  1. That is AWESOME!! Keep us posted!
  2. Im interested in doing anything! I just want to get out and get healthy! I am being sleeved on 3/1 and will be starting my preop diet on 2/14..but I figured meeting up and getting to know others in my area before hand would be a great plan!
  3. I can totally see the changes! You look AWESOME!!!! I hope to do as well as you have!!
  4. I am over 60, in fact mine is 70. My Dr said he wouldn't do an rny on me until I was at a 55. Works for me though cause I have no desire to be rerouted. I want to maintain as close to a normal eating life as I can...meaning getting all my nutrients from food and no immediate bathroom trips after eating something. I'm more than happy to gradually drop the weight over the next year or so if it means that everything is still connected as god intended.
  5. I used to work in the insurance world...most companies will only allow you to cover your spouse, children or children that they are the guardian for. Also, you would have to be under the age requirement, which for most is 24 and still enrolled in college or school of some sort.
  6. That is so EXCITING!! I hope I do that well! Where did you have your surgery done at?
  7. YAY!!!!! Office manager called me back and I am good to go! This takes me to the final step (other than the preop diet)! SO EXCITED!! I actually did the happy dance!
  8. 36 more days until my surgery and I ABSOLUTELY can't wait! I know that I may have a hard time after the surgery but I don't care! The thought of having more of a chance to be around for my son as he grows is wonderful to me! The thoughts of being able to shop in other stores that the few that are for "plus size" people is wonderful to me! I don't know if there are any others out there that are scheduled in March already but I am and I thought I would get this party started!!
  9. I too have a BMI over 60, my surgeon said he wouldn't do the RNY on me at this stage because it would be difficult to recover from with my size being so big. He said I would have to start with the sleeve and then if I choose he would do the RNY. I have no desire to be rerouted anyways so I have made the decision to work my sleeve (once I get it) and lose all the weight possible. If I never get down to my ideal then that is okay with me, just knowing I will be healthier works for me! Also, like you other than being the size I am I don't have any health problems. Which completely amazes the doctor.
  10. If only I had insurance! My company doesn't offer it yet so all my medical is self pay, which sucks! I think I may have found one for $125, but the office manager has to call me back..crossing my fingers!
  11. My friend suggested that I do some cooking in advance for my 6 year old and freeze it..so that is what I plan on doing. Im not a big taster while I cook unless it is something sweet (wonder why my butt got so big?) so I can make him meals and not sabotage myself thankfully! But I will look forward to the day that he and I can have the same meals again (I will just eat much, much less)
  12. So, even though I am paying cash the surgery center/hospital is still making me see a therapist for the evaluation. My doctor gave me a list of ones that he uses but they are all on the other side of Houston and I can't take more time off of work so I was hoping to do it after I got off or during lunch. I have called SEVERAL different ones and they all are upwards of $300! That is INSANE to me!
  13. That sounds awesome! Does the other group currently meet up?
  14. I was going to check meetup if I didn't find anyone here....I need additional support because my family isn't at all! I think even if we met once a month for coffee or dinner or a game night or something then that would be amazing. My surgery is scheduled on 3/1 but I want to build connections before hand...
  15. I'm in conroe but don't mind driving!!
  16. I would love to meet up with current and future sleeved people to chat and swap secrets...are there any?
  17. I'm truly looking forward to getting to know people here... And thanks! Your kind words have made me feel welcome.
  18. I am 5'7" and on last weigh in I weighed 446...Im set to be sleeved on 3/1/2012 and was curious if there were any aready sleeved people out there with my stats that might could direct me in what to expect...I have my own personal goals but I don't want to be disappointed if I don't meet them so before I get this procedure done I want to have an idea of what to expect.. Im going on an Alaskan cruise in September so I would LOVE to be 100 lbs lighter...think that is a good attainable goal???
