  1. Yes! You are my inspiration
  2. Thinspiration - I was banded on 12/19 and trust me I had a lot of the same feelings today. Just know that next year at this time you'll be a lot closer to your goal weight and you will be able to enjoy some of those delicious foods just in more controlled portions. Just know you are not alone. I'm such a food addict. I know the hardest part about this whole thing is getting my mind right. sending you virtual hugs, don't hesitate to send me a message if you ever want to vent!
  3. Yay! Congrats! I couldn't help but notice on your signature line that you have lost 92 lbs in 6 months! WOW Tell me how you are doing it!
  4. I have had the absolute hardest time drinking enough Water slowly. I think I'm starting to get dehydrated. What are ya'll doing to get in all of your water after surgery? I was banded 5 days ago. The dr said to drink 2 oz of water every 15 minutes while you are awake. I get behind, because I get busy and do things and then I try to catch up by taking larger sips and I give myself a stomachache. I have had some popsicles - and i've tried just sipping non stop out of a water bottle. I don't have a problem with the taste of water. In fact I used to drink tons of water before surgery. Any suggestions are welcome - I know the answer is - do what the dr told you. haha I'm trying!!
  5. Hey ladies! I was banded on the 19th and plan on blogging lots of good liquid recipes with lots of Protein. I only have 1 up right now but by the end of the night i should have 5 or 6 more! I hope this helps and I hope you all are doing great!! http://happilyafterlapband.blogspot.com/
  6. My husband and I were banded on Monday. We started the atkins diet 1 week before surgery just to lose a little weight (our dr said anything you can to lose a little weight helps with the surgery) Since that week my husband has lost 21 pounds and I have lost 19. for the next week I would suspect we'll lose another big chunk, and then it will probably slow down to 2 lbs a week. Dr. Says to take it easy for 21 days while we heal. You know they say that in your 20's your skin can snap back with little to no sagging. I'm 30 yrs old right now so I'm hoping my skin will still stay somewhat tight. I say go for it. But do your research. Understand what you are going to do to your body, understand what complications can come out of it. Go to the best doctor you can find and ask a ton of questions! if you're interested I started a blog to talk about everything lap band ... Here's the link, I hope it helps! http://happilyafterlapband.blogspot.com/
  7. My goodness, please be careful. you can seriously damage your pouch by eating too much or drinking while eating. I'm so upset that your doctor didn't explain this to you at all. please read this post and study up on the dangers of a dialated esophagus http://www.lapbandtalk.com/topic/140115-dilated-esophagus-the-dangers-of-not-following-your-drs-plan/ before you have a very serious complication
  8. Hey! Good Luck with your surgery! I'm 3 days post op and I'm trying to document everything on my blog. I hope this helps! http://happilyafterlapband.blogspot.com/2011/12/what-to-do-to-prepare-for-lap-band.html
  9. So glad to meet some more newbies! My husband and I were banded this past monday. Our doctor has us on full liquids (anything that can strain through a mesh strainer) 50+ grams of Protein a day for me and 70+ for my husband. I'm keeping a blog through the experience and I'm trying to leave a lot of good tips as we go through the experience. Hope you find it helpful!! http://happilyafterlapband.blogspot.com/
  10. Hi! My husband and I were banded on Monday the 19th - 3 days ago. When they do the surgery they blow up your stomach with co2 and I actually found that the gas pain after the surgery was more significant that the pain from the incisions. Our nurses said that we can use GasX to help move that along but we still have to walk it out. I've taken 4 or 5 GasX pills in the past three days and I've been walking a lot. That's the only way to get it moving out of your system.
  11. My husband and I are going in for our lap band surgery tomorrow morning! I'm blogging the whole experience here: http://happilyafterlapband.blogspot.com/ I hope we can make some great buddies on this site for extra support!
