  1. my peronsal trainer has me doing HIIT training. Ive tried TRX suspension training, P90X, strength training, pilates, yoga, modern dance ... none of that had nearly the amount of impact as just changing my diet and limiting my calories. The new diet in conjunction with pure cardio really helped me out. Im toning up and losing inches nicely.
  2. I'm gonna download one of the apps to my ipod this weekend. Wish me luck!!!
  3. I JUST tried the TRX workout last night. Lellow how are you coming along with it? is it giving you the toning results without the extra weight loss? My whole body hurts today.
  4. My doctor said that the stomach is like a balloon, and the horizontal position of sleeping makes the stomach "deflate" or collapse. So when you wake up it takes a while to "inflate" and return to normal.
  5. I didnt have to pay anything up front except for co-pays .... hospital and doctor's fees were billed after the procedure.
  6. thats what im talking about!!! I had cake (small half of a tiny piece) AND Pizza at lunch today .... Im glad I read this. I wont let dinner be ruined today
  7. when you look at the complications thread, you see ONLY complications .... you need to look at the whole picture. did you look at the success threads also?
  8. Yoga, Pilates, Hip Hop Abs, Curves Weight training circuit. P90x if your agile and strong enough.
  9. the lump in the throat can be caused by irritation from constant reflux.
  10. I think a lot of dcotors have different pre-op diets. I would "think" its ok but you should probably double check with someone at your doctor's office
  11. my doctor told me to follow the rule of 1000 calories a day. I rarely get that low. Some days im not hungry at all, other days I feel very hungry, and as soon as I start eating, I'm full. Other days Im starving and I can eat and eat and eat. I have good weeks where I lose weight, and sometimes I just stay the same or gain a pound. I don't believe the weight just falls off. I workout (intensly) 3-4x a week. I try to watch my fat and my carbs, but hey Im not perfect hahaha. But overall I just try to eat healthy - wheat breads, low calorie Proteins, low fat yogurt, salad with lite dressing on the side, fresh fruits, etc.
  12. I have 4.0 in an 11.0cc band. My doc think's Im at green. The scale is moving (But SLOWLY). I have only had 1 stuck episode, no vomiting, no sliming.
  13. I have federal BCBS also. I think I owed the hospital $146. I owed my surgeon $150. Copays for the psych eval were like $95, and one doctor visit for $20 = total of $411.
  14. don't worry. i GAINED before I got a fill and now I'm down 14 lbs. just be patient.
  15. I think yuo should use your co-worker comments as an opportunity to prove everyone wrong and shut them up with your success. You're not a failure, I can guarantee you that. The fact that you are taking the time out to get your emotions in check lets me know that you can be in control of this situation. Don't let other ppl discourage you! Exercise, eat right, and make it work. Good luck!!!!
  16. im a member of bodyspace, but I havent logged in since before surgery. I'll look it up now. my username is sunshyne068
  17. you are going thru "bandster" hell. don't obsess with the scale right now. once you start to get fills you will lose weight again. Not at 1 lb a day, but it will come off. Do a search on the forum for "bandster hell" and Im sure you will find everything you ever wanted to know about this period in your band life cycle
  18. do any of you have acid reflux when you're too tight? do you believe that constant acid reflux is a sign of being too tight?
  19. my doctor says no fills withing 5-6 days of travel. I would reschedule. You never know what could happen where you need medical attention because of the fill.
  20. Melvan email the info to me too if you dont mind. Info@sydneywyatt.com Thanks so much
  21. The ER will likely give you a soap enema and some laxative. They may give you magnesium citrate which is what they told me to buy OTC from the pharmacy to literally clear my entire stool. Be prepared, with the enema it might get worse before it gets better ... but it WILL get better.
  22. watch the movie "Food, Inc." .... I rarely eat fast food, and when I do I get a subway sandwich, tuna salad with extra lettuce and spinach on 9 grain honey oat.
