  1. Judy praying all goes well. One way to look at it, that doctor is going to be extra careful since he's in the headlines right now! Praying for your wisdom as you speak with him! Good luck!
  2. I agree with Glove, keep that great positive attitude and you'll do great! Praying all goes wonderfully and you have a speedy recovery! Keep us posted!
  3. xoxoxo thinking of you and praying all went well! Keep us posted. Deb
  4. Otters38 your surgery is really close right? Sounds like you've done well for the pre-op and great that you've lost 16 lbs! Good for you! I started the liquids early since the insurance said I have to do a finaly weigh in and can't have a gain showing. I did lose 2 lbs since I started yesterday morning, hope to do more since I have to weigh at the end of the day...ugh!! Good luck to all of you, hang in there! Deb
  5. If approved, as Mar 22 gets closer I'm sure I'll start feeling the nerves kick in.
  6. Great AFB!! I strongly beleive in the power of positive thinking.....so don't even think about the pain Hick Chick......just take it step by step and keep your eye on the prize and pray pray pray! Happy journey girls!
  7. Thanks so much for the prayers Sherry!! Glove thanks for asking all those questions and Sherry for answering....such great info to soak in!! So far I'm not nervous at all, just excited and anxious to get approval from insurance!! Bless you all.....
  8. congrats on your decision to get healthy! You'll find lots and lots of wonderful information on here that will help you! Even though I'm pre-op I think the key is staying positive, and following the directions of your doctor completely. Good luck on your journey!
  9. The squeeky wheel gets the grease...keep calling the insurance co until you get some kind of explanation. Ask for the person in charge. Everyday if thats what it takes to get some info. I'd be very upset too.....hang in there and KEEP calling! Deb
  10. Where do you find jello, popcycles, pudding or crystal light without aspertame??? I haven't been able to so far, and have looked several places. Any ideas???
  11. Thanks Sherry~ Love that scripture! I'm excited to have all my "buddies" on here! So much great information for us newbies. I did some of my shopping today gearing up for the big day plus I started the liquid diet early, today, not too bad so far although my stomach is probably wondering what the heck is going on! lol I started early since I have to do a final weigh in on Monday at 4:30....hate weighing late in the day! So I'm trying to be sure I'm down Monday and show no gain since the last time I was in or its a no go for me, for who knows how long. Didn't know I had to have a final weigh in so of course, I've been on a "last supper" type diet for the past couple of months! Like I might as well have this now cause I won't after surgery....so haven't really lost any weight. Monday I don't care if I'm only down a pound....I will celebrate!! Thanks ladies...good to be on board with you all. We CAN do this!! Deb "I can do ALL things through Christ who gives me strength" Yay!!
  12. Hi Summer, welcome to this great site where you'll learn tons of stuff. I'm tentatively scheduled for surgery on the 22nd of Mar, waiting for ins approval. Not sure if I can help but I am a very positive person who loves to encourage others. I'm excited to get started as I'm sure you are! Get all the information you can, thats what I've been doing, I think it will help us through this journey.Good luck to you on this road to a new life!! Deb
  13. Great job! It sounds like the key to being a success is staying positive and following doctors orders. Keep up with the power over food!! Yay!!
  14. Great job!! That's awesome!! Thanks so much for the positive reinforcement and encouragement!
  15. I tried Unjury, mixes awesome! The Chicken soup is wonderful, vanilla is good and Strawberry Sorbet is ok but the last two smell so I just hold my breath while I take a sip. lol Pure Protein is doable, not the greatest, maybe will try mixing it with something next time. Unjury sells individual packs to try and also has a sample package, they have chocolate items too, I just don't like chocolate. Good luck!
  16. You look great, how much have you lost? When were you banded? Can't wait till I'm saying that!! Deb
  17. Great job to all my March band buddies! Those of you who had surgery today it sounds like you're doing wonderfully! Praying for you all for a continued speedy recovery! You encourage us are still waiting......Thx Deb <3

  19. Yay, how exciting! Sounds like things are going well so far. Hope you have a speedy, smooth recovery!
  20. Re-evaluate your past experience. For me I have no doubts I can lose the weight, it's keeping it off that is the real problem. Don't be like me, 60 and wishing I had done this years ago. Good luck on your journey!
  21. Congrats mykids36~ will be praying all goes well! Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately I'm not a chocolate lover at all. For those looking for good Protein stuff, unjury mixes wonderfully!!! This evening I tried their chicken soup/broth, it's great!! The best I've tasted so far! Unjury.com if you need to order or try some. Had a glitch today for approval. Wasn't told that I need a final weigh in doctor appt with the pcp....luckily I can get in Monday to do that....so held up for a few days. Hope and pray theres no more glitches! Happy banding to all those coming up so soon!!
  22. You shouldn't be throwing up?? Maybe it's time to check in with your doctor.
  23. Welcome! Good luck with your journey.....I'm anxious to get started...pre-op diet starts the 5th, surgery 21st if approval comes through. Hope all goes well for you! (another) Deb
  24. I've read several that have struggled in the beginning. I'm not banded yet but it sounds to me like you're not getting enough protein. I would also try to find a support group for bandsters if you have one near you, I've been told that makes a ton of difference too. Hope things get bettter for you....good luck!
  25. I start preop Monday the 5th....tried Unjury today, Vanilla, it mixes great, takes good but I have to hold my breath with I take a sip, it stinks. The Strawberry Sorbet was the same way. Both very doable though compared to other ones I've tried. Stocking up on broth, still need to get some more things this weekend. I know I can, I know I can, I know I can.....
