The Count Down..............

My lapband surgery will be on 12-20. That's three days away. I'm so happy but now It's all I'm thinking about. I'm guessing this is normal. My surgery is at 2:00 and I just found out that co-workers are gonna stop by and visit me after work. However nice that is..... I can't believe I'd feel "up" for it since I would have only been awak a couple of hours at the most.

How did you all fell 1-5 hours after you woke up from surgery? Did company at the hosptial make you nuts?

Thanks!

I had company about 15 minutes after I got home and I was fine. However, I had to have a short visit as the pain meds made me sleepy. My surgery was out patient and I was home about an hour after I woke up in recovery.

My preacher came by afterward and sat with my husband while I was beening transfered to recovery. He is a great guy. He has seen me in through a lot. I work with the youth, so I go along on all the trip, like to beach trip and snow skiing. He told me that I looked better the day od surgery then the day at the water park. LOL If you have someone to come visit you, try to ask them to be positive toward you before hand. I knew he would joke with me. So I knew it would be good. My BFF came by to see me, but I don't remember her being there. I talked to her once I got home. She came and got me yesterday and took me to see Christmas lights and brought me a unsweet tea. She is the BEST. Tried to surround your self with positive people. If you do experience negative remarks. Ignore them, because in a few month, you can throw the weight lose in their face. LOL

I would make sure with your doctor that you will even be there 1-2 hours after your procedure...especially for guests. I had to be there at 6:30, started at 7:30, was being woken up at 9:25 and was in the car by 10:10. I was never in a room really (for visitor to come) and my boyfriend only was asked to come back when they asked me if I wanted him to help me get dressed. I felt completely fine though. A little confused because I was in a different room, a little cold but other than that just fine. Good luck and you will be fine!

Thanks everyone. My surgery is at 2:00 and I have been told by my Dr. that I will stay overnight. Then early in the AM I will have the xray and be on my way if everything looks good (around 9am). Guess this all just heavy on my mind. Two days to go to start a new long lasting future. Did I mention I would do anything for a steak? I'm starving. the last eight days haven't been so bad but today..... I feel starving and dizzy. LOL!

Thanks for your comments and suggestions. There are no better way to receive them other than from people who have gone through it. Many thanks
