Protein shake !!
I personally use skim milk when drinking a Protein Drink, besides i am getting an extra 8 grams more of protein with my shake. You can also try almond milk as well, they sell it unsweetened or sweetened.

Protein shake !!
Everyone's taste buds are different when it comes to Protein Shakes/Drinks. You can easily spend tons of money doing this. I would recommend going to your local Walmart and look at their Pure Protein in a 2lb. tub of chocolate Frosty for $19.99. Its tasty when mixed with skim or almond milk. You can also go to the unjury.com site and order their samples, many rave on here how delish their chocolate splendor is. They both have 20-25 grams of Protein and under 5 grams of carb that you are seeking. Best of luck,

Need Advice
Hi Addi, Honestly, I wish there was a magic answer for this for every time a person posted about hitting a plateau. I like you hit my first plateau in October, 2012 and it lasted for almost 5 weeks before I took action into my own hands. The thing I learned the most is to keep constant track of everything I ate. As my body keeps losing weight some of my nutrients needed to be tweaked as well. Example: My carb intake was between 120-125 a day, I was losing steady until I hit that plateau. Apparently, since my big weight loss my body no longer wanted that much carbs, so I decided to cut that in half and before you know, it kicked start my metabolisim and I began to lose again. It is going to be through trial and error what works for you, everyone is different and no two bodies lose alike. You have your caloric count/carb count - I also want to add that you could possibly try upping your protein to 60 and up. (its worth the shot) ? I know its frustrating, hang in there you will start losing again (hugs)

Scar Question
Yes, and the Palmer's cocoa butter too!!!!

Scar Question
Two things and it won't cost you an arm and leg... Drink plenty of Water and moisturize twice a day with any aloe/vitamin E/cocoa butter lotions. You don't have to buy any expensive stuff, it worked for me. I purchased whatever was on sale, Jergens, gold bond, sally hansen cocoa butter,

All this talk of....
I have been cleaning closest all weekend, also shopping in there too I found so many jeans I once could wear than couldn't, now I can!. Saves me a lot of money buying clothes because I still have to shop at the high end of clothing which are expensive. Cant wait to buy smaller clothing, that for me would be victory!!!

Thrush??
Your reg. PCP will know for sure if what you have is thrush. I thought I did right after surgery. I was bouncing back and forth to both my PCP and bariatric surgeon before they realized what was actually wrong with me. I had white 'foam' in my mouth. very dry, constant thirst (more than normal), white covered tongue. My PCP gave me antibiotics just incase, but he was sure it wasn't thrush. After 2 months of this suffering white horrible foamy mouth. My bariatric told me that it was apperent he placed my band too tight during surgery. He said this had happened with two of his other lapband patients, I was lucky and almost the 3rd who would of had to have another surgery to have my band 'loosened' , due to the rapid weight loss my stomache shrank, and the band loosened up on its own (wheeew).

Need some cocktail ideas
Hi Danielle, A lot of places now are serving "Skinny Girl" drinks. I heard their Margaritas are awesome. Also, look whats on the shelf at the clubs/bars depending on where you go. Some clubs carry "Light' rum,. Oh, you can also check if they carry 'diet cranberry juice' too!

seminar
After making sure our insurance qualified for me having weight loss surgery, I did a lot of research on Bariatric Surgeons in my area. After narrowing a few down I looked into credentials/back ground checks. Did a lot of reading on their facility/practices. Made sure they had a zero mortality rate, and lastly how many surgeries did the surgeon perform and how long in practice. These were important to me. After I found who I liked, I scheduled a seminar. Was very impressed, made an appt to see the surgeon to get personal one on one. Liked him and waaala, here I am......

How come i dont feel like I am doing that well
Hi Wozziecat, As each day goes by you will be able to drink more fluids. You more than likely still sore from surgery (the tube they stick in your throat), leaves a lot of dryness, soreness, etc. Since you stated you are able to keep fluids down, that is just fine! Keeping hydrated is key, sipping all day long will help that. Hang in there sweety! (hugs)
