  1. I have to take a calcium Vitamin too. The first 10 days taking it was NOT fun. I had to smash it in a baggie and take it with a spoon of sugar free Cool Whip, but now I can swallow it with no problem. I'm 2 weeks out. I don't know about you, but I have an arsenal of vitamins/meds I take daily as indicated by my Dr...17 total! I never thought I'd say this, but I'm getting tired of CHOCOLATE! But chocolate is the best flavor in whey Protein to me (french vanilla is just nasty).Costo/SAMs club sells a delicious ready made protein choc shake Premier Protien 30g protein. Also EAS choc fudge 17g is good! I add a cup of frozen strawberry slices to the whey strawberry mix and blend. Oh, one last thing, 20oz. Cytomax Protein Drink 40g protein in watermelon and tropical are great! Drink in 2-3 sessions as your body can only process about 25g of protein at a time. Best of Luck!!!
  2. Thanks for the info! I'm going to keep taking the meds and vitamins and get some hydrocortisone cream. First check up is Tuesday. I'm "itching" to tell him all about it!
  3. Hey everyone, I was sleeved on Dec 29th and doing fabulous! Except I am SOOO itchy! Around my incisions, stomach, arms, etc. I also have little breakouts of rashes. Is this normal? Is this allergies? Is it the meds/vitamins I'm taking? It's just so...irritating! 4. Hi Mona! Welcome! Get ready for your incredible journey! It won't be easy, but not impossible. It will rewarding, yet challenging. You found a good home here. Best of Luck!
  5. So I'm home now! Yay! Two days in the hospital because of low grade fever and high blood pressure. Things are fine now...but the first 12 hours were very hard, not possible, put VERY uncomfortable. Coughing, gas, and taking out the drainage tube was the WORST. Just take pain killers every chance you get! I haven't lost any weight post-op because of the gallons of fluid they pumped into me. I'm bloated as a balloon, but I know that will change. No regrets. I'm waiting to toast the new year with chicken broth in a champagne glass! My resolution has already started...CHEERS 2012 SLEEVERS!
  6. Thanks for the well wishes! I'm checked on and waiting to be called back
  7. Hello losers and soon to be losers Today is my sleeve day!!! I check in at 10:30, surgery at 12:30. So while you are sipping on your lunch Protein shakes, say a little prayer or positive thought for me BeyonSleeve
  8. Glad things are going well for you! I haven't had my surgery yet (Dec 29th is my day). Good luck and stay strong
  9. Indil, I'm so happy for you! The biggest hurdle is done! Stay focused and your surgery will be here in no time BeyondSleeve
  10. Well... I got an early birthday present today...my surgery date! Finally, after 9 months of appointments, check-ups, waiting, and anticipating, I'm going to be sleeved Dec. 28th! My birthday is Thursday and I will be 37 (woo.hoo.) Crazy thing is, I don't even want to have a big dinner with drinks, and that is sooo not me. I'm just really ready for this change. What a WONDERFUL b-day, Christmas, and New Year present! Also, I met my deductible for the year, so my surgery is VERY affordable! Smiling, Smiling,Smiling... 11. Way to go! Nothing like a single digit clothing size, Congrats!
  12. I teach school and ALWAYS have an oscillating fan on, windows open, and short sleeves. Kids have to wear parkas in my room! Lol, hoping to break that cycle after surgery!
  13. Wow Mona 777! I bet you are super excited! I pray that everything goes well for you I'm getting all my testing (heart, lungs, bloodwork, etc) as I type. My consultation is on 12/6 too! Hoping to get a surgery date before the new year! Best of Luck!!!
  14. I am sooo battling the same thing! I've only told my immediate family, 2 supportive friends, and one coworker (after 3 glasses of wine). I trust them all, so I'm not worried about that. I'm a teacher also, and I don't know how to tell my principal. Is saying "personal surgery" info enough if I'm going to be out for a week? I'm still praying for it to fall during winter break. I know the teachers, students, and parents will start to notice, but I don't know if I want to devulge that personal info. I feel people will judge wether I hear it or not...then on the other hand, SO WHAT, it may help someone too... BeyoncSleeve
  15. Carrie, Don't give up! Waiting is a pain, but we have to jump through those hoops to get to our goal. I decided 9 months ago to begin my journey. Now I'm down to a round of testing and my consultation/set the date on Dec. 6th. It is worth it, and I can see that you are determined. As Journey says, "Don't stop believin' "... BeyoncSleeve
  16. Sleeve Guru, I have the SAME questions! I was just approved by Humana. Having testing done Dec 1st, consultation with doc on Dec. 6th and will get the surgery date then. I'm PRAYING that it will get done before Jan. 1st because I've met my deductible and don't want to pay an extra $2000+!!! Plus I'm a teacher and will have 2 weeks to recooperate My goals are: 1. Follow sleeve rules 2. Exercise 3. Get off meds 4. Get off CPAP 5. Lower blood pressure 6. Not be pre-diabetic 7. Increase my energy 8. Like what I see in the mirror 9. Continue to be happy within 10. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE myself I'm praying for you! Best of luck!
  17. My pre-op appointment is Dec. 1st too! Good luck, and don't be nervous, it's going to be amazing!
