  1. You look beautiful! Congrats on your successes! And, I love that hairstyle in your after pic!
  2. So my sleeve journey is in it's infant stage and I'm learning and changing as I go. I'm 9 days p/o. Just found out the hard way that you can overeat, better yet, overdrink your sleeve. I had 2 sips too many and upchucked a meal of protein shake. That's what I get, I've commented on several posts that "I don't feel any real restriction" blah blah blah... Well I jus felt some real restriction for my butt!
  3. My best friend asked on the day of surgery, "how soon will you see results?" lol. I told her as soon as my big butt starts eating right and exercising!
  4. Keep the faith guys!! I realized once you get to the other side, part of the reason for the pre-op diet is to get you prepared for the post-op diet!!! The mental part of the diet is just as important as the physical weight loss, plus they call the pre-op weight loss forever weight loss so it sounds cool :-p ! Good luck to all of you!
  5. I'm with you on the smells and the hormones unfortunately!
  6. I wouldn't say mine were severe but I did have cramps after introducing refried beans 2 days ago, so I stopped and went back to clears for 1 day then full liquids the next day. I took 2 full days for my sleeve to "calm down" after that. If yours continues definitely let your doc know. Good luck, I hope you feel better.
  7. I'm thinking the refried beans were just a terrible choice for a first food. I feel like it's taking forever to "work" them back out. I took it easy today related to eating and just took in fluids and an ice pop. If I feel better I'll try something else tomorrow.
  8. Too funny! All you ladies are doing so well!
  9. I too have PCOS exacerbated by weight. I have been taking Quasense the generic for Seasonale for 4 months and so far so good. I did notice the smallest amount of light, pink on the tissue 2 days post op so I'm not sure what that was all about. I should have a regular period 2.5 months from now. My biggest fear is getting pregnant prior to reaching my goal weight. Hubby and I will be very cautious until then!
  10. Thanks for the response. Being a newbie I have all sorts of wild questions and I just had to ask that one!
  11. I'm 7 days post op and started refried beans today. I had about 1-2 tablespoons mixed with water. It felt ok going down, I felt full and stopped when I noticed the thick feeling in my throat telling me I had gone to far. Fast forward 5-6 hours later and I am having a mild, dull pain in my stomach. I am totally full and have not had anything else today except sips of water. I'm wondering if what I'm experiencing is gas pain or something else. I'm definitely gonna take my diet back to fluids for a few days but is it possible to stretch or cause a leak with a meal of refried beans. Help!!!
  12. Weigh to go! I had surgery 3/13 as well.
  13. Congrats on getting approved! Best of luck to you!!!
  14. I am 5 days post op and I feel exactly the same way. I posted twice on this same subject elsewhere. I would have posted even more but I fear folks will think ima whiner. I'm just not "feeling" this big change yet and of course I'm impatient. I know that I didn't get this way over night but it still sux to not have that instant gratification! I feel for those who had a more rough post op period, but I'm struggling to relate. I had a large hiatal hernia repair as well and I seem to be tolerating everything I put into my mouth so far! I'm getting 50- 60 grams of protein and 70 oz of fluid, so my point is I'm scared too. Good luck to you!
  15. I have two year old twin boys who wear me down when I'm 100% ! My mom and husband have been life savers this first week. I also have been taking a daily nap just to make it through the day! We took an hour long trip to the grocery store and it wore me down. Good luck to you.
  16. Same feelings here! Yesterday I was very upset that my family was eating things I could not. Even the sound of my husband chewing was bothering me. I feel better today but I'm sure I'll have other rough days. Hang in there!!
  17. I was sleeved 3/13 and had 1 full Atkins shake over a 24 hour period on Thursday. I also have the concentrated liquid protein shots that I mix with powerade. Yesterday I was able to get in 60gm of protein for the first time. It was tough!!! I'm sure I won't be able to do it today!
  18. I felt the same way when I was supposed to start my 2 week preop diet. I flat out binged on fast-food the first 3 days (not saying this to encourage you to do that). But it was just hard for me too. I finally started my liquid diet for 1.5 wks and lost 10lbs before surgery this past Tuesday. Mentally I was exhausted. Good luck to you, so far it seems worth it when you get to the other side!
  19. I had my surgery 3/13 and my pain has been manageable. Mild incision pain, occassional stomach or gas pain. I didn't eat much the first two days, just 150 cc total. Starting today it seems I am famished! I'm wondering if I'm the only big butt that the sleeve isn't going to work for. I know that gherlin remains in the system a while post op but I'm going crazy. I'm limiting my portions out of fear I will burst something and not necessarily out of a strong sense of feeling full. I'm doing only liquids at 4 days out but I feel like I could go for a cheeseburger and fries! I'm trying to get my fluids and protein in but mentally I'm wanting a full meal. What's wrong with me!!!!
  20. Surgery 3/13 so I'm 4 days out. I'm hoping some veterans will respond to your post because I have the same question. I didn't eat much the first two days, just 150 cc total. 21. I hope to be able to go to a public bathroom and use the regular stall and not the handicapped or family restroom. Seriously, my bottom is so large that in a regular restroom there is not enough room for me to get to my butt! (sorry for the tmi)
