FAD DIETS after WLS
There seems to be a new "set point ". Hard for me to get much lower. No fad diets. Tried too many times. Just sensible eating and water and some work outs and walking. Works for many. Hopeful

help, am i doing the right thing?
My takes if you can lose your weight and KEEP it off, then you would have done it and have no need for Wls. You really need to want to change your patterns of behavior for life. The surgery was my only way to go through life not fighting myself over food and weight . Only you can decide your struggle daily... and if you can do that for YEARS. Your hair will grow...I lost very little... my skin is forgiving... in my 50's. I'm not sure my knees and heart and lungs and.... could be healthy without 95 lbs gone forever 10 years ago! Good luck on your decision!

Protein shakes giving me the runs
As a sometime sufferer also, I do better with homemade shakes. I happen to like inspire. Whey isolate protein may be kinder to my system. The store bought ones cause me issues on occasion.

Emotional Hot Mess
I also believe the offloading of hormones coupled with our loss of coping... food... makes for a new type of life. And it is not easy!! Keep trying. It gets better!!

Sick of sweet
That seems like a lot of ingredients for 7-10 days post op. I do like my immersion blender; I am many years out... just be slow and patient. You can do this!

My roller coaster life
Sigh. Sometimes our kooky bodies decide on a new set point.... without consulting us!

Starting out at age 45? How common?
I was 51.... some of us take longer to commit... best 10 years ever.... ok. Some yucky days with my band. But few!! Thankfully

Dry mouth
I believe this is a common issue. I know water/ s/f Gatorade. Or even a small amount of pedialyte mixed with water and ice... if tolerated... can give me some relief. Biotene lozenges and such can help me sometimes. My young feels like a dry parrot mouth!!!

made it to ONEderland [emoji2]
That seems to our monumental number. Someone said " I don't remember going over 200, but I really remember ducking under". Well said. And yes, memorable!! Congratulations

12 days post op
It is so hard when we can't use the soothing food as we have in the past. It seems the only way that has success in permanent loss of serious poundage is Wls. It has been years and I still want to eat anything I want some nights.... I don't ... mostly as I don't keep stuff at home that troubles me. Part of my fight is battledvat the market Best of luck!

Skipping meal plan phases
Sometimes in life, we choose to change our eating and behavior patterns.... this is an opportunity to try to change your life and health. Truly your choice. If all was great pre op, most of us would not have chosen to alter our body. perhaps try a new way and see if you are ready for a life change. Proceeding slowly to allow your body to heal is sensible. You would not walk on a broken leg because you wanted to hurry the process. It takes maturity and patience in my opinion, and I had to learn both. (Banded12/06). It took a long while to not struggle, but surrender to a new effort to change my life. That dang CONTROL thing! Best of luck. Keep posting

What is most important to weight loss?
Last srticle I read claimed diet was responsible for 80% of weight. Exercise was 20%. Made sense to me

800-1,000 Calories
I do like fair life milk. Extra protein in it. They have a low fat chocolate version that sometimes comes into my house

3 weeks post out and just starting to feel bad
Perhaps ask if you are eating and drinking enough. And keeping up with vitamins. Those issues can make me a bit dizzy if I don't pay enough attention to them. I am years out and still have to do my due diligence . Ask your doc or nut what can be best for you. We are all a bit different. Best of luck

800-1,000 Calories
Yogurt can help. Refried beans/cheese if tolerated and ok by doc. Tofu (I like baked and flavored in the package). Perhaps sample other protein drinks and bars? Good luck. Keep trying!!

Cheated
My take on this: Just get up , dust yourself off and start again. That is why I choose surgery.... to have a different behavior pattern Keep going!! There is a group here supporting you. You have to do the work though. Your successful future May not include pizza.....Or soda ... Except as a VERY occasional item . If we want to change our bodies , We have to do something different. Really hoping for your great future.

Keep Going
Always encouraging. Even if we stumble. We try to start over. It's a good strategy imho

What Are Your Weight Loss Surgery Resources?
My support group seemed to be a conduit to Wls. Supported by the hospital. Taken over by a few blabbers. Poor moderation. I do like this site, but I kinda pick and choose the advice... veterans: You mean the most be me. You have traveled down this rocky road and have the scars to prove it. I read all the seasoned posts and I also try to encourage other newbies. Without sounding smug, sometimes I can see where some people are just not ready to change their deep habits and give it over to a new way of life. Thank you

How Often Do You Weight Yourself?
I am 10 years post banded and I try to weigh myself every Friday am. If I miss, I often wait until the following Friday. Like many, my body has a new set point it likes... I can fight it and get down 5-7 lbs with much effort, but it does seem to like to revert back rather quickly .... I am just happy with my 100 lb loss maintained. Not perfect, but NOTHING. Is! Size 12. Sometimes 10. Seems to be for me and I'm good with that. 272 was not A good life for me.

Feeling kind of betrayed
My take is Let him take them to work... that might sink in more.... and promise him something "special" for the next holiday. Easter? If there are no candies involved. He might remember that!!
