Such Pain
Yes make the doctor aware. If it is gas the only thing to really stop it is the walking, because it is accompanied by presure. Try a liquid pain med...it worked better for me. Did you do the barium swallow? Good luck.

Eating More Calories
I would say you could at least follow it a few months to see...I think I do better when I am on the higher range of my calories. Even if I don't lose as much weight I feel better and have a better outlook. Good idea about the protien, I have been toying with that myself. Natural fiber, it seems, is much better than any supplement. I really seem to be doing well (mentally - feeling sharp and alert and sleeping better) since I began to stick to my "5 best foods" blueberries walnuts EVOO or another good fat source either a spoonful on tambiko, or salmon, or talapia...often made with the evoo. Prune, or apple peel, or squash - and just maybe a little oatmeal. REAL oatmeal, lol!!!! Smaller amounts but nearer real suggested amounts. also if I can: pumpkin sunflower seeds hummus cauliflour just soooo much stuff now that I seem to enjoy on a different level, it is like my body knows to enjoy it.

Wedding Dress Blues
Talk to a good seamstress in your area, and have her confirm how long she would need to make some size adjustments on a specific dress, then order a nice dress that has easy lines to tailor. Your seamstress may even be able to offer you a list of garments for sale - and be able to take it up. Don't hesitate to ask. Good luck. I tried to get married in kakhis and bare feel but was overuled by all...

Anger Problems
Not fried foods and such but yes...and these are things you want to work on. You will deal with more than that. There are going to be alot of things that brig up emotions you will not anticipate. Contunie to go to counseling if you can - and read, read, read the books that are available. You should consider getting a sleeve buddy, someone yo ucan talk to on the phone, and text, etc. Good luck.

Plateau After 4 Weeks?
Just my suggestion but a guy at 6.4 and only 4 weeks out keep to the protien shakes (the ones with extremely few carbs) and meats that are not sauced....focus on Water intake also, get a Multivitamin in every day - a b supplement if you can. Amp you daily routine, as well as exercising...walk a little further to the entrance of a store or mall, vaccum the carpet 2x...be more vigorous in scrubbing counters, windows, etc...it sounds silly but it is a little bit that goes in abig way. Try to stay in ketosis! I would think you need about 90 g protien, minimum! Probably more...and yes that just equals to more calories than you are getting. Measure your waist, thighs, chest, neck - you will see weight loss even when you stall. Get sleep - you have to sleep. I have always had metabolism issues, so I anticipated avery long stall and I am in it...but it isnt the same - just remember how much you have lost, you will loose more...and if you are careful you will not gain it back! Every pound is a true victory to us now.

This is some of the first days of the rest of your life...you will always have "before" moments that you will never forget, good times and bad - but you now have a whole other "rest of your life" than you perhaps thought you might. make the very best of it! God bless!

What You Loose When You Loose 1 Lb. Of Fat!
gmanbat, I it is something i don't think I have got into much here, but a deciding factor for me to go ahead and get the sleeve was I had a tumor on my stomach - they were going to have to remove a portion of my tummy anyway.. Which they had missed in every reading for at least a year, until I began to lose weight on my own in january '11 (sleeved Januar '12)...so yes, the weight loss must help with things like that, even if only in the odds of detecting it...

Anxious! Please Help!
I recommend you discuss with your doctor if it will be him or another doc that will be seeing you after surgery - and go over your pain med options now. Later it is difficult to discuss the pain meds, and catch is you probably dont need to unless they arent working right. They tried to try me on morphine, when I had told them not to, then demoral (or some such) and my doc had gave my post care over to another doctor, so no communication was working. the demoral would knock me totally out, and then when I woke it was so much worse because you cant sleep and get in your walking at the same time. Finally a nurse on the next shift told them to give me hydrocodone in a liquid suspension and she said..."I am giving you two medicine cups and your pain med is just over halved - the first sup is about 3/5 and the other is 2/5...sip it real slow..." I did and I didn't need the other half, it was a suspension so it began to work quickly and after that I avoided having to take a whole dose - ever. No pain, less meds, less out-of-head. All good
