  3. Just had my surgery 11 days ago on the 25th. First 2 days were in hospitol where the nurses took care of me. Came home on fri and my meal plan was 2oz SF jello with protein in it 3x and water. Walking slowly as much as I could and resting. It was difficult trying to get up on my own, my family was a great support. My mom would make sure I would sip an ounce every 10 mins, my brother would help me up and check on me constantly and my dad got me anything I needed. My first shower was hard, thankfully mom was there and after the first week- life was getting better. Now I'm moving, getting up on my own, drinking my protein shakes, eating 3 sqare meals of 2 oz pureed food and sipping my water My sleeve is tender and swollen but I don't regret a thing.
  4. This thread really helped me and I brought: Chapstick Pillow pet (gift from friend) for my new tummy Change of clothes That's it actually. Kaiser provided everything from gown to toothpaste and brush, to pillows and blankets and tummy girdles.
  5. Love being 199 and hitting ONEderland in 10 days!!!!!!!!! Don't love the constipation.
  6. I thought about special k protein but realized that they are high in sugar. I drink a premier protein RTD shake from costco a day- 30 grams protein 1 gram sugar love it!
  7. 199! I never thought I would make it to ONEderland this fast!!!!!!!! 10 days post op and lost 17 pounds total Super happy!
  8. Thank you Dorrie, Andy and all4my4! Glad it's over and done and if other people are contemplating it to go for it. LovePINK hope your surgery went absolutely well!! Keep us posted
  9. LovePINK you're gonna do GREAT! You just sleep and wake up and its done lol. You'll probably feel nauseous but that'll go away. Keep me updated you'll be in my thoughts <3 Thanks Amanda and Irene!! Yeah I busted the inside of my lip (thank god my nose, forehead and cheek and chin was saved!!), bruised my left arm from falling on it and hurt my left shoulder- but I didn't feel any of this until after the surgery because this all happened so fast where I didn't have time to feel pain. It was fall, IV, sleep, IV, surgery then heal. Wow 8 hours! Thats long but true we feel no time lol. Glad to be on the loser's bench baby! Lovepink see you there!
  10. Ok so Tues Jan 24th I was on Clear liquids only-had Water and chicken broth throughout the day. I was so excited and felt prepared mentally and physically. I’m a Kaiser baby and my doctor didn’t require a 2 week liquid diet- just clears the night before 10oz of magnesium citrate. Around 6pm I took that and it tasted awful but whatevs. Around 11pm I went to go take a shower and scrub with the antibacterial scrub the bariatric team provided and I remember I had a quick urge to release and couldn’t. I went back in the shower and the water felt so good from straining and I couldn’t wait to fall asleep. I raised my head to wash my face and closed my eyes…and woke up on the floor of the tub with my mom shaking me up (my brother heard me fall and woke up my parents), she’s talking and I can’t hear her or the shower. I was like-I fell asleep? I realized I fainted. The water was warm and I just felt so tired. I wanted to sleep there to be honest. I got up and told her I must have dozed off and needed to use the scrub before I get out (I can’t believe I still wanted to scrub lol) so I got up reached for the scrub and fainted again!! Mom caught me and slowly brought me down. I woke up and this time was worried, mom dressed me and my brother called 911. I was freezing and my dad was holding me keeping me warm. Paramedics said my blood pressure was very low and I was dehydrated, the put an IV in me and drove to Kaiser ER where I had 4 bags of Fluid before I could go home. My dad did not want me to get the surgery after this but I was like if I’m not getting it tomorrow, I’m never going to put myself through this again I won’t get the surgery. Got home at 3a, slept till 7 then headed to Kaiser by 8:30. Greeted with more fluids! I was definitely not dehydrated anymore lol. Mom stayed with me till the ‘end’ of my old self. Surgery was scheduled at 11 but surgeon was concerned and kept me on fluids till almost 1, I was going crazy waiting!! My mom- she is my angel and rock. She kept me calm, patient and relaxed. Kaiser surgeon team- super friendly, polite and to the point. I felt ready and prepared…until 5 mins before surgery…Slowly I started feeling anxious, then worried, then panicky. The nurse dropped a bag of IV fluid and for some reason I thought they would make a mistake on me and I was going to die! I started crying and shaking and I don’t fully understand why I got scared-I just did. I kept wondering-is this a mistake? Am I going to not wake up? My mom was trying so hard to help without her crying too because she wanted to ease my fear. The team came in one by one and introduced themselves and were very kind. Two of the girls walked me into the op room, held my hand and were extremely nice and honest- yes there is 1 in 100 chance of leaks but the surgeon has had none with his patients. The surgeon talked to me and said that there is no pressure, they want me to feel safe and know they will take care of me, they want me to be comfy, most of all they want me not to feel forced. They made me feel like I was not crazy and I appreciated that. I woke up in my hospital room and didn’t feel much pain, just sore like a truck ran over me. Didn’t really talk much at the hospital. Mom and dad were there and let me relax, slept the first day. Kept waking up nauseous and only slept every 2-3 hours or so, waking up to dry heave. At night the nurses had me walk and I did a lap, go back to bed and press the pain med button only after every walk. Other than that I didn’t need it. Went home the next night. Really sore, tender, it was a struggle to walk but gets easier. Every day gets better. I do not regret this AT ALL super happy and ready for my journey. It’s been a crazy beginning but I learned that if I can do this, I can do anything I set my mind and heart to. I’m journaling my wl through youtube and recording my inches. I hope of your thinking of this, I would recommend the sleeve and if you have any questions I’m happy to help, let’s be friends!
  11. My doctor gave me a month to rest and I am so appreciative of that, I have a job where I constantly move, bend, lift and it requires me to be energetic. I am 8 days post op and my pouch is very tender and sore. All I am doing is just focus on school, walking and water/protein intake. I applaud those who work after a week or two. As for me- I love my healing time. I can't even drive my car and don't even want to. I wake up feeling tinges of pain somewhere in my sleeve and can't wait for that to go away, I just had the surgery and am in no rush for weight loss- I just want to heal properly and I would feel uncomftorable returning to work this early. So I got four blissful weeks off.
  12. *hugs* walking will truly help the gas move throughout the body. I'm one week out and it slowly gets better each day. I'm tender, gassy, burpy and trying to move lol. We got this! Stay hydrated, that's key. Sip slowly, burp and wait to repeat. It'll get better.
  13. I just started vloggling my yt its on my link whats yours?
  14. Hey mom I had my sleeve on the 25th and I'm there with you. I am tired and gassy barely spoke words the first 3 days let alone feel like typing now. Everyday will get better- every.day. thats whats keeping me going. I chicken'd out 5 mins before the surgery and freaked bad, because I just wanted all this to be over with and DONE. Thankfully I have a supportive family who has my back and a kind surgery team who understood and calmed me. I would do this again. I'm happy its done and know we have a new wonderful healthy life to look forward to. Just one step at a time, one day at a time. Trust me- the head hunger is unexplainably strong but I am a fighter, I gained this weight and I am sure it's going off. You'll feel better when your body changes and feels better. I'm with you. Currently at day 5- I am having SF Jello 2oz 3x a day., h2o and 1 premier Protein shake. The liquid intake is hard but we can do this!
  15. I'm 5 days post op and struggling to get liquids in but I'm managing. LOVE the premier chocolate shakes <3 11 ounces of heaven for me since all I have is h2o, sf jello, broth and strained cream soup. I do make sure to have one a day from now on.
