Went for a Fill today with lovely Dr. McKeen. First of all it's been since January 04 since I've had a fill and at that experience he wasn't able to remove any saline from the previous fill done in Nov. 03. So we decided to try it standing up, not a problem accessing my port, it's fairly surfaced under the skin. He ties to remove some saline, No Go. Nothing comes out. Pulls the needle out and tries again noda, nothing, zip. So I lye down, he accesses the port nothing will come out. OK put some in and try to get it out, like I give the orders. Nothing and we try again each time removing the needle even using new needles. He gives me 1 more cc and tries to get that out and that's when we decide to stop. I have the (large) AMI Swedish band and if all the saline is still in there, this would put me to 7.5cc...I don't think so??? Discussions lead to possible slow leak or kink tube. I decide to wait a couple of weeks then I'm scheduling a Fluoroscopy leak check probably in for Late October. With that, I want a look at my band anyway. I do the water drinking test, I get allot of gurgling but all gos down. Lunch comes and I'm hungry, all I've had was coffee and water today. I make a small shredded salad...Big mistake I should of had soup...I KNOW BETTER. Yes it came up. Go figure I'll keep you updated

Betty So sorry to hear of this, My thoughts are with you. Last year I had some nipple pain and demanded a mamogram immediately! After the tests the doctor explained that some cancers have no pain involved. It's pretty scary. Everything was fine I'm sure Penni knows more....

Ya know...How much money on average is spent on after-care for a typical bandster??? So far I've spent $527.00 total for 3 fills, 1 under Flouro and a 4th fill scheduled next week, add 200. $727.00. I will say so far I'm lucky.. Just wondering what others have paid for a fill/fills, lets say for a year estimating? Is $3,500 for 3 years worth it. FYI Also Dr. McKeen will take MX or other Dr.s' patients for after care/fills. He's in San Jose. CA

Totally cool, or should I say "HOT"

Well I'm about 180 lbs. 5ft 5in. I've done alot of bike riding and believe it's trimed my legs down. Last week while shopping I noted the diferent cuts of jeans. Lees relax fit I can wear a 12 but the legs were baggy so I tried Lees slim fit and could bearly get into a 14...I still wear a XL top, I don't like the rolls on my side showing either.

Dazzey 66 lbs. is a great accomplishment. Congratulations, You'll see Onederland soon, keep up the good work. Sounds like your doing things right. I don't actually measure in a cup/scale. My way of measuring is visual. A piece of meat the size of a deck of cards equalls about 4 oz. The small plate, saucer is a great way of viewing how much you eat cause it doesn't hold much. If your counting proteins and carbs..., Fitday.com is a great tool.

Ditto!! Thanks Donali Its so nice to come on this board and feel "I'm not the only one" Even though I haven't lost any weight in 3 months, I haven't gained any either. For the first time in my life I'm NOT yo-yoing. FYI I just made an appointment for a fill next week. It's been since last January and I can eat almost anything....Some of you may remember on my last fill the doc could'nt get any saline out (possible link) so this time we're going to try a stand up fill. If we can't get any saline out, then it's off to Flouro. It's time for a check.

I know how you feel... realistically I can't see being 144....I'm a goal setter, a list creator, an organizer. I truly feel healthier and happier. I think that's a goal in it self. You've done a wonderful job with all you've been through! You deserve a pat on the back, Way to go and AMEN.
