  1. I just had my first fill today. I am kind of cramping in my lower abdomen...is this normal? Also Doc said that I won't need to come in again unless I have issues or needed another fill. They told me what to look for to let me know once I need another fill. I kind of thought that the doc would follow along every month...but not really the case...what does everyone else do? Just curious.
  2. I had my surgery on a Tuesday and went back the following Monday. I started to feel "normal" on that Saturday. I would opt for 4 days. You also may feel weak from the limited calories you are able to consume.
  3. I did before the band. I used the drops and lost about 1 pound a day. The diet was very restrictive at 500 calories a day. I lost about 40 pounds but once I was able to eat regular food...I gained it back and then some. i have a friend at work that did the HCG shots at a doctor's office...she lost about 12 pounds and then gave up... I tried to do it without the drops and had the same results...but always gained my weight back. That's why I needed a diet that i just couldn't quit (e.g. the Lapband). I liken the HCG drops to Dumbo with the white feather. He thought he could fly only with the feather...but realized the feather had nothing to do with it...but it is psychological...anyhow that's how I felt about it. Just my opinion.
  4. I use the chocolate powder. I buy it from Wal-Mart. I like it because I can have it for Breakfast and get more than half of my Protein in a day. It is 50 grams of protein a day if you use two scoops...it has 3 net carbs per serving...which multiply by 2 for two scoops. It is also 140 calories per scoop. I find that it fills me up until lunchtime. I make it with Water and add ice for a shake like texture. Though it is much easier to mix if you mix the mix with water then add the ice and blend. Good Luck to ya!
  5. Woohoo!!! It's the little things that feel good
  6. rwebb---what is your trick to being so successful? Do you just eat til full, or eyeball portion sizes...etc? Thanks!
  7. LMBO....Jean that is priceless
  8. He said that after my first fill on May 7th that i can graduate to 1/2 cup...can't wait! Although I guess I haven't been hungry on the 1/4 cup. but my weight loss slowed down majorly the past 2 weeks.
  9. My doctor told me not to exceed 1/4 cup (2oz) at one sitting for the first month after the band. He reasoned that although the pouch he created can hold 1/2 cup (4 oz) that while I am healing to fill the pouch could tear the sutures that he put in place on the fold that went over the band to hold it in place. I always see people eating more than that. I have stuck to the 2 0z...but check with your doctor as my doctor may have been trying to scare me straight. I am self pay and I can't afford a revision. Either way more than a cup a time seems excessing for your little baby pouch...be careful. I always hate that our docs give us so much conflicting info.
  10. I was nervous too....it was painless. I was out and awake before i knew it.

  14. Today is exactly one month post-op....I had my surgery on April 3rd and my weight was 195. I weighed in today (175) and have lost exactly 20 pounds! I have lost 2 inches in my chest (not exactly happy about that). Lost 2 inches from my waist, 2 inches from my hips, 2 inches from my arms and 1 inches from my thighs!!! All together I have lost 9 inches in a month. Just thought I would share!!! So exciting.
  15. Conrats...talk about positive reinforcement!

  19. I have played with the same pound for the past 2 weeks...frustrating. But I am eating right, not hungry and just started exercising. I get about 400-500 calories a day. I just keep hoping that something will give and the weight will start moving.
