I'm THAT Special...
Distraught was how I felt Sunday when I first read this post and I'm still sad. This is all I've been thinking about, I hope you can feel the vibes I'm sending. Yes it could happen to anyone but you really don't deserve this. Definitely makes me think about how I'm treating my band, the foods I eat, and the band rules. Catching up on my reading today I see so many of us are feeling the same way, thinking the same things. Just in the last few weeks I've been inundated with how good I look but in the back of my head I think it could be all gone, this could happen to me. It's a real eye opener. Thanks for all the erosion info. I'm interested in the different band types and erosion percentages as well as port infection/causes for erosion. I have the AMI, J&J Swedish band which is "taller" then the Inamed band and has a titanium port. I have done some comparisons when I was first banded but didn't see many differences, they work the same and the same rules apply... Any research you conduct is always appreciated.

Roll Call
Hello I'm Vera, 44 year old Cancer crab Started working right out of high school in the electronic field, Silicon Valley and I'm currently an Antenna Test Engineer. When I was 21 a guy Billy 18 started working with me. We worked together for 11 years every day seeing each other. In that time he married a girl who also worked with us and I married Bob when I was 29. Bob was verbally abusive and an alcoholic, divorced him after 6 years. Meanwhile Both Billy and I started new jobs, 2 years later his company bought out the company where I was working, thus we're working together again. Actually he was my boss. This was about the time I was divorcing and he had divorced his wife also. We had become best friends and did allot of bowling, camping and outings to the beach. 6 years ago we had Roxanne and 3 years ago we had Hunter, and how have know each other 23 years have a beautiful house on Anderson Lake in Morgan Hill California. Yes we still work together and we've been engaged 3 years. Planning "the Wedding" maybe in Yosemite or on a cruise. Just thought I'd tell you my love story. Now for the Band stats: Banded 8/14/03 at 244lbs size 20 AMI Swedish band, 3 fills @ 5.7cc's Now 184lbs size 12/14 I'm so very blessed!

help......again
You want a full feeling to last, Think as you have an hour glass stomach with a 15cc top(thats what most docs calibrate to) About the size of an egg?? help me here if I'm wrong. So if you can get that food to stay there with out drinking and pushing it down. You feel full longer. Yes we need LOTs of water, so after about an hour start drinking. The picture seen should be like a strainer, watrer gets through, but not to tight .., If it didn't come back up within 15 minutes its going down eventually. Study show food may sit for several hours.

help......again
Bratzs 'n salad is pretty rough on a newly banded!! I still shread/slice/dice my salads, a good point just mentioned by Lisa remove the caseings off Sauasagezz. Lubrication:Mayo/Ketcup,BBQ/chilli sauce Cottage cheese is a must for me in the morning. If your that restricted..change how/what you eat, chew alot! Soon the fat around your stomach should decrease and ease your tight feeling. I hope .. Try drinking some warm tea before your meals. I still enjoy a nice bowl of soup

O U C H... Sympathy please!
Personally I feel that Dr. Lopez should pay for Dr. Kuri to replace/fix/remove your port Lisa and Penni yours should be for free also. I don't believe this is common, I'm no expert but I'm sure Inamed and the FDA would have stats on this at least if it happened here in the states. Take care of yourselves and be safe.

WARNING - GROSS pics attached
You still have me laughing with all this pain.. So what's the plan: Thursday or Saturday? Is the surgeon Lopez? I say you get down there ASAP

O U C H... Sympathy please!
I'm sure you've asked all the questions like: why can't he just put in a new port at a different location? I'm sure feeling for you. Hang in there girl

??? about going home after surgery???
If Your Insurance is covering the cost, I would stay the night. Anesthesia effects everyone differently, you may just sleep or be in allot of pain (the worst part for me was the gas pressure in my chest). It was nice to be cared for and not think about what's going on at home. And when I got home it wasn't quiet. I read Nicci is your Angel, will she be at the Hospital with you?

O U C H... Sympathy please!
Hi Delarla I was reading this painful tread yesterday and put in a call to AnnMarie and was waiting for a return call from her all day. It was ironic that others where doing the same thing. She and her Husband Eric are both banded and I believe they have a place in Vegas and they can give fills also. So when or if you get a hold of her ask about that. I am truly sorry that your going through this pain and frustration.

what a difference a year makes..
 Michelle Congratulations. You've done an excellent job! I was watching a video of Yosemite (about a year ago) that had me in it when I decided to do something about my weight as well. Looking in the mirror isn't the same as seeing yourself on film. Does it add 10lbs?

Weird, weird, weird!
Alexandra What a ka-winky-dink.. The Sushi bar near work knows me well, when they see me coming they bring out a bowl of soup as I sit down and serve all my fish without seaweed or rice. But 3 weeks ago I was in the city getting my hair done and decided to go to the mall and do some shopping....Well saw a sushi joint so stopped for a few bites. First Maguro and Salmon then a few Calif rolls. It was a matter of 5 minutes and off to the bathroom I went. Was definitely the seaweed as I did have trouble chewing it. Glad to hear all the fills went well. I've been contemplating getting a fill soon and check on that possible kink in the tube? I'm able to get alot of fruit and some big salads down. The other thing I've notice I don't hiccup as much. My last fill was in January so its time for a check-up. Topsy I have a Swedish band as well and am currently at 5.7ccs but my first fill was 1.75ccs and 4 closed me off completely. Have a good trip.
