    Sleeved on Nov. 1.

Recovery room was rough and I threw up a couple times. After that I was wheeled to a room and slept for several more hours. All total I slept 12 hours post op. People kept talking to me but I was so out of it. I don't remember my husband kissing me and going home for the night.

I finally woke up at 9pm and drank some chicken broth and walked 2 miles in laps around my ward. Sipped Water. Then I konked back out.

I was up every 45 minutes going pee all night long.

Woke up the next day (today) and felt great. Walked over 4 miles throughout the day waiting for hubby to pick me up at 5p. The staff was calling me marathoner. I inspired other patients to get up and walk with me.

I had a small cup of yogurt and some tomatoes Soup and a premier chocolate shake throughout the day.

Good luck to all three other November sleevers.

My surgery was Nov 1 and I can drink about 2-3 ounces in a couple minutes and then wait 10-15 minutes and drink another 2-3 ounces. liquid moves through me fast. However, with that said, I tend to forget to take drinks so I sometimes go 2-3 hours without taking a drink. I was averaging about 40 ounces a day (shakes, Water, broth combined) but I think yesterday I got up to 64 ozs because my husband was home reminding me to sip sip sip all day.

TheNewMrsR got a reaction from nibble in 64oz A Day, Really?????
Sip sip sip all day long. It's a full time job. Heaven forbid you take a nap or get busy and forget for an hour or two because you just threw off the whole days schedule! That's where I struggle the most too. Getting enough liquids in throughout the day between waking up and going back to sleep. I noticed now that I can actually drink a little more than previously. Instead of 2 Oz's every 10 minutes I'm able to drink 2-3 ounces in 5 minutes. It goes through me fast so I'm not worried about it sitting in my stomach stretching it out. It feels like I'm drinking and peeing all day long constantly non stop.

Thank you for sharing this. You just made me face my own reality right now. I had not put it into words before.

I have planned vacations and trips around food reviews. When I plan a vacation, the first thing I do is begin researching restaurant recommendations.

When I'm at home I will be planning my next meal while in still eating my current meal. Sometimes I'm planning several Snacks and meals ahead while I'm eating. On Wednesday/Thursday I start asking my hubby where we should go to Breakfast, lunch, dinner on the weekend. I'm always thinking of eggs Benedict, biscuits and gravy, corned beef hash, pulled off bacon, chicken fried steak, BBQ ribs, pizza, nachos...

Starting now I am stopping this behaviour. My meal prep will be healthier choices. I can't let food win. I have the control. Food will no longer control me!

I'm so excited for this new journey. Thank you to everyone for sharing your journey.

Totally normal to have doubts before surgery... Also totally normal to have buyer's regret every once in a while for the first few weeks after surgery...

This too shall pass and 6 months after surgery you'll wonder why you waited so long to do it.

Sure we can all lose weight on our own but most of us gain it back plus more every time. This is a whole complete change that forces us to eat less and make better choices.

Can we cheat? Yes. Can we gain it back? Yes. There is no 100% fail proof magic fix. But this is an opportunity to get yourself healthy and stay there because you can only eat small portions and then your full.

Here's my take... YES! You do deserve this and better to do it now while you're young and relatively healthy rather than waiting until your older with medical issues. Also I tried many many diets, fad diets, weight loss plans, went through bouts of course anorexia, bulimia, binge and purge, laxatives, phen-fen, dexatrim, Atkins, weight watchers, lapband and so cleanse diets.... You know what that got me? It got me a metabolism that hoards fat because it knows I'm trying to starve them all out. It got my body so messed up that I'm the person whose been sleeved and only looses about 1-2 pounds a week while I watch everyone else losing 40-50-60 pounds the first 6-8 weeks post op.

Now is the best time of your life to do it before you ruin your metabolism and suffer another 30+ years of your life as an obese person... Heck yeah you deserve it at this stage of your life!

    Good luck!

    All of this.

Think the majority of us start to second guess ourselves at the last minute (myself included). As crazy as it seemed prior to surgery I can see how easy it would be start cheating and doing things that would easily cause me to gain weight again. The biggest eye opener for me was realizing how much of this is a mental fight. Head hunger can be a real s.o.b. and you have to come to terms with it. No matter how tiny a stomach we have head hunger will make you think that you need to eat when you really don't.

