Lifestylechange45 reacted to NewNewMe in Band to sleeve in one surgery. Who's had it done that way? How long had you had your band? What was your recovery like? Any complications? Regrets?
Very normal! And when you wake up on the other side you realize how glad you are that you did it! Hang in there!

I had bad reflux after having the band for several years. I had the sleeve done 10 weeks ago and haven't had reflux since! But they also repaired the hiatal hernia when they did the sleeve.

Just got my lap band reversed to the sleeve. I had a lot of problems with the lap band. June 24th was my surgery date. How are you all doing?

Why we can't just leave the bacon alone she said that the doctor got on to her. You learn from your mistakes. I think she got it.... she was really asking for help. So, please leave it alone. If you look in the mirror you are being a bully. We are here for help. I'm happy she told us because someone else has made a mistake but to scared to say something. Her doctor wouldn't have known if she did not tell him.

Please follow your own doctor's plan as they may have reasons for having you watch fat that other people did not have to deal with.
my surgeon did not have a pre-op diet at all except, of course, the night before surgery.
it's good to be curious about other people's pre-op diet, but really at the end of the day it is you and your surgeon and how well you followed their instructions.

I am quite certain I don't have the ability to anticipate whether or how my posts will offend hundreds of posters and lurkers.
But I can solve that problem.
    Best wishes, all.

@@betsylulu2525 I haven't had surgery yet but wanted to say that you had great success losing 110lbs and gaining 10 back does not put you anywhere near whale status!!! Give yourself credit for doing as good as you have! You are probably retaining fluids - be sure to drink plenty of Water (add lemon), reduce sodium intake and try to relax! Getting married is exciting and stressing about 10lbs when you lost 110 is going to take away from your excitement and fun over the next few weeks! Many blessings for a beautiful wedding and happy life! You can deal with these health issues after the wedding!

The reason I asked if you had an attorney is because this sounds like malpractice. But seeing that you're in England and get "free healthcare" from the government, I guess you can't.
Best of luck and I would seek help elsewhere.

Hi everyone. My name is Holly and I am 8 months post op. I have lost approximately 120 pounds. My start weight on the day of surgery was 344 and my current weight is 224.
I have struggled with my weight all of my adult life. After having my children, it's like my weight just kept increasing. I tried EVERYTHING!! I prayed and prayed for God to heal my body from obesity. Before making the decision to have gastric bypass, I thought about it for years, lol. It was, what if this and what if that. When I finally made the decision, there was no turning back (regardless of what anyone said). I can honestly say that it was one of the best decisions I have made in my life. My life has changed dramatically. I've lost friends (which is crazy), but my health has improved, my quality of life has improved, I can run around with my kids, I feel BEAUTIFUL, and my marriage has improved. I haven't been this happy in a very long time. I have a long way to go to get to my goal weight, but I know that I will get there.

I am 8 months post op and 19 pounds away from goal and a "normal" BMI.
I've been very excited lately with my changes and have been coming out socially more then ever. My life since the sleeve has been work, gym, walk and home. I would host dinner parties occasionally but only for close family and friends. I have recently been accepting invites to parties and outings because the shame is gone. I now can hold my head up and feel comfortable where ever I go. It really feels good to feel normal

The thing I miss the most right now is popcorn. I was a popcorn junky. I always had to have a bag at the movie theater. At home I would keep several varieties to pop myself. When I go into a place and smell that smell I almost want to cry.

I am Scotch/Irish which means I am cheap. The part that ticks me off is I will NEVER go to an all you can eat buffet. EVER. Those buggers got my last dime pre-surgery, I know I will never eat enough to make it worth while to ever go in there again.
