  1. you get a charger that plugs into your laptop and when you are within so many feet of the charger the charger will download the information and upload it to your fitbit account. Now its up to you to download the android or ipad/ipod touch application so you can put in the food stuff.... I found a used FITBIT on ebay...I paid 75 for it.
  2. You all will succeed!!!! My goal is to be down 50lbs by the beginning of December (that's 6 months after getting banded)
  3. gastric bypass requires daily supliments for the rest of your life the sleeve requires daily vitamins lapband...doesn't hurt and you should take them when you are in a liquid stage, etc.
  4. i just got a fitbit. It records your steps, elevation, and you can record your eating habits and it records your sleep patterns.
  5. My surgeon has stated that a chewable is needed until you get back to regular foods but you don't need permanent suppliments with the band. (unlike gastric bypass, etc).
  6. Good luck on your journey! I'm getting banded on June 4th!
  7. She must have stretched it back out....but my surgeon has said he's had a few band over bypass
  8. woohoo! congrats! Such an inspiration. I hope to lose 50 pounds by the end of the year. We'll see.
  9. I'm definitely ready for surgery. Bought a fitbit so i can record my steps and flights and I'll also log what i eat on my fitbit android app. It also records your sleep pattern because the correct amount of sleep is also important in losing weight. I fully expect everyone on here to whoop my behind if I slack behind.
  10. technically I bought a used fitbit but it should be fine....we'll see...
  11. Five days from now I'll be in recovery waking up from the anethesia.
  12. how do you like your fitbit?
  13. i just found a fitbit on ebay for $75.00 (including shipping). So I'm a fitbit owner! I'll get to use it starting the day after my surgery!
  14. I'm being banded 6/4/2012 at 7:30am. I'm on a liver reduction diet and have lost 5 lbs in a weeks time. It's not so bad!
  15. are there any fitbit alternatives (cost wise)???
  16. um email the admin? Or just don't post again. Eventually your post will get age and disappear. You posted once before these two posts so there isn't much there.
  17. I'm sorry to hear this. My wife was banded last October, so she's my support system. I have no intentions on telling my parents or sibilings and it really makes no sense to tell any friends. My work thinks I'm going in for hernia repair.
  18. I've cheated some...still zero fat food...and I still lost poundage.
  19. so far I've lost 5 pounds (in a weeks time)
  20. a lot of it is eating the right foods...eating healthy foods at 1500 calories is different than half good and half bad at 1500
  21. Everyone is different. It depends on if you are following the lap-band diet (so to speak) and if you are exercising any. There's one person on here who lost 50lbs in 3-4 months because when he was allowed he was exercising 3-5 days a week and eating a high protein, very low fat diet.
  22. so if my pre-op diet is 2 weeks of a liquid diet..then in reality its more like a month...because you are on liquids two weeks after as well. I really think its needs to be more of a realistic pre-op diet than 2 weeks.
  23. why is it that some doctors only want one or two days of a liquid diet and some want two weeks or more? I don't get it.
  24. there are some that follow a lapband diet Sunday through Friday and splurge some on Saturday. You should be able to eat most (depending when you had your fill last). It's all about the quantity you have eaten. If you are eating like you should 6 days a week and then on that seventh you splurged some, then you should be fine.
