    Can't believe it's been 2 years since my vsg with Dr. Kelly and Trish. Wow , how this experience has changed my life. Now, I'm making more changes. On Tuesday, March 19th, I am having a Tummy Tuck to remove sagging skin and stretch marks, a breast lift , and lypo in five areas to contour my body . Can't wait !

    My doc warned me, but its different to be warned then to actually go through it....I haven't had sex in 2 years (a refuse to use the word celibate, hate it) I just have been focused on my research...
    I'm 7 months post op, and 2 weeks ago its like I've been hit with the "horny bug" I want sex....problem, I'm single...but I want sex, so I dont like being single right now...
    The only thing that has kept me sane right now are my toys....thank goodness for them....but I want a man! LOL

    Hi, I had someone suggest to me before, but its difficult for me to eat small meals during the day, because I'm a teacher and my planning period isnt until 11:45am....so I have to go from 7:45am to 11:45am just drinking.....and drinking just goes straight through me....I'm now trying to keep turkey Jerky at my desk, but now I think I will keep nuts now.....I need things easy to get to, sneak and munch on without refrigeration....

    March 11th I will be 9 months post op....yes I have been doing ok...having a mind/body struggle right now....trying to hard to hit 100 pounds lost and I keep sabotaging myself...praying I can hit it by the 11th!!

    I agree about the two step process. I had my band in for five yrs. in the last three months it caused so much damage my dr wanted me to heal properly first. My surgery (sleeve) is scheduled for march 27. But do whats comfortable for you. We're all here bc we need help. Thank God we have all taken a positive foot forward to do something about it. Last thing we need on this forum is someone being judgmental and telling you to "think about what your doing" I'm sure you've done lots of thinking.

    I'm pretty much always hungry now and I think I need to raise my caloric intake some. I am horrible at planning meals and i just don't eat enough food to interest myself in cooking. I am working on changing a lot of this and it's so hard. My head doesn't want to do what it's suppose to do and that's planning my meals and following through with them. I am so bored with my go too's now and I really am not interested in eating junk foods or high carb foods. This is hard work and I know that I have to do the work to have healthy eating habits..... But I'm not really sure what my caloric intake should be right now.......Frustrating.......

    Yep, a third voice chiming in! I think that it's important that you tweak your diet until it's ideal for your body. That means you'll still lose weight, hopefully at the same pace, but you'll feel better mentally about food. That helps immensely with controlling the urge to binge or graze on less than ideal options.
    I was really surprised to find that my body gave me such a large window to work with during the loss phase. There was no real difference in my loss pattern when I added in twice as many calories and carbs a day, but mentally it was a complete breakthrough.
    Don't be afraid to go back to basics, tracking those calories and searching for the right diet for your body. It doesn't matter if someone else does things differently. What matters is that you find something that works for you. If you can't do that, maintenance will be a struggle.
    Real fats. Real sugar. Good quality carbs. These things all help us feel more satisfied with what we're eating. Moderation is key, so start experimenting.

    usually my eating is good, but I do sometimes go too long in between meals and I end up picking up anything I can get my hands on to eat....
    But most days I will eat my balanced meal or snack like yogurt with fresh fruit or my meat and veggies then I'll go grab a bunch of wheat crackers with Peanut Butter and just start grazing on that...even though I just finished eating my meal
    At work I will work until someone frustrates me and I start looking for change to hit the vending machine, nevermind I have planned Snacks and a balanced lunch, at that moment I want chips and I'm going to the vending machine to get chips....
    I'm working on it, telling myself I screwed up today but tomorrow is a new day....I'm tired of having new days, ugh!

    I have put great thought into this surgery. I do think I have a good attitude about the whole process. I have maintained the amount I have lost with lapband and will be very pleased with whatever I can do with the sleeve. I plan to work as hard as I can to achieve a healthy weight for myself.. I don't feel pressured to set an exact weight that I want to be. I was just putting some numbers out there.

    I lost 40 pounds intially with the band...then gain that plus 20 pounds back over the 8 years I had it in me....
    He probably estimating that to be on the conservative side...my doc scheduled for 7am on a Mon because he didnt want to be rushed....he told me about an hour and it turned to be 2 to 2.5 hours, so he's probably telling you that more for him than you....

    My revision was around 2 to 2.5 hours....I was just thankful that it was done in one procedure....my doctor's goal is for me to get under 200 pounds, my personal goal is 170....I believe that 170 is a reasonable goal for me....I am really hoping to reach it!

    Like they said...you did it before, you CAN do it again! Your going to have to kick yourself in the butt again & remember what the sleeve can do! But it IS only a tool....you have to stop the grazing on crap & get back to focusing on Protein first! That new baby needs you & deserves a happy, healthy momma! Good luck! & keep us posted!

    Chobani and now I am in love with Noosa, its a Australian yogurt, I add a scoop of unflavored Protein to it as well as 1/4C of fresh fruit.....its great!

    I honestly dont think the weightloss is as rapid with VSG then with RNY...my friend/co-worker was at goal in 9 months when she had RNY 6 years ago and she lost 160 pounds....I'll be 9 months in March and 2 pounds away from 100 and I have 70 more pounds to lose...

    I'm almost 9 months out and I can eat about a cup of salad at a time....just wait until you are 3 to 4 months out to try it...so you will be pretty much healed when you eat it...

    Is this a trick question? I take bites of my food...sometimes big sometimes small, but I eat my food...
    As long as you chew your food it doesnt matter how big the bite is, you will be fine....