Personally I think it's better for people to have this bit of freak out and second guess things. It's a good time to reflect on what you expect out of this surgery and the changes that come with it. I won't lie and say the first few weeks are easy (for some it is, others it's tough) but it was totally worth it.

    Such a good hubby!

My husband made spaghetti at 2am two nights ago because he knows the torture I’m going through. The best part is that he is the worlds worst house keeper. He rinsed all the dishes and loaded them in the dishwasher. The only evidence was the half empty box of uncooked noodles sitting on the counter. God bless his soul!

I have to feel bad for my hubby tho. I do all the cooking and shopping. I sent him to the store for some SF Jello, and whatever he wanted to eat for the week. He emerged 1 hour later with a bag of...

I hope he survives this process and he doesn’t resent me afterward. Im just kidding! He will love me more for it ️

Ha! Too cute! I'd say, keep on keepin' on! (Until he starts "taking the bite with you"...remember when you'd feed your kids and you would open and close your mouth in tandem with the spoon hitting their mouth? And I'd absolutely draw the line with him leaning over and cutting up your meat...*snic*)

I thought about eating the Protein with just a little bit of muffin....and probably could do it that way. The cheese is welded to one of the muffin halves, so you'd probably want to pick that one and pitch the other. LOL
But no...I ate it as built.... cause my hubby...who insisted he wasn't hungry and didn't want anything....was staring at me like a Labrador Retriever.
He was all....eat what you want, and I'll eat the rest.
God...and he's doing this other weird thing, now, that he used to do with my daughter.
When she was little, he'd let her order anything she wanted off the menu, and would wait until she was done eating....and eat what was left...or just share with her. He's all...I'm not picky...go ahead...pick something good. Kid would pick bizarre things....pancakes to prime rib...he never cared.
The other day we were at a coffee shop, and I'm like...Man, I want to order this, but it's a ton of food and it won't travel well.
He's all...get what you want, I'll get a side salad and eat the rest when you're done.
In one way it's sort of endearing...in another way, it's sort of creepy. LOL. I love him, though. Selfless asshat. Wouldn't trade him.

Firstly - dang! 120lbs is STUNNING so you are no failure. You are a walking bloody miracle!
One idea to kick start - go right back to your op days. Mimic your post op diet month. No cheating, just sheer hard work... without the pain, and being able to exercise Just an idea! My surgeon calls it a pouch trainer, or a sleeve trainer. Gets good results...

I absolutely understand your frustration. It’s hard to come so far and not quite get there! I don’t agree that you’re a failure though. I know you feel like it, because you said so, and I think if I were in your shoes I would need more compassion...from myself. Self-compassion. It’s not giving yourself a break, but rather accepting that what you’re going through is hard and providing yourself mental support as you would a friend going through a tough time. I don’t mean to say that self-compassion is going to fix this, because it won’t, but it might help you turn your thinking around from failure to success in progress. Having a more positive outlook, at least for me, helps me get to my goals.
Now, tangible suggestions. I agree with the above, or something like it. Go back to Protein Shakes, barely any carbs, make sure you’re getting your fluids. Just for a week or two to jump start things, then slowly start incorporating regular food again, avoiding carbs (assuming you aren’t already doing this). As a fellow WLS patient anticipating frustrating stalls that’s what I’d do. If that doesn’t work, I’d see my doc. Or maybe phone them first just to check and see what they recommend. (That’s kind of the default answer, I know, sorry.)
Either way, I wish you kindness towards yourself and the best in your continued weight loss efforts. You’ve come so far, you can make it where you want to be!

"Once I get through surgery, my goal is to never touch the trigger foods again."
Man, if it were this simple....wouldn't most of us just set a goal to quit all our trigger foods and not bother with the surgery?
My theory is that you can't run from food. Gotta make peace with it. Get power over it. Gotta face it and get control of it. Otherwise, it still has all the power and you're running away for the rest of your life...powerless.
I'm not saying being able to say no, is powerless....just saying....these foods will still be there. You'll run into them. They might still sing to you.
I guess my question is...why do you think having surgery will make you more able to "never touch trigger foods again?" What happens to your brain during surgery that enables this change of ability?
Not being a jerk, just honestly would like to follow your train of thought.
