Why Some People Change After Vsg

I had my surgery 7 weeks ago and was not doing well the first few weeks as most of us. I was full of regret, depressed and so negative. I think that was normal at 2 and 3 weeks out. I stalled at 3 weeks to top that up.

At the beginning I was so happy, I met few people who had the surgery hoping they will support me and understand what I have been going through and not being judgemental but instead one of them was critical to my situation. I was so tearful and shocked when I heard that. At 2 weeks post op what did she expect? why she forgot how it was for her post op?

I lost confidence in people around me. I thought friends are there to listen and feel each other’s pain.

Any way, getting better these days. Training for 1 to 2 hours a day. Losing slowly but started weighing myself once a week only, ease the stress.

Happy that I am eating healthy smaller portions.

I want to stay the same person always and not to forget where I have come from. I want to always support newbies without being judgemental.

Peace.

Oh goodness, yeah, I ran into that same thing, with a good friend of mine. I think, they don't want to remember, they had the same thing. Maybe they want to think, that they have always been thin. Don't know. All I do know, is changing is your choice, I always want to be caring, and happy, cause that's who I've always been. I'm the one with the big smile.

Please don't take it personally. Your friends are probably still your friends. What I find is that we bombard our friends with new discoveries about our new body. It does get tiring to our friends. As exciting as our news may seem to us, it gets old fast with them. Maybe ration your victories to once a week?

Also, we sometimes forget about the struggles of others. If she's had the surgery, is she going through a stall or personal issue while you are excelling?

Continue to be encouraged......we are all winners.

Good for you!...I love this forum for the simple fact I can say what is on my mind and heart, and no one judges...

This is one of the best support groups we have, and it happens throughout the day...so many answers to many questions and things come up we don't even think to ask about. The vetran sleevers are awsome. I too am only 7 weeks out was sleeved on 2-27-12 in Mexico by the best surgeon Dr. Aceves...I experienced NO>>>YES ZERO pain during my surgery and afterwards...wow was I lucky.

I have only lost 52 lbs to date but I am swimming 3x a week and counting calories/protein/carbs and attempting to get in the liquids...very hard for me...And I work full time, and have 2 kids still at home and an unsupportive husband

Thank you for your honesty and putting it out here. I had a very low, dark time after my procedure 2-29-12 and am now coming through to the bright side once again!! Glad to know not alone. Now just need to find an exercise I like...
