  1. My doc supplied the wrap around compression and recommended daily use for about 8 wks. Toward the end, I did use pull on compression for dressing for work... Then changed when I got home. Jamie. My favorite part also is my real flat stomach and the difference in posture. So worth a crummy week or so !
  2. Just picked up my records as my doc is retiring. Color me surprised.! Not overweight or obese description. Finally! Loved the well nourished part he titled my very last visit. Happy to accept that lovely description of my health. Feels wonderful????
  3. Walker Liz, This is the new you. ????Years out, people think you have been relatively the same size... They don't know, and I, for one, mostly don't enlighten them. Do any of you tell when someone assumes you've been in the "normal" size all along?? It might also be the amount if time you've enjoyed the same size? Do tell.
  4. Where and what do you have planned for the summer? Some have shared how extra planning helps on those times away from our regular routine. I plan on taking protein bars on my outing. And my refillable water bottle. I think airlines let you bring fruit also ( but not Hawaii) so I will attempt to plan ahead. Share your vacation ideas ????
  5. I like to try Smooth Move tea also. two bags in one hot cup the night before and it appears that is an apt name! Love the pineapple reference That shall be the go to name for the awful once a year issue!????????????
  6. We are nice and friendly here! Just don't cross us with talk about food funerals and how quick can I loseX Pounds.... Nah. It seems we answer almost all questions respectfully ( well .. Lipstick girl gets testy ). Haha Seriously. I think we have peoples best interest in mind with their new Bodies!!!
  7. You are welcome.. I'm not much on crystal light type additions either. I do put a teabag in my water sometimes just to amuse myself. It's been a lot of years and water is still one of the things I have to remind myself to keep up on. I'm Good on protein and exercise.... Just the liquids. Protein shakes help, but only if I have had food first. Otherwise my body sends stomach acid to digest and upsets my stomach I'll just keep doing what works . That's why I had WLS ????
  8. Glad you have happy times ahead and you will be a sharp dressed man!
  9. I believe some of us put a teabag in our water for flavor... So I would guess that lightly flavored tea, crystal light, flavor drops etc would count as some water... I try to do some plain water too.... sigh ...some days are better than others!
  10. Boy. Shopping really is 1/2 the battle for me. I try to shop in the am if I can. I'm not so hungry... If I buy it and it is here, I will eat it. Even years out, everyday (like lisacaron said) is another chance to make good decisions. Some days are better, and I do think not having something in the house I will eat a lot of ( sweets for me) helps me get thru the day????
  11. Glad to see you posting C G. I am sorry about your dog.. That hurts. Yet we open our hearts again... And it brings us joy. ????I am in between dogs and kinda liking the independence of having two sister cats so I can go away a night or two. Another Monday starts. Sigh
  12. Ok sorry got thru the repeats and am now enjoying the personal issues that drove us , in part, to having WLS . 24 years ago, a dr at the ER and emergency surgery center said " you are the fattest person I've operated on". I was probably 230 or so and I'm 5'7" So it a real stinger and poor bedside manner. Glad she was not my regular doc or I would have switched docs ASAP . It would be 15 years later I hady WLS and I'm fairly certain that won't happen again But OUCH.... People can be ignorant ....even educated ones????
  13. Wow I can't get thru this forum. It just repeats. Hope the poster fixes it soon.
  14. Happy Father's Day to dads ! ???? Even if yours had to leave us, they are still in the Fiber of our being. I miss talking to dad, he has progressed in his dreadful disease to non-verbal, and bed bound for 5 years... Still warm and cozy at home. I shall go over and watch the ball game with him though and be happy he is here for another year. Hope the dads and grand dads have a wonderful time being honored⭐️
  15. Joe Congratulations on doing something to change your life. I often feel that navigating this life from a " normal" Size ( whatever that is to each of us) Is much better and easier than what I was before. It has been years with my band and I am thankful daily. And yes, sometimes she is a b@&ch and fussy, but life is very good. Good luck and keep posting!

  17. I also find sitting for any length of time gets uncomfortable . Even hair appts w/ cut and color last too long. OUCH. Guess it is better than having all that stuffing there.
  18. Great giggles today. Thanks. I really liked and needed this today!!
  19. Even years out, I am at a loss when people I have not seen in 8 or more years us say "how much do you weigh? Or how many pounds have you lost?" I'm just not a number sharing person ... I look average sized and dress nice for work but I do NOT want to talk about a number on a scale... I was a slave to it for a decade and now feel very different. I will chat about workouts or other healthy topics.... Just not sharing such personal information with people I'm not CLOSE to. These forums are one of the safe places to talk about size! Thanks????
  20. I rely on quest bars for the times I need protein , but either not so hungry or at work and busy. They really satisfy me. I find them at GNC stores ... They are not cheap but I find they are worth it!
  21. Thank you Alex for us vets still working our individual programs the best we can! I mentioned before that it is a bit scary to read of band removal and instant gains... All While watching food intake and exercising... Not over indulging on that thought, but I do believe it is real... Any studies known about this? Thank you in advance.
  22. I, too, find the thought of a major regain quite scary. You do read on the boards about some who had blissful years with WLS ... Then a crisis or health change or band removal caused a huge change in weight... While they were watching their intake and exercising! I don't know about any of you, but I am NOT willing to go back to 249 lbs ever !I I eat well and exercise faithfully And just hope I am one if the lucky ones that can keep up my lifestyle . It has been over 8 1/2 years and I am still a bit fearful of what happens to us long term banders. I don't see any 15 year post surgery posts... But I want to read them! Any info on anyone past 10 years ? Alex and jack are the only posters I see with that much experience. I don't fester on this... But it is in my head.
  23. Good luck on your break Sam . This is a very long term undertaking. We have years to go here, not weeks So plan for the future. See how this works and go on . Personally, I could not follow 2 hours a day of hard exercise for years. I am glad to see you are reconsidering where your strength will go!
  24. Thanks Elizabeth , Interesting article. Not sure which side makes the better point in this whole thread... But I found it full of studies. We each seem to have our way of navigating our weight loss in the post years. It is the latter years that I find fascinating. There should be more studies coming our way on post WLS soon.
  25. You VIP people are being fairly quiet. Could it be summer? Holidays? All is good here in California, except we are on Water rationing and most lawns here have died a peaceful death. Just wondering how June is going for everyone.????
