How Soon Did You Start Working Out After Gastric Sleeve Surgery, Other Questions
I was wondering the same thing, tomorrow I'll be three weeks out and I'm content with walking until I'm tired. In March I'll be going back to the gym and do cardio and weight training.

Yoga
I SOO want to do yoga but everytime I try I feel lightheaded and dizzy. I have hypotension, always low blood pressure so bending down and blood flowing all over the body makes me wanna lie down and sleep. Hoping I can do yoga because it seems so stress free

Happy Valentine's Day
Man, my family brought chocolate covered strawberries and different assorted cheesecakes! It's hard but it's not impossible. I can open the tray, smell it- the sugar, fake chocolate and preservatives- and close it and eat a slice of turkey deli and feel fine. NSV!!!!!!! Oh yeah! Before the sleeve ALL of that food would have been "missing" around 11 am. I'm just saying. OH and it's my favorite cousin's birthday who I love like the sister I always wanted Happy Valentine's Day   :grouphug:

What Is The Limit On How Many Grams Of Fat We Can Have A Day?
Hey sleeve sister my kaiser book it said less than 10 grams per serving. I don't follow that yet because we eat so little now I know I'm getting less than 10 grams of fat per meal but will focus after my one month surgiversary.

How Much Cheese Do You Eat In A Day?
I love cheese...mmm. Cheddar, mozzerella, string. Only cheese I hate is cottage cheese, pre and post op. I eat probably 3 ounces of cheese a day. I'm indian and on days we don't eat meat at our house I replace it with cheese and protein shakes I LOVE dairy!

Starting Mushies A Few Days Early?

Just Starting Puréed Food
Definately eat slowly and have 2-3oz. I'm still on that. I was rushing to class and had a tablespoon of pureed ground turkey in spinach soup, swallowed and it felt really stuck in my chest- kinda painful. I froze and turned to the sink and threw it up. Lesson learned! Take your time, chew and take small portions.

Learning To Eat Slower

Ok To Drive?
My doctor said wait 2 weeks. I had 5 weeks off work and it took me a good 2 weeks to even feel stable enough to drive. I drove on Thurs and Fri one short on a bit longer to my weight loss group meeting. A had my mom with me both times. I would definately take my time on this regardless of the reason because you have responsibilities to yourself, your new sleeve (the bumps and brakes take toll on your body), your passengers and the drivers surrounding you.

How Successful Was Your Surgery?
Hey Melissa, although I am a newbie (sleeved on Jan 25th) I DO feel like my sleeve is successful because without it I would be eating TONS more calories and continue gaining weight. It causes restriction, reminds me to eat mindfully, CHEW and actually enjoy my food, feel full from 2-4oz of food and that's why I give it a 10! I learned what head hunger is and how it controlled me and now I can enjoy the smell of food without feeling hungry! I love it I don't regret a thing and so far it's been good, hope I helped.

Finally The Stall Has Broken :-)
Congrats!! A stall is exactly it- a stall. You have definately been on track and the sleeve is working which is awesome! I think our body is scared of losing the fat and thinks were starving and is trying to protect us by holding on as much as it can. Breaking that stall is wonderful, wishing you all the best!

Hiccups
I'm 2 weeks post op and have hiccuped twice and I think that's because I ate too much or too fast. I'm not sure if that's a sign of a leak...I just saw my surgeon today and he said intest shoulder pain is a sign of a leak. I think you should talk to your Dr. just in case.

Lasagna Cupcakes!

Liquids And Meals
Oreos are slider foods where they will slide down, not get you full at all and you will crave more. Slider foods tend to have no nutritional value and high in calories.
-
Liquids And Meals
lol It's because when we have liquids with meals, it pushes the food faster leaving us hungry faster. By keeping the food in the sleeve we stay full longer Not gonna lie- it's hard at times but I got it.

I Wish Someone Had Told Me....
I think every body is different and we all experience similar things but not at the same time. I wish someone was there to tell me more the first few weeks but this forum has helped TREMENDOUSLY It was hard the first 3-4 days. The first week is rough in general because of lack of food but mentally starving and not feeling hungry LOL. I'll be two weeks on Weds. and I walk everyday- almost half a mile or less and I feel tired. I don't know how others can work out right away, more power to them! I don't like car rides- I feel every bump, can't wait to heal. Little things like that I would have liked to hear. Overall, yes it would of helped but if I had any questions I know I can ask our family here
