  1. Yes! I got horrific blisters from the adhesive from the bandaids. That was more painful than the actual incisions! I had never had a problem with bandaids before surgery, so go figure! I guess it shouldn't surprise me, my body has done all kinds of changing post-op!
  2. It took me 3 weeks before I felt no pain in my abdomen... I had a pulling on my right side that was SO annoying/ painful. It seemed like 3 weeks was the magic number for me, it just all went away and I feel totally normal now. I was getting worried because I had friends that went back to work a week later, I was beginning to think I was a wimp! But, no we all heal at different rates... I think you're right on track!
  3. Me too!! I'm one month out and for the past few days I've been hungry and eating what seems like way more than I used to, I don't feel the fullness anymore, I just stop eating because I'm scared of stretching/over eating. Glad I'm not the only one! I also just broke a 10 day stall today, lost a whopping half pound! ( insert sarcasm here) I'm really starting to get discouraged
  4. Day of sleeve: 299 3 weeks (3/30/12) Current weight: 274 No gains, but starting slowing down already
  5. Day of sleeve: 299 3 weeks (3/30/12) Current weight: 274 No gains, but starting slowing down already
  6. Im a hairstylist and took 2 weeks... Should have taken 3!! It's the fatigue that gets ya! That first week back to work was awful, be safe and take 3-4.... You can always go back early if you feel up to it
  7. I'm one week one day post op... I am having no problem with my sleeve I've had no problems with getting my fluids, just my protein. I'm already tired of protein drinks I still have pain/discomfort in my right side... Makes it hard to bend and get up from laying down, but it's doable. Started with extreme fatigue today! Hope it goes away because I go back to work Friday and I have a physical job!
  8. Thanks! I did have shallow breathing in the hospital... So much so, that they didn't give me a morphine pump and I was on oxygen the whole time!
  9. I've done a search and can't seem to find the answer, so I apologize if this has been asked lately. I've been running a low grade temperature off and on for the last 4 days since my sleeve. Ranging from 99.1-101.2. Not steady, just off and on. ( Also, no other problems at all) Called my nurse Friday and she told me not to worry, that it's not unusual to run a low fever after surgery but if it went over 102 this weekend to call the on-call nurse and head to the hospital. It hasn't been over 101.2 since yesterday, but reading about leaks has me NERVOUS! Can anyone put my mind at ease and tell me they did the same thing post-op? Thanks!
  10. So happy you are doing so well! The first few days weren't so smooth for me :/. But I'm day 4 and seeing much improvement!
  11. Yes, they sent me home with liquid lortab... I tried not taking it but when I miss a dose, I start running a low grade fever, so im taking it around the clock... I was just hoping I wouldn't need it, ya know
  12. Thank you all SO much!!!! Im sitting here crying( tears of joy) because After reading y'alls posts, I feel like I've got my second wind of strength!! My husband, family and friends are so supportive but they don't know what I'm going through... I thank God that I found you guys to get get me through this!! You Guys are the best support a girl could have... Thank you, Thank you ,Thank you!
  13. I am two days out from surgery, got sleeved Tuesday morning. I think I went into this thinking it was going to be a breeze! Which, so far it has not First night in the hospital was baddd... The gas was horrendous! I did the strips, the mylecon drops and walked the halls like crazy, but the gas remained. Got home yesterday evening and was VERY sore, but I thought that would ease up by today, but it hadn't... I'm having some serious buyers remorse right now. Oh and I still feel that hungry/empty feeling in my tummy. I definitely have restriction cause it takes me probably 10 minutes just to get my liquid meds down. I know I'm being whiny, but I just need to hear some encouragement from you sleeve veterans. I just feel like I can't see a light at the end of tunnel
  14. Good Luck!!! I'll be getting my sleeve same time as you tomorrow!!! I'm excited/nervous... And I can't sleep! Guess I'll keep surfin the web till I get sleepy :/
  15. Actually, my Dr doesn't require the pre-op diet! I have been trying to follow it for the last two weeks tho... I have to admit, It would be easier I think if I HAD to do it, verses self inflicted! Lol
  16. Get some rest and GOOD LUCK!!! .::Surgery Date::. 3-20-12 @ 297 lbs
  17. Oh that's good! I see we're surgery buddies! I'm having my sleeve on the 20th also!!! Good Luck!!!
  18. What flavor did you try? The lemon- lime is great! Taste like 7up kinda. But here's a question, are they the right kind of protein for us after surgery?? I've been told they are not the kind of protein we should have???
  19. lessofme: I am glad to hear this! I'm a hairstylist also ( self employed) I had to take off 6 weeks for carpal tunnel surgery about 4 months ago, so I really didn't want/need to take off more than I needed for WLS. I have been getting nervous about only taking 10 days off, but you've made my day reading your post! I feel much better about my 10 days off now
  20. Hang in there welittle1 ... Where there's a will, there's a way! It'll happen for you... Good luck!
