Sleeve Size After Surgery And 4 Years Later
Me and my Hubby discussed that. I have no intention of stretching out my stomach more than the healthy progression allows but I have decided to put away additional funds so that should the time come I will redo the surgery, if necessary.

Im 8 Months Pregnant!anyone Else?
I can only speculate which is what I know you don't need BUT if you can use it please do. If you are constantly hungry, just be very sure to make your choices count, and still focus on smaller portions but more of them. Do not take my word on this - but if you chew and chew and then give it about an hour and *lightly* flush your food through with Water you could then have another light meal...but please get an OK on that from a gastric doctor. I do not know what your protien needs are right now but I imagine them to be massive. Consider a top notch protien drink such as Celebrate - it has the protien and Vitamins - keep drinking your protiens. Yor body is going to need it to heal too. Ask you gyno what you need for lactation so your milk is as potent as possible. Much of what your baby needs will be veggies and fruits, I suggest you avoid canned foods like the plague - there are chemicals in canned foods that they are beginning to show a direct relation to them & the body not being able to detect when to stop storing fat. Frozen and fresh do not have these chemicals. If you fear your tummy stretching the general rule will apply - don't put more in your tummy than you want the size of your stomach to be. I would speculate that the biggest for you will have will be post-op. Keep your spirits up and avoid head hunger and stress eating. Get yourself in the mindset to know you will have gained some weight, and it will have to wait for a while as you get your life in order with your new arrival - then worry about it but only in terms of fixing it. Good luck! Babies! Yay!

Roller Coasters
I was hit while I was cycling in 2007, but I was already overweight - I had gained almost 80 lbs in a year about 5 years before that and a 1400 calorie a day diet(just couldn't do less I would get so hungry and disoriented) and exercize wouldn't make it budge - just fluxuate a little. So I get hit and I am in emergency surgery and the surgeon diagnosed me as diabetic. He guesses I was misdiagnosed for 5 years or so, and while I was overweight before, once I developed atypical diabetes it helped my weight spiral and my hunger increase. Thats a long story wrapped up tight - but sorry about the bike accident - no one but other cyclists seem to give us any attention on the road. GRRRRR!

Please Explain To Me...
The Celebrate Vitamins rock! I drop an extra b supplement into my protien drinks, and the Calcium chews are soo easy! I use both

Sleeve Size After Surgery And 4 Years Later
I mean the difference between the new tummy and the 4 year old tummy would be less when compared in volume than is demonstrated in the photo. The new tummy is swollen inside, so the barium you see is not how much the new tummy can hold because it is swollen from surgery, limiting the appearance of the volume it can hold. Sans swelling it can hold a bit more. so the difference in the volume of the new tummy would be even less than it appears - which is a good thing.

Anyone Ate A Bug?
Okay, I have an odd question. I am going to a dinner in a few months with a friend and the featured foods will be arthropods - the buggy kind - I have done this before (I actually think many insects are very good). But I wonder if anyone had had any dishes with their sleeve that included insects and if it was too much - some of the exoskeletons give me concern, not the protien-packed insides.

I Just Really Love My Sleeve
Are you sure you were sleeved? JK! It is good to hear you grabbed that ball and ran!

Best Scale For The Job?
I do not have a scale I use at home anymore. Now that I am back to work I am using our scale in the warehouse. We have these mad scales that have to calibrated to the hundreth of an ounce. I weigh every Wed. at about 4pm, and since I am weighing in the same day/time on Wed's I am going to stick to my protien drinks through the day, to be consistent in what I bring to the scale. But I take off my steel-toed shoes!

I Have Told Everyone I Know? Am I In The Minority?
Got Sleeve? is cute. I would probably even wear a tshirt with it on it - cause you don't have a clue unless you have a clue - and I welcome questions from people once they know. I also know as I lose more weight I will be in a position that I feel I will be almost morally responsible to let everyone know. If this were something that cured my diabetes, I would be obliged to tell - oh wait, it DID! lol. So eventually I will tell many more people. We get back to the human nature thing - enough people know that I know so many MORE people know, you know?

I Have Told Everyone I Know? Am I In The Minority?
I don't know if you worded it poorly, Sabrina - but because someone decided to not tell someone, or a group of people, does not make it an excuse. It most definitely does not make it something they are not proud of. I have many things I am proud of that I do not share indiscriminately with whomever. I hope anyone else reading it does not assume there is a lack of pride in discretion. I will use the "I" instead of "us" as a group because in this context I speak for myself only. Below I have a summation of why I decided to tell or not to tell presented to all as food for thought but also I feel we can begin to "know" each other in these posts. I made a selective decision because I knew that not everyone would be supportive, some would be true malwishers, and some would worry too much. For those who would not be supportive I did so that we would not immediately have to deal with this, because I can have a short fuse and would be very likely to tell someone to fudge off. I know some people that are in our circles not because we like or dislike them or they us, they are collateral acquaintances. I know some of them would be negative and I know human nature and guarantee there would be people you would not expect that would be negative. I believe in the power of thought and energy, and I also KNOW I have other friends who would either like to have the surgery or want it and (doing what so many do) are making up their minds. Maldoers just spread discontent and I do not want to offer them fuel. I do not want to give them negativity that my friends will have to listen to and ask them to shut up, or be in that awkward state of knowing someone said something and feeling bad they don't relay it (it is better not to relay it, to me anyway). I would dislike others negative comments about my surgery affecting another’s decision to have or not have the surgery. In the end it would affect many more people than just me. Thirdly is family and friends who would just worry too much. I made an active decision to keep it away from my Mom and Dad and Granny, etc. But my Sister knew immediately. This decision goes into an unexpected area, and not everyone (please dear God no one else) has to deal with. My Mom worries about my Sister and me all the time. We are successful and mature and independent and she will always worry about us. That was my reasoning for my Mom. It changed. I was sleeved on 1/4/12. My Mom, 58 years old unexpectedly passed away in her sleep 1/11/12. If I had told my Mom, I would spend the rest of my life worrying, thinking, praying about the fact that maybe her worries over my surgery added to whatever caused her to pass. More people know now and I may eventually tell even more. But for now, post-op, I give it little thought. I also want to be careful around a young family member of mine who already shows signs of an eating disorder - no matter what I say, I am afraid this very young lady will only focus on one of her favorite women (she wrote a paper on me as a successful business woman - geez!) had to cut out her stomach to be skinny. I am very concerned what that might do to her. I was just unable to lump this into a very black and white area. Not that it can't work. Everyone is different.

Sleeve Size After Surgery And 4 Years Later
Also just after surgery, it is very swollen inside, so there is probably less difference than is even shown there. Interesting pics. I wonder what that patient's success rate is.

Been Mia, But I've Got Great News! :)
Sorry about your illness - super sorry about catching up on homework!!! It's great you were approved! Yay!

Disappointed!
PS - I suggest you quit fast food cold turkey and don't look back. The chemicals, fats and salts in those foods "rewire" our brains similarly to some drugs, you will crave them for no real reason, and they are unhealthy, overly processed foods.

Disappointed!
You seem to be answering your own questions. You didn't do what you should have, and you did many wrong things. Start over - act as if you had the surgery last week. Get back onto full lliquids for a week or so, low carb and while you are on that get used to keeping a food log. Go to mushies, etc and simply make all the right choices. Deal with your stress and refuse to eat unless you are physically hungry. Look for another job in the meantime. EXERCIZE BTW - many U's have resources like counceling available for students. It could possibly help with the stress. Good luck.
