Fears And Doubts
We all have these fears. The people that are giving you feedback about the surgery is talking from their fears and ignorance. They don't know anything about these medical procedures and are speaking out of turn. This is not easy to do but very much worth it both physically and emotionally.

Really Freaked Out

Gurgles...is It Gas Or Is It Acid?
I went to the ER when I was around 6 weeks post op because I thought I had a blood clot. No blood clot but the doctor told me I had a lot of gas! Hahaha. I wasn't gurgling loudly like I do at other times. So I know it was both acid that was contributing to the gas.

Meeting Surgeon Tomorrow To Set My Date!
There are so many conflicting emotions running though out everyone who loves us and ourself. Just take it one day at a time and embrace who you are today! Everyone is totally fearful when making this decision and thinking about all the complications that can happen. But there are a small percentage of people that actually have any kind of complications. Try to be thankful for this opportunity. It is the best opportunity I have ever made.

Protein Shakes - Liquid Or Food?
I was told in the beginning 8 weeks, my protein drinks can be counted towards my liquids. But then later no. No matter what, I would try to increase my liquid state even if it means drinking G2 gatorade to add flavor. Great job so far! ;)

Back/chest Pain When Inhaling
If I was having the problem your having right now, I would go to the ER due to the risk of it being a leak. I know the DR. didn't think it was a leak, but they don't really know for sure. Your pains are worst now. Do you have a fever? You will not be able to return to work tomorrow anyways. This is just a complication and when you get it fixed, you are going to love your sleeve. Please go to the ER or urgent care and perhaps they will do a sonagram or mri to check. Worst yet, I would be afraid of a blood clot and that is life threatening. Please take good care of yourself. Let us know what's going on, we are concerned for your well being.

Sodium Intake In Foods
I am totally shocked and I know I probably shouldn't be. I am a total salt lover and I always put salt on everything. I have days when my weight fluctuates and i freak out about it. Today I had a Premier Protein drink and fried egg. I was looking at the values on Myfitnesspal.com and realized that I never logged sodium. So I went to settings and changed the Calcium column to potassium. Wow, I was totally shocked in the salt I eat. I'm already at 528 potassium That's not including the salt that I add to my food. This is why my weight fluctuates so much. I am choosing to change this bad habit right now, I don't need that much salt in my diet if this is the havoc that I go through. Just is so insightful, now I can change this habit.

When Did You Start Protein Drinks After Surgery?
I started my protein drink the day I was released from the hospital. I wasn't able to get much in, but it did count towards my fluid intake.

Unexplained Rash
I don't have any ideal but a rash is usually an allergic reaction to something. It would be a good idea to call you surgeon's office tomorrow morning. You would feel better about it. Keep taking the benadryl mean while and please let us know what you find out.

5 Days Op With A Few General Questions
You are doing just fine. It is a lot easier drinking fluids because if you drink too much, your pyloris valve releases it into the colon. The same for protein drinks. It is really important that you adhere to the rule of no drinking 30 minutes before your meal to 30 minutes after your meal. Drinking before will take up space and drinking after will push your food intake into you colon, allowing you to eat more. Or it could cause you to vomit. Keep ROCKIN your SLEEVE!
