  1. I did't have any bleeding. I don't think that is normal. I would call your dr.
  2. I had company about 15 minutes after I got home and I was fine. However, I had to have a short visit as the pain meds made me sleepy. My surgery was out patient and I was home about an hour after I woke up in recovery.
  3. Thank you for your wonderful post. I am 8 days post op and I felt I could have written it. I did not feel any hunger until yesterday and then after I ate a few bites I was full. Please keep posting!
  4. I use Jillian Michaels from Wal-mart and add Peanut Butter to the chocolate one. Its really good and I actually look forward to it. I also use ice to make them thicker. Easier for me to eat them with a spoon than drink. You can also add the sugar free syrups (like chocolate or strawberry) to make them more like milkshakes.
  5. I can't wait for that day I am 1 week post op and so far, so good!
  6. I was expected recovery to be worse than it actually was. I was sore, but no real pain, BUT I did take my pain meds on time the first few days. I'm 5 days post op and going back to work tomorrow. I could probably have went back a few days ago, but decided to take it slow.

I rode in the car for the first time today also. We really are on the same time table! I think we will have to baby our incisions for a little while. My doesn't hurt but it is tender to the touch.
  8. I'm going back tomorrow, which is 6 days after surgery. But my job is not very physically demanding. I could have probably went back a few days ago, but just decided not to rush it.
  9. I use Jillian Michaels from Walmart. It is about $10 but so far it has lasted a while.
  10. With that attitude I am sure you will do great! I am 5 days post op. I was only on pre op diet for 5 days (I was on a time crunch). I had surgery on Friday. Since starting the preop until now, I have lost 14 lbs.
  11. HI Newbie! As you know, I am day 5 too. I have done liquids with some FF pudding or yogurt. (which is on my drs plan). I am not suppose to start mushies until Day 7, but I have not had any problems at all and am ready for the next step. But to make sure my inside's heal properly I am going to follow my docs plan exactly and try not to overdo it. Keep posting. I like seeing how we compare You are my lap band twin, both born on the same day
  12. Thanks for all the feedback. I decided to go ahead and go to my appointment. Turns out the improved eye sight is sometimes a benefit of lap-band surgeries. Who woulda thought it? My eye dr said it is usually a little later down the road but that mine must have changed early. My new prescription is a lot better than pre-surgery. Yeah for lap-band! This is one benefit I had not expected!
  13. Im on Day 4 Post Op. When do the surgi-strips come off? My stomach is itching (Im sure from healing) but they bandages are driving me crazy
  14. Really? My surgeon's office told me today that they don't think it would be from my surgery. So I made an appointment with the eye dr for tomorrow. I cannot even see well enough to go back to work! But I hate to go to the dr, get a new prescription and then it changes in a few days.
  15. Has anyone had any vision issues after the surgery? I am 5 days post op and I am having trouble seeing close up (books, computer) but ok for far away (tv, etc) The nurse told me yesterday that it might have been a result of the patch behind my ear with pain meds, but I took the patch off yesterday and have taken very little pain meds and I am still having issues. Any thoughts?
  16. Thank you for sharing. I am just starting so I really enjoy hearing others stories.
  17. Thanks Best1. I would love to keep in touch since we both got band ed on the same day!
  18. Thats a good question. I have only been banded for 2 days, so I would also like to know the answer.
  19. i was banded on Friday. I am able to eat as much Soup or broth as I want. Is that normal for liquids? I have no restriction so far. Also, have any of you noticed a bloody nose after surgery? Well, its not really bleeding out, but when I blow my nose, it is bloody up in there Gross I know.
  20. Did anyone notice their skin itching after the surgery. I had my surgery yesterday and today my arms are itching like they are extremely dry.
  21. Thanks. I am not limited on liquids. All of these responses helped!
  22. I had my surgery yesterday and I feel pretty good. Today I am suppose to eat 3 small meals of broth, etc. Then the nurse mentioned drinking a Protein shake and that it may take me all day to get down. Do I add this shake in addition to the 3 meals, or as a replacement? Yesterday I drank all day without any issues. Is that normal or should I feel in fullness with liquids? I appreciate any help you can give. I would call my dr but I don't think they are open today. Thanks!
  23. OK, I am so glad I feel so good, but it seems a little weird since there are a lot of posts on here about the pain. I also had a hernia repair and got the iband. I am a little sore and my shoulder hurts a little bit from gas, but it is nothing major. I have been up walking quite a few times tonight. My question though, is I seem ok to drink as much Water and Gatorade as I want. Is this normal? I haven't even really had to take sips. Also, tomorrow I go on liquid clear foods, plus Protein shake. Do I eat Breakfast and sip on a Protein shake all day or is the protein shake considered my breakfast? Thanks in advance!
