  7. I get banded on June 4th...so my banded journey starts soon.
  8. oh I had the 6 months diet from november to april...my date was set for June 26th for the surgery but I got it moved up.
  9. So my surgery date has been moved up from June 26 to June 4th! Talk about a move up! So now I'm starting my liquid diet, getting my blood drawn in the morning and see doctor tomorrow afternoon to 2nd appointment!
  10. First off while anyone getting the band effects the entire family, you shouldn't ask others to eat in another room. If it bothers that they are eating around you and you are near the kitchen then I'd get further away from that temptation. Now if he is bringing the food into the living room (outside the kitchen) then I'd ask politely... My wife has the band and I don't yet and we have a son. My wife sits around us all the time while we are eating and it doesn't seem to bother her. Roles reversed I wouldnt put someone out (or into another room be cause I had to be in that room and didn't want to be around them while they are eating. You won't be able to do that in every situation you are in (IE Work for example).
  11. UPDATE YOUR TICKER JOEL!!!!! <-----
  12. Thanks for the responses everyone! I appreciate them!
  13. LOL...naah he's 100% mine and she isn't cheating on me...that much I know.
  14. I've posted already, but good job. Proud of you!
  15. You will succeed. I know this because you know where your problems lie. The next step is facing them headon. Get a counsellor and get assistance with the head hunger and the throwing up. Then get on a meal plan that will work with your band, then get on an exercise plan that will work with your band, and you will lose weight.
  16. I'm gonna have to use the gym here at work. I was going to sign up at 24 hour fitness and my wife just gave me a look like "when are we going to have time to do that." I just shrugged her off...
  17. We do hold hands from time to time....she's had quite an attitude as of late ... and she's apologized at times...and relates it to work stress and the fact that she isn't happy with the weight she's lost. But we do hold hands and I guess you could say we cuddle at night...but the intimacy level were at when we met prior to getting married a few years ago is gone....
  18. I feel like I should post this here because I don't think there's a topic elsewhere where I can get something off of my chest. I met my wife in 2005 (spring) and we got married in 2008. We had a fairly active sex life amazingly until we got engaged and married. After we got married the sex went to a standstill. My wife had a back injury in 2004, but that didn't prevent her and I from having a healthy sex life through 2008. We didn't have sex between October 2008 through August 2009. In July 2009 she had surgery on her back and a month later we decided we would have a kid and she agreed that it probably would like a few months a week before she got pregnant and she agreed we would have to be more active sexually. Believe it or not she got pregnant after we had sex once. So she was pregnant and we didn't have sex for the next 10 months or so, and then she had our son and after healing from giving birth to our son she then didn't want to have sex because she didn't feel sexy (no matter what i did, or said, it didnt matter). Now fast forward to Fall 2011 and she got the lapband but still doesn't feel sexy and has told me that she just needs to lose more weight so she can feel better about herself. I'm getting banded June of 2012. I will lose 100-110 lbs and I will weigh around 155-165. For some reason I have a feeling that even at the point a year down the line or so, she would have lost at least 100 lbs, I think she will then say that all the excess skin makes her feel unsexy and we still won't have a sex life.... I simply don't know what to do about this. She was overweight when I met her, when we got married and when she had our son. I loved her then and i do now. I tell her regularly through way beyond words. I'm not at the end of my rope. I just don't know what to do.
  19. Joel, you need to update your ticker!
  20. some people have A LOT of gas in the basement! heh
  21. Congrats!!! It's an uphill battle, but envision where you will be a year from now!
  22. My surgeon's office said they used to say don't use a straw...they've changed their opinion on that ...now they say "use a straw if it doesn't cause you any discomfort".
  23. Congrats! You will succeed!!!!!
  24. what protein drinks is everyone going to use?
  25. my date is set at June 26th. I'm trying to get it moved up a couple weeks. I'll probably know in a week or two if my surgery date will be moved to the week of June 14th.
