  1. Wow 8 lbs. on shrimp I'v been eating fish, shrimp, sushi...probably too much. I'm starting to think that my cycle has alot to do with plateaus. For the last 3 months I've noticed a 5 lb drop right after my cycle. Isn't it exciting to be close to Oneder-Land. Keep up the good work
  2. Congratulations both of you! How nice to have a banding buddy to travel with. I'll be thinking of you gals this Friday. Keep us posted
  3. A Congratulations to Robin(CoffeeWench) on her Inamed nationwide advertising campaign that will include television commercials, magazine ads and billboards. And to Sue also, I'm not sure if she was involved? Please fill us in on the details.
  4. Congratulations:D Up and around by the weekend is do-able especially walking, absolutely no lifting...driving is questionable. Everybody is soooo different, It's time for healing, don't over-do-it. You could have pain from the incisions, gas, or side effects from the anesthesia. I did OK on the liquid diet (for 1 week) but have read of others having a hard time. I can understand you being nervous, I myself was quite calm and singing to the nurses, I couldn't wait to be banded. Welcome to the Forum
  5. Hey Gabby I see from another post: You just got a fill. Well I have trouble with chicken but have read that others have trouble with fish even salmon. This fickle band we have, each day is different. Next week you might try your Hoddock(which sounds delish')and have no problem. Then the following week, no way... Sometimes after your stoma gets a bit swollen from something you ate or if you were to PB, you may need a bit of time to relax it. Good luck...welcome to restriction
  6. Hi Karen I flew to Mexico on a wednesday, surgery on thursday, flew back home on saturday and was back to work the following monday. Those first few days back at work were not busy. I can remember standing up and having discomfort. I don't think standing for long periods of time for a least a week post surgery is a good idea. Maybe a tall rolling chair would help. It's a time for healing. Congratulations
  7. One-other suggestion...Do Not lay down directly after taking pills(even cut in half), I've had them lodged and it's very painful.
  8. Nancy:D Thats wonderful. It is all about Health
  9. Hi Debra:D Welcome to the Forum. What did you have done laporoscopy? I hope you get your consultation soon.

  11. Brandi My neighboor has an endless pool, His is about 25 feet long, 10 feet wide. Sits above ground kind-of like a dough-boy. What makes it "endless" is one very powerfull adjustable jet that you can swin into. Its like swimming in place.
  12. Dawnsunshine I'm so EXCITED for you too. I have 2 small children also. Besides haveing a lapband for my health I did it for my kids future.
  13. Hi Nikki I'm so happy for you:D There are a few of us from the sacramento/bay area. Welcome to the forum.
  14. Hi Kim I love my band:D Your healing and will have some minor discomfort, gas and fatigue. Make sure you get your water and protien in. I haven't been to SF since NewYears for seafood, Scoma's is the best! Hope you feel better soon.
  15. Congratulations Kim Healthy Choice! Sorry to hear of your family history. Welcome to the forum.
  16. Thanks for posting this Michelle I live about 50 miles south of SF. I've lived in Mountain View and have been in El Camino Hospital. I'm also an avid News watcher and have not seen or heard of any of this.
  17. Its nice to see more recognition and news stories for the band. Oprah' here we come.
  18. Felicia Welcome to the forum. Congratulations!
  19. Donali You hit it right on the head. (ps Happy Birthday) Jennye Do be carefull if you drink/sip with your meals. That has caused me more trouble of tring to keep food down. Having a cup of tea right before meals helps me alot. Lately with me its 3-5 bites of food, rest(a few small burps not BPs) then a few more bites. Overall I stop eating in 15 minutes. I DO feel the food going down, before my last fill I didn't have that feeling. You are restricted!
  20. I too was SELF-pay Paid exactly what I was quoted. I didn't even give them a deposit. I did however sign a statement prior to surgery claiming if anything were to go wrong additional cost could occur, but that it rarely happens. I know if I have a matter of life or death, my insurance (BC PPO) will cover me anywhere in the world. Of course for the cost they think the service is worth.
  21. Becky 36 LBs is Great Sometimes it takes a few weeks to hit/get cha, Wait.... try some foods like chicken.. Fish .. My fav Cottage Cheese keep the energy and protien up. Its your first fill .. Learn to anticipate restriction, March is just around the corner. PS I'v been poked a lot, I laughed too.
  22. Barb I have the same band as you. What Donali is saying Is So true What we eat Makes the biggest dif....Even the medicatation a person takes can cause the stomach to swell. We have to look at the whole pic.. I f there are other medical reasons for not losseing weight and veiwing the band as a tool....
  23. OMG Thats Great:D Its fabulous BaBs Band Babe ...LOL
