  1. this is so weird as about 330 today, i had one of these little 100 cal packs... yummy and tastes good (this is an every so often food for me)
  2. i didnt see a category for surgeon being handsome as i would have picked that one... but def to me, knowing he had done these surgeries before, (me researching him) licensed etc and that his office staff was a helpful prior as they are after (as i found out) also helped me make the decision...but i also chose him as that is whom my ins said to use which was good enough for me.
  3. must agree with mis and gram as i also feel the and itself is inside us, under skin, fat etc when i first got my port, i couldnt feel it because was so obese..the more i lose, i can feel it..and its sorta visible...and its neat putting my hand on it and feeling it when i walk...i call it little buddy good luck at the dr
  4. the only fear i had was getting bigger (and not being able to buy clothes in my size).......that fear led me to have the WLS and do what they told me to do in order to lose weight....dont be scared....this is your life that you are taking charge of. very proud of you.
  5. to gain weight, we must eat more calories than we burn off that is how i got super morbid obese. (even when i was just eating a wee salad, it was the huge amounts of the stuff that came out of the bottle that was not very good) or a baked potato (oops dont count the butter and gobs of sour cream etcc) and to a point that i could hardly walk. after surgery, i could barely walk (5 feet) without giving out or fear of a heart attack...so just be eating better foods, in smaller amounts (thank you band) you can lose weight..eat lots of lean Proteins, veggies and fruit and drink alot...and you will lose weight..
  6. yup yup yup, seeing a nutritionist who can explain the better types of foods to eat and maybe help you understand the amounts..some doctors are different although eating 1/4 cup seems small, you may want to confirm with your doctor.. grammy was right, all about if you want to lose weight and get healthy or not.. there is nothing wrong with you...you choose to eat junk/easy/slider foods....you have to make up your mind to choose to eat better foods and the amounts that is required. for the band to work, you must help the band. good for you for exercising...you just need to eat to lose weight...no food is off limits and when its my birthday in nov, i hope to have a bit of cake but for now, its all lean proteins, veggies and fruit and drinking alot.....and a bunch of want power.

could be eating too fast, too big of bite or your bands sign of saying, we had enough and stop eating,,,,,,happens to me also
  8. i agree with T as going to the dr (post op) on a regular basis is vital..this will help the dr (in turn) help you and answer any/all questions you have..you have done well on your loss so far....congrats.
  9. happy friday sharon and LOVE all your posts and find myself looking for it when i first come to lapband talk every day.....
  10. what a great post how refreshing to read (positive) for a change.. its all you GF.. me and this whole lapband forum is so proud of you. YOU are the queen today....happy 1 yr anniversary dear
  11. no kick (dont wanna hurt my pedicure polish) only sending lots of love..you can do it...just begin (again). we all have the ups and downs,,its life..so put a smile on that pretty face, strap them high heels on and shoulders back..and get on with it
  12. i like your comment to this post alot.... and its true (in regards to wanting to eat better foods and asking for help)..i dont have any fills but the band/plication does restrict me. my dr told me some people have restriction with the band alone and some dont..i guess with all things, it varies.
  13. here is my thoughts on this thread..
  14. had mine removed in 03 and aside from stomach being very sore the 3rd to 5th day after, it was okay....i missed only 2 days of work and was told not to lift heavy items for a month...
  15. too late, was watering my flowers on top of file cabinet and have to tippy toe up to reach and dangum tripped over my UNC trash can..i need an assistant i swear
  16. 5 weeks....and you are doing fantastic.....use this to help you keep going....doing happy dance for you in my flip flops
  17. i agree again with dawg and the others.. i was on liquid meds after surgery for a month.. odd to me that they did not give you liquid pain meds.. but if you got the ok from the dr/pharmacy to crush meds and take them that way, then alrighty then... i still crush my help me sleep at night sometime meds at 10 month post op.
  18. well congrats to you and wishing you the best of luck
  19. when i started i was 336 and was a head hunger princess and felt this was my destiny...but it was ME who had to finally say, i am getting WLS, and its up to me to do what i can to make it work..dont hate me for saying this please..... but you make the decision in what you eat...you revert back to old habits because you chose to do so.....now you choose to do better....eat your allotted amounts of healthy good for you foods and drink alot.....i am sooooo proud of you for seeing someone to talk to and help you through this..i did that for many a year after i struggled with bulemia and binging so i know what you are going through.. we all are addicted to food. if we dont eat, we die so eat.....but choose to eat healthy foods and let the band help you eat less....you have to truly WANT to lose weight and then DO what you have to do. you wanna talk or b**tch or vent, pm me anytime... i am sending big hugs from NC to you.
  20. as dawg said, the TOM, sodium or heavy diamond earrings can make the scale go up...def nothing to worry about unless you are eating alot of junk/fast foods or eating more then 3500 cals all the time (3500 cal is a pound whether its ate or drank)..and taking in more cals than you burn off.--that makes you gain. ....as for going back on Protein shakes, i drink one every morning as i am too tight to eat but just being on liquids helps you lose liquids .....best to eat good foods in your small amounts allotted, drink alot and stay positive.. are you losing inches? if so, then you are losing weight.....and FAB that you are under 200...i am aiming for that myself sweetie
  21. keep grinning.....more to come
  22. Doctor Kracker Seedlander cracker, what is this please? and the boars head chicken? is it in the deli?
