  1. Patrick: You are a very determined person and I love your persistence! You will succeed and just keep walking and stick to your liquid diet even though it is the hardest thing you will do! you can do this! I really admire all your hard work.....
  2. Congrats! You are my hero! I need to go to the Mall today to get in my exercise.
  3. Here it is: The BASICS BOOTCAMP: For 5 STRICT DAYS I will eat only... Proteins: Seafoods, Poultry and eggs, Dairies, nuts/seeds including Peanut Butter. Veggies: Green only. Fruits: None. Breads/Cereals/Other Carbs: None. Fluids: One gallon of Water (128 oz.) or Protein drinks. Avoid: Sugar and Sodium Once the 5 days are over, I am pretty much over the Sugar Carb Demon. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate carbs! I do need them to live a healthy life and since I workout a lot it is important I have them. However, I need GOOD carbs. Whole grains, fruits, veggies... But I don't need processed sugars. White carbs, in cereals, breads, rice... etc.
  4. The binder or wrap will help a lot. The PA at the surgeon's office told me to wear it when I had pain in my left side. It helped a lot.
  5. A friend of mine went to life lift that's advertised on TV. She had it a 3 weeks ago and said she had a lot of discomfort. She didn't return to work for at least 2 weeks. I plan on having this procedure done in about 1 year. I have a turkey neck and jowls. LOL
  6. I loved hearing my girl friend's external voice as she was walking out of my house. She had her head down and stated, "I can't handle you skinniness!." This just made me smile. And yes, I do love my skinniness.
  7. Why not focus yourself on getting your RN license. But mean while, working as a medical assistant would help get you through.
  8. I understand that you feel that if you can't do the pre-opt diet without cheating, than you might have the same trouble after the surgery. In some ways your right, but 99% of us have made bad choices. The preopt diet is the hardest. Do the best you can and don't worry about the procedure It will happen and you will adjust. I promise you. You will learn to eat healthier smaller portions and you will love your weight loss! It's totally amazing. Don't give up, you can do this, you've come this far already.
  9. So happy your feeling better. I got dehydrated and now I mix gatorade with water and drink it constantly. I keep a bottle with me at all times. So far, so good. When I notice my stomach is feeling dry, I get somewhat panicky. I don't want to ever experience dehydration again.
  10. Yes, especially when drinking liquids, cold or warm.
  11. you will be able to sit down and have meals with your family soon. In fact, you can sit with them and have your liquids as well. Be proud and keep up the good work!
  12. Now that's what I call Rockin that Sleeve! Great job!
  13. Bougie is just a # the doc perfers. The amount of food the sleeve will allow is not that significant. You will loose weight just as quickly as everyone else.. You still have a restriction that will restrict how much you eat.
  14. I can see why you would be apprehensive about this surgery. the lap band failed you and now is this procedure going to fail you? Well the only thing about this procedure that is going to fail you is you. This is a permanent tool, not like the lap-band, you will succeed at losing your weight permanently, but will always have to eat healthy. If you think you can eat what ever you want just in smaller portions, your wrong. You can have some treats, but need to get your protein in, eat low fat, and eat veggies with little starches. It's doable and I am totally enjoying it. I strive at eating healthy organic foods now and so is my DH. I did try eating fatty foods and it showed up in my blood work. Dam it! I thought I had it made. I eat smaller portion sizes now and need to work on exercising. This is the best decision I have made in my life time and have to work on a daily basis to keep to my healthy eating style now. This is my reality.
  15. Peacequeen! It's finally moving! Yayyyy for losing 4 lbs. You've earned it! CONGRATS! Can you see the dancing bananas? LOL
  16. Mina T: I am so proud of you! You are taking control of your life and now living it! you will get to your goal. I read your story and wow! You are a great inspiration to us! Thank you so much for sharing your story.
  17. discordya: So sorry you had a bad experience on that other website. This website is pretty awesome. The people are like family here and are very supportive and will let you know when you get off track. It's not to be mean, it's to help you confront the triggers that get you off track so that you can get back on track and be successful! You are awesome and please don't hold back from sharing here. We are family. There are very, very few times when a negative person is messing around and causing havick, and I usually go back and push the unfollow button, and don't participate in his/her cheap trills. They typically go away because they get bored.
  18. Hi reallyrosie: I was struggling with hunger most of the time too. I had a lot of gas and was always expelling gas, thank goodness it was during the right times when I was alone. LOL. But I ended up increasing my omeprazole, taking gas x, extra strength, and Lactaid, in addition to increasing my fluid intake which I drink a lot of low calorie Gatorade diluted with water. I find that when I drink a lot of fluids and take my arsenal of above listed pills, to my surprise, I'm not really that hungry. Most of the time, my hunger is head hunger which means I'm thinking about some kind of food I love. I am not hungry, just my old thinking kicks in place. When I eat the treat in my head, it doesn't taste as good as I thought it was. So I am constantly reminding myself that I am having head hunger and that I don't need it anyways. this happens to me when I'm bored, having to do something I don't want to do, or feeling depressed. So now I've taken up to exercising. In fact I need to go walking when I'm done with my reply to you. BTW, you have done a great job with your weight loss! CONGRATS! Hope you have more energy and take care. I'm on a healthy eating pattern for life.
  19. In response to Oregondaisy's response, she is 100% right! I only want to put the highest quality of nutrients into my body to help my body function better. I don't have room for a lot of junk. Went to "GLADSTONES" yesturday and there specials were mostly wild caught fish, except for the Salmon. I really wanted the Salmon, but it was farm raised. I so wanted that Salmon but had to chose Wild Caught Tuna! So disappointed. I ended up eating 1/2 small tomato with a little tuna. It was good, but I was so set on Wild Salmon. Nothing but the best for this tummy.
  20. reallyrosy: I really love my sleeve. I talked to my PCP and he told me that I eat smaller portions but still need to be careful of what I eat. he's absolutely right, I got in a habit for a couple of weeks eating 3 mini hersey's bars and then I got dehydrated and they drew blood and I asked if they would test my A1C level for blood glucose and they did. My A1C had climbed from a 6.0 to a 6.3. It should have went down. So I really don't mind eating just healthy foods because I feel so much better anyways. I love my skinniness(I know it's not a word, but I love it anyways) and wouldn't trade it for anything. The word diet has a negative connotation to us due to our past. But now I look at diet as the way I will be eating for the rest of my live. Yep, I do love my sleeve! Hope things start turning around for you too. I intend to honor my sleeve every day.
  21. While your focusing on something that isn't going to happen, you are missing out on today. I would start by focusing on starting healthier eating habits and increasing your exercise for now.
  22. Yayyyyyyyyyy! I love successes! Job well done.
