever or can I drink normally eventually?
  16. I never had what u had but when I was pre op I used isopure bottles(green apple and alpine punch were ok). They aren't the best but they were clear protein. Since im a week post op and on full liquids I got chocolate and vanilla premier protein shakes from costco and they are pretty good
  17. Did your doctor say you can have full liquids?..im on clear for a week then starting Monday im doing full liquids..not sure what your doctors post op instructions are id ask about the cream soup
  18. I ate what I wanted up until pre op diet..gained 10lbs to..I think I ate a dozen donuts the night before pre op diet started. Its really not a good thing to do plus it will only make it more weight to lose
  19. So I took prilosec and I felt 100x better. Unfortunately I started itching like crazy. It never use to make me do that..is this normal?
  20. Im going to costco tomorrow and getting the premier shakes which I heard were decent..even the Tylenol with codeine makes me sick but im still hurting so I have to take it quick then put a different flavor in my mouth like jello or apple juice
  21. Im still on Clear liquids till Monday so now im stuck with just Jello..isopure which I am gagging down..water..icepops which are kinda giving me a hard time ..water and apple juice Monday I can have full liquids which im looking forward to Im glad im not the only one
  22. I was sleeved on 4/23...and the thought of some food is making me want to vomit. Broth is one of them I just had to dump out a large tub of it because every time I open my fridge I get sick. I was fine with it up until yesterday..Does this happen to anyone else?
  23. I just got sleeved Monday. The woman who I shared a room with had her lap band removed due to erosion and during surgery they found a huge amount of scar tissue they had to removed. Definitely not a normal case but when she said she should have done the sleeve which made me feel so much better about my decision
