What is getting stuck? chicken, breads, rice, mashed potatoes, salads? Are you taking very small bites and eating very slowly? I got stuck a lot at fill 3 but it was my own fault. I ate too fast and put too much food in my face. It's a learning process and I'm still learning. I'm on fill 5 and got stuck at Breakfast this morning but only for 10 minutes.

Sometimes there is swelling after a fill. Every time there is a learning curve for me after a fill. Smaller bites, chewing more, slowing down. there might be a food I can no longer tolerate. My 4th fill I ended up slightly overfilled. I put up with it for a week. When I got stuck on mashed potatoes and then yogurt, I have up and went in for a slight unfill.
I'd had 1cc put in, I had .5cc taken out. It was instant relief! A month later I went back and had 1cc put in and was fine there for a year. So, go figure.

i had the single incision surgery my dr is one of the few who offer it i love it i dont have any scars my incision is in my belly button. recovery was pretty easy and fast. idk what the requirements are for it. my dr just asked me if i wanted single incision and i said yes. he did tell me that if i wanted the single incision to stick to the pre opt diet because you need to reduce ur body fat ass much as possible before surgery

I would love to have a relationship with someone who has the lapband.
    1. We could go out to eat and share 1 plate (hahaha)...saves the wallet.
    2. They would understand the struggle.
    3. They would be more likely to exercise with me and understand when I don't want to exercise.

Ok so I am sitting @ the dr office typing this on my iPhone. I have my fingers crossed I get a fill!! I am currently starving!! Maybe if my stomach grumbles it will prove my point!
Everyone is right the 1st couple of mths are hell. Between the pain from surgery the being hungry and all the holidays it has been hard to be good, but I paid a lot (self paid) for this & I refuse to give up. I recommend getting a private trainer even if it is just for a few weeks to get you motivated. But interview them first & make sure they have experience working w/ banded clients. I love my trainer he sends me daily pep talks!!

One fill isn't very much, most people need at least 2 or 3 before feeling restriction.
Phentermine is by prescription only and it is addictive. It's essentially speed. If you have high blood pressure or heart problems, it's particularly unsafe. You can only get it through a doctor.
Phentermine is a quick fix. I took it many years ago, and I would strongly suggest against it. When you stop taking it, you'll gain back every pound and then some. If your body becomes to immune to it (and if you take it long enough, it will) again, you'll gain the weight right back.
Just my opinion, but you need to give your band time to work. One fill isn't enough, you need to be patient until you get some restriction.

I'm 18 right now, 19 on March 24. I had the band on April 25, one month after I turned 18, and have since lost 95 pounds. It's fantastic and one of the greatest decisions of my life! If you need any advice or anything, you definitely let me know!

    Hi all!
I am subscribed to an email newsletter called Godvine. Every weekday they send me an email with a verse, several video clips, and a story. This story was in the letter from yesterday, 2/3. It really warmed my heart, so I had to share it with you all.
    "Get Off The scale
Whether weight is a 'problem' in your life or it's some other single factor, this can apply to everyone. Never forget it!
You are beautiful. Your beauty, just like your capacity for life, happiness, and success, is immeasurable. Day after day, countless people across the globe get on a scale in search of validation of beauty and social acceptance.
Get off the scale! I have yet to see a scale that can tell you how enchanting your eyes are. I have yet to see a scale that can show you how wonderful your hair looks when the sun shines its glorious rays on it. I have yet to see a scale that can thank you for your compassion, sense of humor, and contagious smile. Get off the scale because I have yet to see one that can admire you for your perseverance when challenged in life.
It's true, the scale can only give you a numerical reflection of your relationship with gravity. That's it. It cannot measure beauty, talent, purpose, life force, possibility, strength, or love. Don't give the scale more power than it has earned. Take note of the number, then get off the scale and live your life. You are beautiful!"

Excess wind does seem to be an issue post band. But at least you are burping and not farting.
You can reduce the amount of burping by the way you eat and what you eat.
Make sure you are eating slowly, chew well etc. Always making sure you chew with your mouth closed as well because wind is caused partly by swallowing excess air.
Avoid foods that ferment in the stomach and cause lots of gas. Onions, Beans, eggs, cabbage
Also low carb diets often result in excess gas. Herewith a link to an interesting article from livestrong that explains why

I am happy to share that I finally went and got a fill last Monday, Jan 23,2012 and I was weighing in at 199 an today I stepped on the scale and I am 193.8!!! I finally broke my over a month long plateau!!!!! I really think this last fill put me in my green zone and i " Fill " wonderful! I'm hardly ever hungry even though I make myself eat something small but I don't have to eat hardly anything to get full!!! I dont even crave anything! So for all of you out there that are slow losers like me and think you are going to be stuck at your plateau weight or just think you have stalled and won't lose anymore there is hope I promise you! Don't give up and the scale will start moving I am sure of it because I was that person who thought well I didn't have much to lose so 30 pounds is all I'm capable of with the band when really i just needed another fill to help my appetite! If you have any questions just reply to this and I'll be happy to answer anything because I am on cloud 10 today!!! ))

I'm so excited. I'm still on the pureed food stage for another week. I'm so sick of the same ole same ole. Today, my favorite restaraunt (an organic place near my office) was having their healthy coconut chicken noodle Soup. I called and spoke to the owner who agreed to puree a cup of it for me.
Even though I was unable to take more than a few sips until I was full, it was so good to have something different, healthy and pureed for me!
Woot woot! Had to share, I'm so excited!

I make my own muesli - raw oats, seeds, sultanas, other dried fruit that I fancy etc - and eat it with greek yogurt. It is healthy , filling and makes great roughage! If I want a little extra sweetness I have a teaspoon of honey or Stevia.

I had surgery on Jan 3. Just ran out of pain pills so I'm on my own. I haven't started exercising yet, but am getting some walking in. I have to go to the store to get some milk of magnesia, if you get my drift. I feel ok, but looking forward to continued healing. Having trouble getting all my liquids in as well. My goal for today is to get all 4 shakes in and 64 oz of Water. Glad to see everyone doing well.
