You are doing well. Welcome to the site. Dr. Fox did my surgery as well.

I totally understand what you are going through. My surgery date was 12/3 and I had my first fill on 1/4. My appetite started to increase on yesterday. It is OUT OF CONTROL. I am attempting to eat a lot of protein. I can't wait until my next fill 2/1. I have not gained nor lose any weight since my last fill. I freaked out the time of the last fill scared I would be in the red zone; but next week I am going to ask that they put as much as possible in. I haven't had an appetitie like this since being banded. Let's hang on and be strong. Protein, Protein, Protein.

I have mixed emotions about quickly loosing weight. Of course I want to; but I feel I will be more flabby if I loose faster. Not sure what the truth is to that. But good luck. This is definitely a change in lifestyle. If you concur that change - you will be fabulous.

Good for you!!!!

Caligalles, that's exactly what I am doing - not including the exercise. I just want to make sure my port site is completely healed because I start (I'm also being lazy). The weight is coming off slowly but surely. As someone informed me on this site - if you eat 1000-1200 calories a day, you will definitely loose weight. However, you have to stick with protein, vegetables and fruit. You, have to limit your sugar intake.

Good to know. I had my first fill today. How many ccs did they add to yours?

Stay strong and take care of yourself. If you don't take care of yourself you can not take care of 'others'. Great Job on your weight loss thus far and glad to see your husband is doing better. I have been where you are with my husband, however, we did not have any kids at the time. I will uplift your family in my prayers.

Like my wedding band, my band is tight in the morning and I have no appetite. By the after-dinner time it is super loose and I could snack all evening! Yes, I would talk to your doc. 1200 cals a day if you can stick with it will eventually put you close to a normal BMI. If any overweight or obese person tells you they are eating 1200 cals a day for a year and staying heavy thats just incorrect. You could either get a tiny fill or just wait out the plateau.I got to 155 and stayed there a long time and then finally went in and got 0.3cc and my weight went right down to 145 in about 6 weeks.
Thanks for your responses. Xavier, has your band been the same way even after getting fills? Closed in the morning and open at night.

I have the same issues - I was banded on December 2, 2011. We can not change bad habits overnight. We have to take it one day at a time and make weekly goals and stop looking at the scale. If we change our lifestyles, the scale will eventually follow. Congradulations Brenda on your weight loss.

I'm counting my calories using myfitnesspal; but it does not seem to help as far as the scale. Reviwing posts of people that have lost a lot of weight in small periods of time; they all indicate they exercise and eat right. I wonder if they eat right "all" the time or just the majority of the time. I go in for my fill on January 4, 2012.

Thanks for the responses. I am concerned about my calories because I don't think I am getting in enough. My scale is not moving. Today, I have eaten a lot more than usual - no restrictions. I am going in next week for a fill.

Yep, I am very familar. It happens either when I haven't chewed my food well or when I eat too fast. I usually just drink some water and it assists it in just coming up. I was banded on December 2nd and this has happened 3 times; 2 in one day.

You are having good restrictions. I am not eatting a whole lot; but more than you are. I have 1cc in my band. Is your appetite the same through out the day? It appears after 8pm I tend to eat; of course when I don't want to. Why do you go to the bathroom after you eat?

If you are in the green zone - the change is soo drastic you will definetly know. I can eat 2 bites of food and feel full. I have mostly head hunger vs. real hunger. And after a eat about 1/2 cup of food (if that), I am not hungry for 3-4 hours.
