  1. dont stress.......call dr in the morning. it will work out
  2. its ok ms maui just know this saved me and i am very passionate about this
  3. again, no disrespect but i think your words of horror are quite uncalled for. my dr gave me the pros and cons. i again say if you and your friends want my dr's name/number and you can call and discuss what plication actually is. and any wls has pros and cons (as you well know and have stated the bad) plication a newer surgery and i signed forms waiving anything if it happens. apparently anyone getting any type surgery has to sign forms too. didnt you? why? because i was advised of all aspects.i am an adult, i made my mind up to have this surgery to aid the band. why did i have this (dangerous thing ms msaui)...because i was over 336 pounds..i couldnt walk far and going potty was getting hard...i risked it and i am down 94 pounds in 7 months this ill conceived and dangerous thing is saving my life
  4. had a small glass a couple weeks ago......it was delish
  5. what a gorgeous woman before and after you gave me a lift and make me think i can (nearly but not quite) look at hot as YOU you work it girl
  6. ms maui..dont mean to be rude but I have the plication and so far I have no issues. ....as far as the irreversible after 2 to 3 weeks, I called my dr and told him of your statement and he said there was no cutting only suturing so the stomach is intact...if a dr who placed it too high, it may cause oxygen to not get to the stomach but that is very rare.....I would be glad to give you my surgeons name/phn so you can get your facts straight....I recommend it to all and any who ask me......
  7. wow, a definite eye opener I so hope everyone reads this post
  8. the band or any WLS is not going to help you (learn when to stop eating) that comes from you. the band will help you eat less....but if one overeats the allotted amount and eats junk food, what is the point? so until the zone is reached, let the band work...the dr's advise smaller portions or it could hurt/stretch the band. that is on the person who went through all the pre op's to do and to figure out if its smart to test the band..just because one cannot feel (restriction) does not mean the band is not working. i dont have any fills. i cant (use i need a fill) as a reason..please note i am not trying to be mean or harsh. i am speaking as a person who was over 336 pounds 7 months ago.
  9. the band wont help you feel not hungry or feel (full) it will help you eat less as missy's link point out. you cant live your life doing a pre op diet. you are not on a diet. you are eating better foods to nourish you body. just because you can eat normal/large size portions does not mean you should either...eating your allotted amounts (1 cup in most cases) is what you should be doing...you cant wait for the magical fills to help you lose weight... you must heal and let the band start filling up to help.....so until that time its up to you to eat the right portion sizes as well as Protein, filling foods and find want power and help the band.
  10. yes i do banded/plicated on june 6 2012
  11. stopped diet soda day i started pre op. like floridays, 4 days of detox head aches, havent had one since onward and upward to a better life. i drink a large black coffee daily and all is well
  12. work it girl and dont stop as its working. you are helping the band great job
  13. every new person with the band and getting one needs to READ THIS post.
  14. agree with grammy and missy you know it was wrong and you asked was it anyhow. def need to follow the dr's instructions. they are in place for a reason. more than likely nothing bad happened, but what if it had? would it have been worth it to eat just because you were hungry?
  15. i stayed in the hospital gown they put me in when i got there. (and a house coat to go with it). i stayed overnight also. i recall walking down the hall and to the potty and back. (i was lucky being in june, that i wore a sundress there and home so it was easy in and east out).
  16. mind over matter yes the food was there but you CHOSE to adhere to the band rules. great job. i hope alot of newbie banders read this and realize what you did by posting this. outstanding
  17. depends on the person how elastic is their skin, their genes, the amount of weight one needs to lose..as grammy said, toning will help but if its too saggy, you can always have skin removal surgery....i am ok with having saggy skin..anything is better than being over 300 pounds again...i will risk it
  18. what a most wonderful picture. thank you so much for sharing. as long as one tries, no matter how long it takes to get there.
  19. excellent post. i agree with you 100% the band is always there and its up to the person to use it correctly or not.
  20. sorry, not a clue as to what you wrote here
  21. ms maui sorry to read of you experience wishing you better luck in the future
  22. too short to be a banana but i can be a peach as i was born in GA
  23. well, every dr is different my dr gave me a list of what i could have only Protein shakes, Water, tea, coffee, broth, SF popsicles (no sugar and no caffeine)...took 4 days of detoxing and it wasnt so bad..i was not to concern myself with cal counting as i was shrinking my liver. dr said if it was not as it should be when he operated, he wouldnt and that was the reason i did not cheat. hang in there...its only for aliitle while although it seems like forever when you are doing it
  24. i will email you tomorrow and hopefully we can figure something out..
  25. once i found a dr who accepted tricare i had tricare approve me a visit to the surgeon the surgeon gave me a list of things i needed to do (pre ops) once completed, they submitted for tricare to approve tricare needs to have proof of past dieting attempts 100+ pounds overweight and some sort of medical issues, blood pressure , sleep apnea etc.. do you have all the things that tricare says you need?
