  1. WHOOT WHOOT!!! So happy there is now an APP! I love to read this forum all the time...especially while I am waiting somewhere like a doctor's office! now it will be easier!!!
  2. I think the only problem you will have being in the wedding 10 days post op is the dress may be a little baggy...good luck on your journey!
  3. I got mine from Amazon for about $25 it weighs up to 440 lbs..but i found that it actually goes higher than that...mine is made by Taylor and is glass with silver on the bottom...it looks like this one... http://www.walmart.com/ip/Taylor-ULTRA-Thick-Glass-Electronic-DigitalBath-Scale-Model-75194192/11089592 . I originally found it at Wal-Mart but I am an AVID Amazon shopper because I can ALWAYS find better deals. It's almost as if the scale isn't there taunting me every morning because it kind of blends in.
  4. I can see others have posted in this section but I can't see the posts....
  5. The ONLY things I will buy at Wal-Mart are household items. All my grocery shopping is done elsewhere. I won't even buy my dog food at Wal-Mart. I have seen the inside of their Distribution Center in my area...DISGUSTING!
  6. Are you supposed to lose a certain amount of your excess weight within a certain time frame?
  7. I work for the produce industry and can tell you that each distribution center will get different crops of produce but the distribution center that delivers to all the walmarts in your region will get the same crop...so most likely the 50 other walmarts in your area got the same bug infested peppers. Because Wal-Mart is such a HUGE chain that is best known for their cheap prices they buy the cheap crappy produce that others won't touch. I shop at Kroger or HEB for my produce or go to a local Farmer's Market. FYI though, you can put all that produce into a bag and take it back to Wal-Mart. You will get your money back. If you were to ever have an issue with a product that my company makes, and yes we are sold in Wal-Mart stores, then not only does Wal-Mart give you the money back but they contact me and I issue a check for the amount of purchase as well. Not saying that will happen in this case because tryin to trace bulk produce back is tedious and sometimes to difficult...but our product has a special code date so I can look it up and see where it was made, when it was made and what shift it was made on.
  8. AWESOME! I love my doc too! I think that really really helps! Dr. Alanis answers all my questions and his nurse is AMAZING! He is the first surgeon I have actually felt 100% comfortable with! So happy that I found him! What are your stats now?
  9. Yes we can! I so can't wait! Just praying at this point everything happens over the next week that I need it to so I can actually go through with the surgery! All the ducks have to line up..ya know! Where are you having your surgery at?
  10. Depends on who you are flying on...however...if you can sit in a standard 17" seat without major overflow you will be fine...if there is overflow then either try and get a seat that has noone right next to you.
  11. Thank you all so much...just knowing that I have a place that I can go to vent and that people understand means more than you know. I refuse to let this beat me. I am going to win my battle. One day at a time.
  12. I got a horrible phone call from my son's school today because he got into trouble. It made me sooo mad and when I got off the call all I wanted to do was eat! and eat some more! and then eat some more! I know that I am an emotional eater. I have come to grips with this. So today..since I am on my preop and I hadn't had lunch I got my cottage cheese out and ate it instead of the junk food that I wanted to go and get...Im still mad...and I still want to eat the junk...but I am going to make better choices...
  13. I am trying to tell it to shut up....I have been trying to focus on all the positives that WILL happen WHEN I lose the weight...maybe this is my version of head hunger...lol....my brain doesn't want me to lose the weight...so it is trying to pysch me out now...
  14. I don't know if I have just let all the negative comments get to me or if I really think that I am destined to weigh over 400 pounds for the rest of my life...but today I have been thinking...what if I spend all this money and it still doesn't work....what do I do then? I can't return it and get my money back. Is there any chance that this won't work? I mean I know that I have to follow the diet and I am good with that...heck I have started the preop already and I am not supposed to for another week...I am dedicated and really want this to work...but am I setting myself up for failure? Is it going to work for me? I really just want to cry because there are so many things going on in my head that are scaring me know...I have no idea why this suddenly just started, maybe it is the fact that I see the pyschiatrist tomorrow and I think he is going to tell me I am too crazy to do this...heck I don't know! HELP!
  15. I found a protein shake that I REALLY LIKE and it has 42 grams of protein! Very excited about this!! EAS Myoplex! WONDERFULLL!! and I can add fruit to the vanilla for a different flavor!!
  16. my surgeons diet guidelines show any creamy soup (potatoe included) to be on this stage...no large chunks! You should be good to go!
  17. Day 1 down...wasn't all that rough....tomorrow at work will be worse i think...
  18. So I am enjoying my last soda and already enjoyed a marvelous dinner out with family...of course I didn't say anything about starting my preop tomorrow because I didn't want to hear any rude comments..I'm very excited about it though...water, water, water, jello, cottage cheese, creamy soups, and yogurt...I know it will probably get old but I don't care...I am doing this for my son...I want to see him grow...I am pumped. In 18 days I will be sleeved and sitting proudly on the losers bench!!!!
  19. I have only had one person be as excited for me as I am for myself....my family are not supportive at all so I don't even talk about it with them. It's sad that others enjoy the misery of their loved ones but it is true. I am ecstatic about my decision so my Outlook now is screw everyone who isn't happy for me...I'm gonna rock this!
  20. Oh it does suck! I plan on not being single next year! lol.
  21. just curious..but why would you want to go back to the bad food?
  22. Well I could walk a mile in my fat suit...it would just take a few hours...and there would be LOTS of stops! lol. I plan on having another child after I get down to a healthier weight...and my Obgyn and surgeon said that there would be NO issue with that..
  23. Oh honey I feel ya! I am still 23 days away from being sleeved and the ONLY family support I have is my cousins husband whom I normally cant stand! My grandparents (who raised me) are both deceased but if they were alive I KNOW that they would back me 100%. Honestly, the reason my other family members don't support me is because they are jealous. I don't even talk about it with them anymore and I have found that I really don't care to see or speak to them. They are my family, if they can't support me and be happy then forget them. In your case though, I would say to my mom that if she can't understand the reasons that you chose to have this particular surgery is so that you are healthy and will live longer to be around and raise the one child that you already have and the (insert your own number) children that you and your husband want to have in the future, and she can either like it or lump it but the surgery is over and done so they can't put your stomach back. Also, next time she says that she would have jumped in front of them as they wheeled you to the OR...tell her you had given them strict instructions to mow down ANYONE that got in the way! "Skinny" people will NEVER understand the issues that "Fat" people go through on a daily basis. Until they have walked a mile in a fat suit they can't truly understand the physical and emotional pain that most of us endure and even place on ourselves.
  24. I actually started walking around my block in the evening and walking around my parking garage a few times at lunch. I also started eating better, smaller portions and occasionally I am even replacing a big meal with a protein shake or a yogurt. I know that it is helping already as I have been feeling MUCH better and may have lost a couple of pounds...but I am REFUSING to step onto the scale until my first OFFICIAL day of the preop diet.
