I get a few but obviously not as many as you. You've been around a long time and your success is evident.
I just answer as patiently as I can.

I started at 338 & 5'7" and had lost 50lbs by my 10/10 surgery date. I have lost another 58 since surgery. Honestly, any loss is a good loss in my book.
    Good Luck!

sorry to hear this but what an awesome tool. bread aversion in the end is a good thing! I have read that it may be easier to tolerate well-toasted bread vs fresh bread, but not sure if you want to go there. Your chili will be tastier and better for you when you feel better!

I got banded in 2005 also...very very little weightloss...I eventually gained the 40 pounds I lost back, plus 20 more....I also developed a pouch over the top of my band...my doc was hoping that it would go down after he unfilled my band, but it shrunked just abit....what he did was started my VSG under where I developed the pouch...which means that my weightloss is a bit slower and I can eat a bit more than the typical patient...I'm just happy to be 98 pounds lost and still losing praise God!
I revisied to VSG on 6/11/12 and I'm loving every bit of it....

A bit of "gagging" isn't a bad thing. If you are willing to go that far for him, great. And for you ladies that don't have a gag reflex, make the noise every once in a while. I know it sounds bad, but it kind of strokes our ego a bit.

Another thing, I don't gag unless my partner is pushing down on my head like some guys do. Don't let them do that. Don't complain, but push back with your head and don't let them make you go far enough to make you gag. Remember this is something that you are in control of and it is something that men like because they aren't in complete control. Or if you can get them to gently run their fingers through your hair instead of pushing down on your head it will be much more pleasant.

Probably not cool to say but if gagging is an issue for you...you can try putting a dab of "anal ease" near the back of your throat and it will quiet the gagging reflex...A trick I was taught when I was learning the skill...You need to give it a couple minutes to work...It numbs your throat...As I think about it...I wonder if chorolseptic(sp?) will work as it has a numbing effect to....

PEvette reacted to want2bthin in Band to Sleeve Revision - Half my size in 11 1/2 months - Down 143 lbs!
I just posted this in the Success Stories topic but want to be sure that anyone thinking of a Lapband revision sees it also.
Hopefully this works. I just posted an album of me with before photos and progress along the way.
I doubt I could ever fully describe how incredible this past year has been. My surgiversary will be on
March 7th. I started my pre-op diet 2 weeks before at 286.2 lbs; as of this morning I now weigh 142.8 lbs.
I really can't believe it myself. I am a Lapband revision and was told that I should expect to lose slower
because of that. My hope was that at 1 year I would have lost 120 lbs or 10 lbs a month.
VST has been a vital contributor to my success - both in reading the forums before surgery, after and
hoping to contribute along the way (though I admit I have not been on near as much as in those early days).
Many thanks to all of the wonderful members who have posted and shared your journeys, tips, recipes and challenges.
To those of you considering VSG I encourage you to read through the many forums here, as I did. In one sentence I
can tell you that this is the best thing I ever did for myself!
To those of you in the first month after VSG - hang in there, the first month was the hardest - it gets better and better.

After almost a year at goal, I am still surprised to see my reflection at a distance. Up close, I'm used to the new me, but put 12-15 feet or more between me and the reflection and I'm still like: who's that? My clothes also still look too small when I look at them.

Not recognize yourself? This may sound paranoid and honestly at the time it was, but here it is. I was shopping and kept noticing this person's reflection in windows and the occasional mirror out of the corner of my eye. And finally I thought myself..well I have had enough of this follow me so I whipped around and guess who was there..the reflection of myself . So I had been all freaked out because apparently I was following myself ..didn't even recognized own image...weird I know..but now when people don't recognize I get it. So remember..if you think someone is following you, just turn around it probably is your own shadow! LoL
