sidvicious got a reaction from FluffyChix in The Journey Continues, OR, Third Time's the Charm
I hope this book I finally picked up and it's principles work for me. It's called The 12 Steps and 12 Traditions of Overeaters Anonymous. I am doing the head work before my second WLS and maybe it could help you too?

sidvicious got a reaction from RaeSlayVSG in 1.5 years out & still throwing up?
Stress, which you sound like you have an abundance of, can trigger an inflammatory response. That in conjunction with a carb heavy diet (especially for a carb addict) will make the inflammation even worse.
Maybe time to look at the control center... your brain. Give it rest (for survival) , pray or meditate, seek out a group like OA for support.

sidvicious reacted to sillykitty in So happy with weightloss but exhausted
Try B12, either injection, nasal spray or sublingual. I feel absolutely wrecked if I am low on B12
Patches are not proven to work. Many surgeons specifically disallow them.
10,000 calories. I’m kinda speechless
@FluffyChix wrote 1,000 cals, not 10,000
BUT ....
Something though doesn't add up,
You had VSG at 178 lbs (29.6 BMI). Your Goal weight is 108, an 18 BMI, which is underweight. You are only drinking Protein Shakes. 50 g of Protein. Assuming you are drinking PP or Muscle Milk, you're getting only about 300 cals You are exercising to the extreme. These are huge red flags for an eating disorder and/or body dysmorphia

sidvicious got a reaction from Slownstedy in I can gulp
With the lap band, if my sips got a bit too big, I would feel restriction. 2 weeks out since surgery and I can take large gulps ( not intentionally) and no restriction.
Sleevers? Do you feel restriction when drinking mindlessly?

sidvicious got a reaction from eporter in December Surgery dates???
if you want to capitalize on all your pain and suffering - don't do the diluted apple juice... only do zero calorie drinks.. then you won't have to post in a few weeks about how your weight loss is slow.

Actually, you might be luckier... The restriction acts as a reminder for us to sip/ take small bites/ etc... it is a great tool

sidvicious reacted to LeeAnnfromNC in Lap Band to Gastric Sleeve
I'm right there with you. I also got a lap band in 2013, lost 98 pounds, then started a gradual regain of over half of what I had lost. Eventually developed abdominal pain issues. Testing showed no other possible reasons so my band was removed July 31 of this year. Pain gone immediately so had to have been the band. On Oct 9th I had vertical gastric sleeve surgery. I am down 35 pounds and 2 pant sizes so far. I hope I learned an important lesson over the past years....that the same actions (excess carb intake ) always equals the same result (weight gain) . At 63 years old I'm getting too old to keep starting this journey over again.
