  3. That is so fantastic!!! Congratulations, Sara! I am at the beginning of my journey. Tentatively scheduled for surgery on June 19 -- insurance paperwork goes in next week. Scared/excited/scared/hopeful/scared/anxious and did I mention scared? Seeing your posts gives me hope!! I have about 90 to lose. YOU GO GIRL!!!
  4. Im about to kill someone too! Lol. I chewed gum but it only made me hungrier. I think when i start chewing, my stomach thinks im going to swolliw somthing! Ugh
  5. @Cherrybomb: what are the exercises? I might have to start doing them to help prevent my turkey neck!

Good luck! You'll do great! I still have 2 months until my surgery. Check in with us after and let us know how everything went!
  7. I havent been sleeved yet but i tred vodka and G2 low calorie grape Gatorade. It was tasty! I believe there is a light vodka out there too.
  8. I just had my first meeting with my surgeon and he says he "over-sews". I believe its the same thing as double stapling. Its just a precaution to prevent leaks.
  9. Im on a self-imposed liquid diet. I notice that ppl are saying that they drink 4-5 shakes a day. How much protein and how many calories are ppl consuming on their liquid diets? Just want to be sure im doing this right. Thank you.
  10. You ALL look great! A friend if mine mentioned the subject and she got me thinking about it. That is why i asked. I think a positive attitude can make a person look younger too! Im going to work on that!
  11. I hear conflicting stories about the sleeve stretching. One Dr said that the sleeve is the thickest part of the stomach and does not stretch very well. Then i hear ppl say that it does stretch. I know that once the swelling goes down there is more room but i cant see it stretching out too much. I dont believe sleevers can gain all their weight back, can they??
  12. By the way, I 'm talking about people I know that have been through surgery.
  13. I've noticed a lot of older-aged people who have been through WLS, may tend to look older. I'm already showing the signs of age at 55. I hope I don't look 65 when I'm done with this process. Thoughts? Comments? Thank you!
  14. Are you exercising at all? My daughter and son-in-law brought over their Wii Fit and want me to use it. I guess I should try it. It looks like fun.
  15. Glad you!re doing well. It's my day 3 and lm getting a headache. I'm sure it's carb withdrawal. No more nausea tho. How many shakes are you doing a day? How much protein?
  16. I'm on a pre-op diet and two shakes is 53g protein. I'm reading that ppl are having shakes every 2-3 hrs. Are we supposed to go over 60g of protein? My diet is self-imposed because I gained 20lbs during my 12 month waiting period. I don't want ins co to turn me down next month.
  17. Wow yesterday was my day 2 and I was nauseous too! No dry heaves tho.
  18. This is too funny. I try so hard not to talk peoples ears off about the surgery. I'm on month 11 of a 12 month counseling period. I gained 20 lbs since I started so I'm trying to lose 15 lbs by May 2. That's when the surgical nurse sends the ppr work to the ins co. I don't want any reason for them to deny me So freaking excited!!
  19. Oh I didn't think it would flush so easily! Great cuz I'm on my third cup today. It's good! (Better than Bouillon). From what I've read, I believe I need to drop one of two meals and have 2 shakes and only one small meal a day.
  20. Happy for you that your surgery is soon. I have to wait until June 19. And I'm having anxiety about it but it's totally normal!! We are embarking on a journey different than the journey we've been on! It's normal to feel this way. What does your pre diet consist of and how many calories?
  21. 1000 sounds more reasonable. Under 1000 I think your body goes into starvation mode won't let you lose.
  22. What would the calorie count be on a pre-op diet? I'm entering my meals into Myfitness pal.com. If I choose under 1200 cal a day, it shows me losing weight slower.
  23. Yes, 2011weight, I would like to know the allowed carbs as well. I think I can do this. I got through yesterday but i had 1 shake, plain yogurt, sugar-free jello salad and chix. I worry about the sodium in broth so I haven't had that. I'm not able to walk yet because my back hurts. I'm wondering if all the ppl in this thread lost their weight without exercise during ther liquid diet.....
  24. Does it have to be bariatric advantage. I have several others. How much jello and broth? Thank you!! I hope I can be strong thru it!!
