  1. Im pretty sure you are normal, I have my surgery in 5 days and YOWZERS I'm freaking out. It's a good freak out so let's just embrace this and enjoy the journey! Best wishes!
  2. Wishing you the best on your journey.
  3. On Monday I will get to meet Dr. Alvarez and have my sleeve. I feel very prepared and confident thanks to this website. I want to say thank you for all that have shared their experience and given suggestions, etc. It really has been so helpful to connect with others that are getting ready to go through the same thing or have already gone through it. I have been getting the house cleaned, clothes washed, grocerys bought, and bags packed. Hubby and I are going to San Antonio Saturday then driving to Eagle Pass on Sunday. Since I was lucky enough not to have to be on a pre-op diet we are going out to eat Saturday night on the Riverwalk. I'm almost as excited to get away for a few nights with my husband as I am the surgery (I said almost - lol). I'm just rambling, I will go now. Please send any words of wisdom my way, I will continue to read and stay connected until Monday. I will check in as soon as I can after surgery. Thanks again!
  4. Thats awesome, congrats!
  5. I will be having my surgery with Dr. Alvarez on March 12th and it is costing me $8700. I do know this is on the higher end, but like Liliana stated - he is amazing. I will be more than happy to keepy you posted if you would like. Best of luck!
  6. Hi there...I have not been sleeved, but I feel so bad for you on this one! I can see where you would be resentful towards your husband for not wanting to eat better for not only himself, but you and any future together. Maybe he is a little envious of you right now and he is fighting his own food demons. I'm no expert by any means, but weight loss is such an emotional journey. I think communicate, me honest, and communicate. Did I mention communicate! Best of luck to you!
  7. You are looking amazing.....keep up the good work!

  9. Ateam, congrats on the the boots, very nice job. They are so in style right now too. I love what you have said about how you feel towards food and exercise. I'm having my surgery March 12th and how you feel and think is what I dream about for my future. I'm not sure if I'm addicted to food, but when I do it I love to eat a lot and really stuff myself. I don't really think about food all the time, but I just love huge amounts. Hope that makes sense. Anyway, best of luck to you, hope you continue towards your goal.
  10. Wishing you lots of luck and smooth sailing tomorrow.
  11. I loved what you have said about how you feel. I have my surgery in 32 days and I can only hope I am as happy as you at 4 months out. Thank you for sharing....Texasgirl73
  12. Congratulations, thats awesome!
  13. Hi esleeve, first I'm so sorry about your father, many prayers for comfort. I'm not going to Dr. Kelly, but I hear great things about him. I am however going to Dr. Alvarez in Mexico and I also have a lowe BMI - 31. I don't have any real issues right now, but there are tons in my family (my mom, my maternal grandmother, my sister). Insurance would never touch me, but I like you have been so tired of the extra 60 - 70 lbs I have carried around forever. I'm actually a librarian and my husband and I rodeo with our kids a lot. My weight as depressed me that I am currently not even competing right now. THis is the first time in 38 years I refuse to enter a rodeo or barrel race because of my weight. Anyway, didn't mean to talk to much about myself when this is about you. Good luck on your journey. I know I'm not using the same Dr, but would love to stay in touch since we have low BMI's and both going to Mexico. Best wishes! Texasgirl73
  14. You look amazing...you are so beautiful!
  15. Congratulations, I know you are excited. Kuddo's on the diet coke...I need to get off Coke Zero's too. I'm down to 1 a day so I will try and cut that out in another week or so. Coffee....wow, that ones gonna be tuff. I'm having surgery with Dr. Alvarez March 12th and I am so excited! Best wishes to you!
