  1. I don't have any tats at all! I am contemplating an ankle tatoo with my daughter and granddaugters name inscribed for my 50th birthday this year. My husband does not have any tatoos either. I guess we are both straight edged, LOL
  2. I wanted to say thank you for letting us weigh in the 'last' day of the month! yaaaaaaaa!
  3. CG, that is what the 'big' pocketbook bags are for, LOL
  4. From reading past and presents posts here from our veteran bandsters, doing some research on the internet, and speaking with my surgeon, it’s all inconclusive what the longevity of the band is. However, like any hardware/device that is foreign in our bodies maintenance is key. I have a total hip replaced and every year I get that hip looked at/tested/x-rayed by my orthopedic surgeon. Just as the band, I will also have it looked at/tested/x-rayed to make sure everything is fine and still functioning.
  5. Hi Blondie, Weight gain/stall is very normal during these stages. Just know that this is 'temporary'. Your new stomache is healing, and so is the rest of your body. Stay on track, follow your surgeons instructions and before you know it, you will be shedding off those pounds. Hang in there (hugs)
  6. Hello Lyndz, I first want to say to you personally that there is NO such thing as failure. Failure in my book is when you give up! You are here and back and the one thing you never want to do is give up on yourself. I had this conversation with my surgeon weeks ago.... I asked him about how many patients that he knows off the top of his head that needed no fills and got to their goals. He said two. However those two over time put back on half of their weight. I looked at him and said really, do you know why? He seriously looked me dead in the face, and said ' things happen' life sometimes takes a wrong turn in peoples lives", "the main thing is they are back on track and losing again". My surgeon is the best! He gets it, he really understands us! I don't have a hypocrite for a surgeon, I have a REAL human being for one!
  7. OHH hon, you did the right thing, and just reading your comments on here I know you were gentle/kind expressing your concerns. I am certain she will continue on always being a friend to you, as you to her., ((hugs)) You really deserved that!
  8. I knew i like you for a reason!! LOVE that idea!!! ^5
  9. Hang in there!!! I am rooting for you! I am going out for superbowl, but made some wonderful low-fat dips to put in the mix. NOOO one doesn't know its low fat, because they will all be tooooo drunk! LOLOLOLOL Next year at superbowl you are going to be a hit!!!
  10. Had my surgery a week before my birthday ... wonderful gift you can give yourself Sending good vibes your way.....
  11. Happy you are back on the forum Lauri! We can learn a lot from you as well! (hugs)
  12. Jennifer, we love having you here! You add such pizzazz to this site, and just think of all the knowledge you have gained before your surgery! You are going to be another success story!!
  13. I have been on this site 7 months "prior" to be banded. Actually, I started on the 'chat' forum before and had met some really nice people who were tremendously helpful in answering all of my "pre" banding questions. As soon as I started doing more research, asking questions is where I found one of my best friends on this site. She has been my rock through this whole journey. My husband and I wouldn't know what to do without her (Missy). I come here pretty much for the same reason you all do. Support, Motivation, and Inspiration. I love reading about all the success stories, and of course looking at the before /after pictures are GREAT! Every story gives us all inspiration and hope! I am still early on my journey, but I have learned and gained sooo much knowledge from my fellow bandsters!
  14. Hi Jennifer, I think many of us 'subconsciously' think that, or in my case I fear I will never reach my goal because of how long I have been overweight. I do know this time around its different because i have a tool now, that as long as I do my part, I will continue to achieve my dream of losing this weight and keeping it off, and so will you....
  15. You said it best hon... Believe me, we all have a lot to learn from our bands Hope you feel better (hugs)
  16. My granddaughter (she is almost 7) she wanted to name my band, so she did "Bandilla" She doesn't like her very much she says, LOL I really liked what Floridays said about how your Mom carried you for 9 months, and you will carry her always. That was really deep and touching. I am very lucky to have my Mom around, we are very close and only 16 years apart. She is super supportive and couldn't be happier for me having this surgery. She tells me all the time how brave I am to have had it done. I know your Mom would feel the same way....
  17. I personally agree with the majority here and say go for it! It will be a diet, your band will be empty, and you will be basically doing what everyone else will be doing, is watching what they eat! Best of luck and I hope you win!
  18. I love that! Every Holiday my granddaughter and I make something for her to bring to class. We have so much fun together!
  19. <sizzling>
  20. B, I still love looking at your profile picture
